  • Did you all know that RUDY was FICTION?

  • what song is this?

  • Did you all know that the acctual "Rudy" was in the movie as a back up behind "Rudy" 's family?

  • great movie, it taught me that Anything is Possible with hard work

  • This scene puts me in tears everytime I watch it

  • RUDY = All that is pathetic with ND!

  • @mrkitanai1 What? so anyone who's dream is wholly philanthropic is just an idiot? This kid is chasing his goddamn dream! everything he's wanted in life, and he works to get it. sure, charity is nice, but this is what everybody wants right? To overcome everything standing against them for a personal goal. their dream. the one and only thing they want. because goddamnit thats what dreams are for.

  • when he runs on the field... goosebumps

  • I hate football with a passion, but I f*cking love this movie.

  • @AXBHRemastered u hate football... ur probaly not american

  • @TheShawnyoda I am 100% American. I believe my laziness is sufficient enough proof of that.

  • Let's put it this way - if Rudy had spent that same time and effort that he put into football, thousands of hours, into raising money, say, to build or support a soup kitchen, his legacy, his own sense of accomplishment, and his contribution to society would have been MUCH greater than getting into a game for one play.

  • @mrkitanai1 You might be the biggest asshole on YT

  • @mrkitanai1 you might be the dumbest person ever

  • @mrkitanai1 So what have you done for our society?

  • I encourage people to read the book "Strengths Finder 2.0" by Tom Rath. He talks about "Rudy" in his book. While Rath expresses true admiration for Rudy's commitment and hard work, he questions the logic of what he did. Basically, he said that Rudy spent a TREMENDOUS amount of time and effort - thousands of hours, all for what? To be able to enter one, meaningless game for a few seconds?? Rath questions if this was time well spent.

  • The 22 people who disliked this are the top 22 most miserable people on earth

  • @steelerblake no its just the starting offense and starting defense of the other team!

  • MmmmmwwwwwWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWmmmm MW un abrazo Manuel M

  • "Rudy" and "The Lord of the Rings" trilogy was Sean Astin's best movies.

  • @theicchamp06 whoa what about "the goonies"?

  • I'm not the most emotional guy in the world, but this movie breaks out the waterworks like clockwork.

I have no idea what the 22 people who disliked this video are thinking.

I really couldn't care less how accurate this movie was, because the purpose it set out to do (inspire) was accomplished AND THEN SOME.

  • that coach was a dbag lol

  • I can watch this a hundred times in a row and get chills every time when they lift him up and the music starts...

  • What film is this from?

  • @RamekoFX The movie is called Rudy. Starring Sean Astin

  • "Who's the wild man now?!"

  • well the sack and him getting carried off the field was true but the rest was crap but give this guy some credit he worked his ass off

  • If you started rudy in your fantasy league you got one point for the sack

  • OH SAM!

  • Regardless of how accurate this movie was, still one of the best sports films ever made.

  • Comment removed

  • Rudy was offside lol

  • @doggertdog Saw that at the GT ND Game?

  • @jamesbonddarthvader Its a running joke with Michigan fans :P

  • RUDY = FICTION!

  • @greymoose1000

No he wasn't. In fact it wasn't even a kick-off that he got in on, he sacked the QB on his only down played.

Top related vid, 1975 Notre Dame vs. Georgia Tech - The Rudy Play, shows the end of that game.

  • @neuroflare He actually played 2 plays. He didn't get to the QB the first play, but sacked the GT QB on the second.

  • Tim Tebow is like a pro version of Rudy. Like if they should make a movie about Tebow in the future.

  • @Champsinthehouse09 How so Tebow was a star in college. Rudy had to work as hard as he possibly could just to get on the practice squad and dressed for one game.

  • In the movie at the end the qb ignored Dan Devines play and called his own; in reality Montana actually made up his own plays and ignored some of the ones the coach called......and they worked

  • They shouldn't have let that nigger on the campus. He probably stole stuff.

  • this scene seriously chokes me up.

  • my coach nicknamed me rudy because i was the smallest lineman but wasnt afraid of goin up against the big starting a team linemen

  • RUDY = FICTION!

  • There is one thing that cracked me up about the movie "Rudy". I think Rudy was the only young man to graduate college without ever going on a date. Sean Astin was a good looking kid. I assume the real Rudy, Daniel Ruettiger, must have dated when he was in college. He seemed very focused on football and academics. But a young man does not live on just pigskin and books.

