  • Keep trying hard to get the あ... it doesn't matter how many times i try it still doesn't seems right....

  • god i really suck at this >.<

  • Sumimasen, Eigogo wakariasuka?

  • 2 pages only with あ. xD

You have to admit that your い is ugly. :D

But the rest is perfect. :)

  • @anarhy09 that i is almost textbook like, a slightly more curved second stroke and that's how you find it in japanese textbooks

  • العلم يؤخذ يالتهدؤه

  • the first one "a" is so hard :s I'll keep trying...

  • thank you

  • DOMO ARIGATO GOZAIMASHITA *_*

  • How do I put this? Is this the exact way to write, or is the little "flick" at the end of a line more like a flourish of the pen that adults can do naturally like adult English writers use "joined up" handwriting? Is it the same letter if I draw a smooth line without the little "flick".

Secondly, does this flourish come from the fact people used caligraphy brushes in Japanese history and it would be where the brush made and left contact with the paper?

  • @loquatiousbadger These videos show you the correct stroke order of each kana & they ARE ALSO the exact way to write each kana for regular writing, not calligraphy. This is similar to English penmanship with the alphabet. We learn to write each letter correctly then begin to find our own natural writing style (w/ a little less freedom in Japanese). As far as the so called "flick" goes, it is mainly for Japanese calligraphy & there are many variations of the "flick" with different brush strokes.

  • @ShoyuJapanese

Thank you! I have been practicing hard these past few days, and my strokes are beginning to look almost as neat as the typed version, but I shall keep going until I can make them look more "curvy"!

  • @loquatiousbadger Im not adult and write joined up ^^

  • なんで醤油なの?w

  • thank you so much! the stroke order drives me insane because I can never figure it out. it was also helpful knowing how to pronounce it.

  • arigato gozaimasu!

    ontoonee taskataa!

  • this clears alot up for me, i was worried about the exact precision if the strokes, and also the shape, Thanks!

  • wow your "a" is beautiful (it's not to repeat the 1st comment, it really is). my doubt is if the "i" can have less space in-between the strokes. that's why im watching different videos of writing hiragana. good one!

  • that "あ" was BEAUTIFUL!!!
