LOVE how slightly amateurish she is in her movement, eye contact! It's the beginning of her career and so that's just perfect. Like the guy said at the Grammies, it's not about perfection.....that's popular music.
I really feel sorry those who were not born at the time when this type of music was first heard. Maybe it touches you or perhaps not but one thing is for sure, I (being an old fogie) can tell you that you can never EVER feel it like those of us who remember. The times were indeed magical (good & bad)...
Damn!..All I got to say to you young whipper snappers is..... Nanna...Nanna...Naaa... Naaaaaa!
@creaturebotman This song takes me back to childhood, nothing in particular just mom and dad , mainly mom just playing these records over and over...so as i grew older into my teenage years I knew these songs. now I am in my early 40's and I find myself re discovering them and I dont feel the urge to turn then off anymore and definitely not like i do with a lot of the artists of the last 15 years. great voice
Does it get any better than this?...Dionne is out there with Dusty and Marilyn McCoo as far as voices go...all class and talent...not like today's androgenous rubbish!
I've seen Dionne in a small venue at a Pa college in the mid 60's. Only a pure talent could mesmerize a crowd with only her voice, a drummer, a stand up base and a piano. Perfect in every way.
on this video she loos really creppy and scary.. the 60s in black and white looks so damn scary.. also she looks really young here..i bet her little sweet angelic pussy was nice and super tight with tons of pink layers
To me the sound of the early sixties is all about Burt Bacharach and Hal David. They wrote the songs that defined the sound of that era. This is one of their absolute best songs and Dionne sang it better than anyone.
I hope you don't mind me mentioning this on your site. I need to get this message out to all who love Dionne's music as I do.
Dionne is giving a concert on Jan 9th, 2011 at The Apollo Victoria, London to support World Hunger Day. Empowering People. Ending Hunger. I don't care about age, but I agree, it touches me, been there, more raw talent was inplanted back there, for sure more then now.

En 1966, à Colmar, je l'ai vu en concert ... avec The SHADOWS et Cliff RICHARD
en final.... la classe !!! cela n'existe pratiquement plus maintenant...
C'étaient des concerts au vrai sens du terme ... pas du guignol...

Dionne is a gorgeous woman with a beautiful voice.
BTW, I'm a 60-yo man.
Great song.