  • they make this coach seem like such a dick, but hes not ahaha

  • he acualy got the taclke but someone assited him

  • @kpz1234 yeah, he is looking the wrong way! I never noticed that.

  • a true story but very hollywooded up. the crowd never chanted rudy, he got to the QB at the same time as another guy for the sack and his teammates did not carry him off the field.

  • @cubicleboy actually his teamates did carry him off the field

  • I have never watched this scene without getting the chills, and probably never will. Ever.

  • rudy was off sides!

  • RUDY = FICTION!

  • @greymoose1000 So is your brain.

  • one of the most amazing moments in film history. Perhaps the greatest sports movie ever made. I cry every goddamn time he sacks that qb.

    I hate ND btw :P

  • @livingisaight You've never seen Field of Dreams

  • @doowoppingchainsawer yes i have

  • @livingisaight you obviously haven't

  • @doowoppingchainsawer you know i should kick your ass for being suck a fucking moron. what does it even have to do with my original comment? I said rudy was a great movie that made me cry. what in the fuck does that have to do with field of dreams? I didn't say it wasn't a great movie too. You fucking retard

  • @livingisaight You could try but, believe me, I'd crush you. But my comment wasn't you liking "Rudy" it was about you saying it was the best sports movie of all time which would be "Field of Dreams" or perhaps "Raging Bull."

  • @doowoppingchainsawer that's called an OPINION, you fucking moron. Not a fact

  • @livingisaight no it is a fact. Rudy isn't the best sports movie. It is pretty good but over rated. He jumped on the pile at the end of the real game and they make it look like he got the sack. Funny.

  • I love this scene in the movie its the best

  • my name is rudy:D

  • RUDY RUDY RUDY RUDY RUDY RUDY INNNNNN GOOAAAALLLLLLL

  • In real life Rudy and another guy both got the sack.

  • hay ke darle oportunidades a la humin idad y mirar .....M

  • too bad this will NEVER happen in real life...

  • @kh09100 too bad it already did. this is a true story, bro.

  • @kh09100 truestorybro..

  • @kh09100 are u dumb go and google his name

  • whoa John Favreau was in this?!

  • @bigpapihayes he was like the second main character!

  • its ok if tears come to your eyes watching this.

  • Too bad it can't be just a good story. All the negative comments are disappointing. Did you ever do anything with your life?

  • Typical Hollywood.

Shame on Rudy for continuing this lie

  • Rudy was offsides

  • Rudy didn't even do that in real life.

  • Comment removed

  • @IHawk3ye he did, actually

  • One of the very best underdog movies of all time. Two scenes that always seem to get me everytime when I watch the ending:

Charles Dutton fighting back tears, clapping when the Irish players hoist Rudy.

The final lines on the screen: "Since 1975 no other Notre Dame player has been carried off the field"

If you don't get emotional watching this, you may not be human.

  • How in the hell could 16 people dislike this ... It's RUDY!

  • USC TROJANS!! The epitome of class!! Class personified!

  • by livin y yue en may mundo wwww w wWWWWwwww M.

  • Even if you hate Notre Dame football (as I do) it's impossible for any red-blooded American man to not choke up while watching this.

  • Living life and moving forward.....I realize that this moment is nothing more than spectacular!!!! u can deny it...........................but we all wish for this moment!!!! Great job RUDY!!! Years later I still move in my life because of yours.

  • @1:38 His dad turns around and high fives the real Rudy.

  • Comment removed

  • His brother appears to be watching some other game on his Iphone.

  • damn, samwise can do it all!

  • RUDY RUDY RUDY RUDY RUDY RUDY RUDY!

  • It's a shame Daniel Ruettiger never played in the NFL because he had more heart and determination than many of these so-called talented athletes on the field today.More importantly,he would never have whined and complained about not getting a big enough salary before proving his worth as a player.

  • Oh sam :D

  • Doesnt matter what sport you play, it is every boys dream to win a game and see a father that proud in the stands.

  • Thumbs up if your first name is Rudy.

    (My first name is Rudy)

  • Fun fact: The guy that Rudy sacked was named Rudy Allen.

