  • I LOVE THIS,..

  • I dont understand that a man with great musical talent would be rediculed because of the color of his skin. If people never saw him the would love his music, because they wouldnt see the color of his skin. He is a great preformer and i will love him for all the great music he does forever. thank you Darius for doing what you do. thanks, chuck@harsens isle. mi.

  • Not all rednecks are racist. Guess that makes you guilty of profiling tmoney6323. Think before you act. Sometimes it's better just to stay quiet.

  • im a redneck... and im not racist at all...

  • awesome singing darius

  • Drop the racism. his music is country. country is southern. there are a lot of black people in the south. therefore, its completely ok (and awesome) for him to sing this. it beats all that rap trash.

  • ever time i listen to thos sond i cry it makes me think of my brother he is in falster care i am 12 ears old

  • ""Turn the Radio Up" by Dylan & the Dirt Road Detour. copy this into the search bar for one hell of a good time

  • The pride of Charleston, SC...

  • I'm from Georgia, have a southern accent, and quite enjoy this nice man's music, regardless of his race. If you really can't look past the color of his skin to his great music; then you are missing out on a wonderful experience. And not everyone in the south is racist, just the ones that are usually are the loudest, unfortunately.

  • Dang my dream come true a fine brotha who sings country music..... My future husband!!!

  • he,s better because now he took a chance in this white mans world, with his music, guess what he rock and i,m from w.va

  • he was the lead singer of hootie and the blowfish

  • @shaner1ray whogives a shit

  • Typical comments " I didn't know he was black singing country".....lol. As if there hasn't been any white guys who ever tried to sing and black music since 1920s. (Al Jolson, Elvis and many other to name a few). My point is what is such a controversy??

  • @blackarawak83 who gives a shit shut up stop polluting the internet with half thaught views on random subjects.. lets talk about something other than race because black people suck, white people suck, asians suck, latinos suck, if ur alive and u have skin on ur body u suck and guess what i suck. deal with because i have

  • He is not the first black country singer Charlie Pride has been around since the 70's. I think Darius is better on his own doing country then he was with Hootie by far.

  • @sturgis76 and they all suck, makes me want to vomit all over my keyboard because it sucked so bad and guess what ur comment sucked because without robert johnson playing the blues we would all still be listening to folk music.

  • Hey Darius... Excellent song. Sorry we missed you when you were in Charleston. A couple of my friends saw your show and said it was excellent. I went to school at U.S.C. in the 80's... You guys played at that little bar on Rosewood Drive that burnt down. What was the name of it? My sister in law, Debbie McDaniel said she knows you from way back in the day. Does the name ring a bell?

    Sherry Early

  • @christianbamagurl7 Be proud that you're a redneck but you're grammar is absolutely awful.

  • @tmoney6323 hes actually better than a lot of white singers lol..

  • @tmoney6323 Not all "Rednecks" are racist. Black people can be rednecks, so you shouldn't group them as a racist group.

  • doesn't bother me, i couldn't care less what he is as long as he cleans up that joke of a country.

  • Why does this bother you so much? Talk about what you know. You see being a 47 year old bi-racial(black father-white mother) American I have experienced racism from both black and white people. And I realized along time ago that in order for any of us to move forward we must first move the lines that divide us. So MOVE over!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • hoootie! he's amazing and so is this song! i didn't know that he was black at first either but who cares! love this song <3

  • Hootie is not a person.

  • Thank you Captain Obvious. I know that Hootie was the band, thank you. But he was the "voice of Hootie" so that's why I said that. Maybe you should be nicer in your responses to people, jerk.

  • What are you, my fuckin' mother? You didn't know he was black, and thought his name was Hootie, and now you're getting shitty because you've been shown up as a silly little tart? Go fuck yourself.

  • Uhm, yeah, that's bullcrap. I did know that he was black, my friend sent me a message telling me that SHE didn't know. And what in the freaking world is a tart and who says that? You should seriously learn to be a little nicer; and not be such a jerk.

  • I really like this song

  • I agree with you twineno1

  • wow. he has a great voice for country music. i never thought he would go that way. i'm not a huge country music fan but i like it. his voice is so easy to listen to.

  • i like this song so much

  • The first time I heard this song (I don't listen to country stations much) I said "Wow this sounds like the lead singer from "hootie and the blowfish" I didn't think it was until I looked him up. I never thought about him going into country music but I just bought his CD today and the whole thing is pretty good so far! I loved Hootie & The blowfish but he's just as good by himself.

  • stop fighting about religion on the 1st page of comments. you all have your own believes. live with it!

I love it he is such a great singer :)

  • i love this song too

  • lolz, i like how he talks about whiskey. i guess he couldnt find a rhyme for hennesey.

  • Why would you be so mean and heartless to say something like that, fknbogan?

  • Learn how to read and write English you fucking idiot.

  • our country and our world is based on religion and u kno the great part about it is that even though u think that way God still loves you and theres nothing you can do about it

  • In your mind, your world is based on religion - which religion? Which god? Zeus? Mithras? Gitchi Manitou? If you go to a library, check the mythology section - it's where old religions go to die. Because they are ALL mythologies - naive, wishful thinking and supernatural explanations. And if you think America was founded on religion, you have a serious misunderstanding of the founding principles. So after you leave the mythology section, check out the history section. Religion? Drivel!

  • Well, I'll pray for ya.

  • All religion is is an answer. Different people believe different things. Religion helps people answer life's big questions and to give them comfort when their life isn't so great.

That was a really intolerant thing to say...not all churches are in it for just money. The money they take is essentially given back to the members because that money is spent on maintaining the cleanliness of the church and getting supplies they need. Not all religion is exploitation of God. Most of it isn't.

  • whoa!!!! i didn knw he was black no affense!!!

  • can't stand comments like shnozels...actually doesn't deserve an answer. I LOVE the song and have always liked his style of singing...doesn't matter to me what race he is.

  • Very good

  • Why even respond to comments like that?

He should just be ignored in a setting like this.

In person, maybe a different approach.

    The song's not bad either.

  • well i'm sure Darius doesn't care one way or the other if you buy his record.