  • One of the best sports movies of all time :)

  • The Quarter backs name was RUDY ALLEN!! He was our star QB in Columbus Ga at a little school known as Kendrick High school. the two are friends today!

  • @psu5148 I'm fairly certain Rudy was not offsides, but even so he started the tackle which means that he's credited for it. The other guy gets the assist

  • rudy was offsides in real life. and he did not even make the tackle he assisted

  • FIGHT ON!!! USC TROJANS.

  • I have a new favourite movie since last night

  • to that 10year old boy that night 30 years ago, sorry i am really sorry for what you went threw that memory haunt me to this day SO FUCK RODENY JUST A FAILURE, AND CORNBREAD WOW I WILL BLOW YOUR FUCKING HEAD OFF IF YOU WERE STANDING HERE RIGHT NOW THE HATE I HAVE FOR YOU RIDDLE ME THIS THAT NIGHT YOU DIED WHEN U LAID ON YOUR DEATHBED WHAT WERE YOUR THOUGHTS WOW BEATING A KID WITH A CORD LEAVING MARKS ON HIM SUCH A COWARD YOU WERE AND RODNEY YOUR A BUM TOO I GOT BLOOD WALK OUT SMITH IS MY NAME

  • awesome, just plai awesome. This movie is a classic.

  • @RealEstateism Classic piece of shit!

  • Its not fiction, some of it is. He did get the sack, he was carried off the field, he was shorter than most guys, it took him 2 years to get accepted into notredam. Just goes to show you want something that badly you'll get it. You put your mind to it, you'll get it. Even if it is just a moment or a sliver of it.

  • sports movies are more touching than war movies i have to say

  • @americajn768 I wouldn't say that, movies like Saving Private Ryan are pretty emotional as well. Rudy is inspiring, no question about that, but SPR accurately illustrates the absolute determination, persistence and selflessness of the US troops that fought and died for their country and for freedom against the evils of the world at that time.

  • @divebomber101 oh whoops forgot about that

  • RUDY = FIction; ND = Murderers of young Declan.

  • Hunkola's comment is one of the funniest things I've ever read. I laughed out loud for a minute.

  • i jts watched this

  • The "other" Rudy, the one who was sacked is my uncle. I remember being really young and watching the game that won Georgia Tech the National Championship with him and my dad, but I never even knew he played until a couple years after the movie came out and both Rudy's met. I've never seen the movie, but, I'm intrigued by the comments so I will. Crazy to see the role he played in a big story.

  • @AntL Your uncle is connected to this movie and you've never seen it? I would have rented it the day I heard that story. I call bs.

  • @doowoppingchainsawer

Well, the only thing inaccurate was that Rudy Allen is actually my cousin. He's my grandmother's brother's son, also named Rudy. I've always called him my "uncle" and did so out of habit. I didn't notice I actually typed that until your response. So my apologies there. If you don't believe me, that's fine lol. I just wanted to finally see the scene and felt like leaving a comment.

  • @AntL it isn't that I don't believe you. It just seems like something you would have rented as soon as you found out about it. You know?

  • @AntL Rudy allen was the GT QB? or did they call Rudy Ruttiger Rudy Allen? i'm confused....who's rudy allen?

  • @quincee33

Rudy Allen was the GT QB

  • @AntL okay, in the movie RUDY the QB's jersey said Barrett i think.

  • @quincee33 yeah, but i8f you watch the original footage, the announcer says, RUDY ALLEN

  • @EDMproductions ya for sure, just thought i'd mention that.....and was the italian RB for ND real? How bout jamie O'Hara played by vince vaughn?

  • @quincee33 i am not so sure, i think it is someone like, o'locko. here i will give you the link.

    watch?v=TbjXUByXU_U&feature=related

  • @quincee33 and this one too. it is a guy named slagger

    watch?v=DJ32qPPixR4&feature=related

  • @quincee33 my bad, it's a guy named hevins

  • I love the sound score in this classic film.

  • its a good thing that they were wearing layers in the crowd, his dad was layin licks

  • @SuncastStudios haha thats funny

  • He was offsides

  • AAAAAAHHHHHH you cut it short.............

  • Fact: THE MOOSE OF USC IS successful, wonderful, handsome, talented, intelligent, and all good men of ND wish to emulate him in every way. Fight ON USC BABY!

  • @greymoose1000 lets say the movie rudy was fake? who cares? it's one of the greatest movies ever made either way

  • @pats4lifebb Typical ND DOMERS! Have to come up with some fiction like Rockne telling the team to win one for the GIPPER! Jesus, can the Irish ever tell the truth?

  • @greymoose1000 YOU'RE RIGHT MY "TROJAN" BRO! And speaking of the truth, why can't the inbreds in *ubarn (AL) accept the fact that the HBO 4 weren't lying? We all know the players of *ubarn (AL) HAVE TO BE PAID, or else *ubarn (AL) wouldn't even be able to sign a bum because not even bums want to live in that backwoods, boring, Mayberry prison!

    FIGHT ON, BABY!

  • "The greatest pleasure in life is doing what people say you cannot do."

  • My eyes water every time I watch this movie it's just so inspiring to me, and probably to anyone who watches it, how can there be any dislike this!?!?!?

People need to stop being smartasses, this is what motivates me to not stop at anything to become a Sports Broadcaster one day

  • @greyez7 Your eyes are watering probably due to the fact that you have a bad case of the flu. Fight ON USC TROJANS BABY!!!

  • @greymoose1000

Hey jackass I'm a huge USC fan, its ignorant idiots like you that focus on the jersey instead of the movie

  • @greyez7 Keep crying, whose stopping you?

  • @greymoose1000 moron, there's a difference between crying and tearing up, Me:2, Jackass: 0

  • @greyez7 No real Man of Troy would ever tear up for this piece of shit.

  • @greymoose1000 is there a movie about a player from usc? maybe spielberg will make one called:

USC: Cheaters, Drug Dealers, and Crybabies

  • @IrishFan247 Fact: Pulp Fiction starring John Travolta. Fiction: R-U-D-Y.

  • @greymoose1000 fact: youre so ignorant and arrogant you just bashed a trojan fan. fiction: you truly know college football

  • @greymoose1000 RIGHT AGAIN MY "TROJAN" BRO!! Just as no human being with a functioning brain would want to live in that godawful, backwoods, Mayberry prison known as *ubarn (AL) either -- except for crack whores, inbreds, and rednecks. Of course the operative word here is functioning brain.

    FIGHT ON, BABY!

  • @graymoose1000 UAT!

  • @greymoose1000 YOU'RE RIGHT MY "TROJAN" BRO!!! And I hope you remember *ubarn (AL) is still the most backwoods and boring so-called college town in America!

    FIGHT ON, BABY!

  • More fiction from ND with this flick!!!

  • fuck notre dame

  • @straken9k1 haha c'mon just enjoy the movie for what it is. a dude reaching his dream

  • Everyone defeats their old demons with one tackle

  • 14 people??? are you kidding??? how could you dislike this??? must be georgia tech fans

  • one of the greatest sports films of all time

  • This is absolutely one of the most underrated sports films of all time. It's the football version of Hoosiers - even used one of the same actors and the same music for some scenes. I cry at the end EVERY TIME, even if I pick up the movie near the end. This is one of the top 5 sports films of all time in my opinion. Hoosiers, Breaking Away, and Rudy... all Hoosier based classics!

  • The part that always gets me is when they show the people that helped him along the way cheering him on. And seeing his dad. Can you imagine how proud he must have felt? Ohhh man........... ='(

  • I just watch this movie on Encore....I'm 26 and every time I watch this movie I cry. This is by far the most underrated sports movie ever. Wonderful movie.

  • 14 people never followed their dreams

  • RUDY PLAYED ASS-BACK. EVERYTIME HE GOT OFF THE BENCH TO ASK THE COACH IF HE COULD PLAY..THE COACH SAID "GET YOUR ASS BACK".

  • he was off sides

  • Comment removed

  • Yea overton, Kordell made you cry though.

  • @souperic DENARD ROBINSON MADE U CRY

  • If you don't tear up during this scene you have no soul.

  • I DIDNT CRY AT THEEND OF THIS MOVIE BECAUSE IAM A MICHIGAN FAN!!!!!!! WOOPED NOTRE DAMES ASS 2 YEARS IN A ROW

  • whats he doing asking the coaches what do I do if hes in college ball?

  • @StonagePwnage probably cause it was his first time in a college game and he is a walk on. You should prob watch the movie
