  • Pinocchio would have been an awesome whiskey smeller.

  • LOL Imagine the smell in his office, whiskey all around :D :D

  • Well, it's pretty hard to argue with "The Nose", but I got to say: Imagine you are tasting a Whisky with four friends and you swirle around whisky in every glas and then throw it out. and this you do the next day with new glasses. then you have spilled a lot of whisky on the ground and surely wasted money.

We don't get free whisky o a daily base, richard, and not all have the money to this expand. For me, it works very well with fressh and clean water, so I don't have to share with my cat.

  • whisky sucks vodka owns

  • @kevschka1 Wodka is tasteless shit...

  • THIS NIGGA IS DRUNK HAHAHAHAA

  • Whiskey on the office floor. Such great comedy.

  • This guy is amazing.

  • is it only me, or is the Audio of the Vid totally messed up?!

  • I orgasmed just by watching.

  • sued for threatening my life at 0:40

  • In think water ruins the taste

  • @keesurt a little bit of water will allow the softer flavors to arise, to give it a fuller flavor, its not always needed, for mild whiskys for example. In the case of a high proof however you add a little water to it, it will lower the proof, and allow these subtle notes to pass through.

  • Abe chutiye.. waste mara whisky.

  • Were you drunk when you shot the video ?

  • Totally different from Jim Murray's way of nosing and tasting whisky.

  • what a kook

  • Amazing!

  • I dont think alcoholics cares about the glas part.

  • if we add a cube of ice instead of water, is it going to give us same effect?

when do we usually add ice to whiskey? what is the perfect temperature of whisky? how and where whiskey must be stored? sorry for asking so much questions, but I really need the experience of an expert like you!

  • I don't always drink whiskey, but when I do, I throw it on the floor. - most interesting man in the world. -

  • what'll we sip next !

  • Master Blender Richard, are you answering your own youtube posts? Or you have someone do it for you?

  • Should we do the same when we taste cask stregnth whiskies? Wouldn't nose be paralyzed?

  • So does this mean I do this to 64 yr old whiskey

  • i want to get wasted with this guy.

  • @cjguitar2891 lol same

  • I would never pour good whisky on the ground...especially if it only gives a slight improvement to the nose.

  • He probably drinks about 0.2l out of a 0.7l bottle.

    The rest is you wasted......

  • For 20 years I thought myself a whisky connoisseur but this man has taught me much.

  • I tried smelling my whiskey but a booger fell out.....

  • This is ... incredible.

  • You are hilarious

  • Your YouTube videos changed the way i drink scotch and I share them every chance I get.

  • Man, you're fuckin' hilarious! I love you!

  • 1:41

You go "sorry, I just pissed myself".

  • Great video thanks Richard - my whiskey is much more enjoyable now!

  • My buddies and I follow his technique, and with good reason this man come from 3 generations of Master Blenders. Everything he says is the gospel truth as far as Scotch is concerned. Especially using the type of glass he is using. For a long time my buddies and I used sangria glasses cause of the similar shape they have to the one he uses, but once we found the correct glass we can not go back to anything but this.

Question: What cigars go great with which Scotch?

  • @pmfrankcabrera

"...my buddies and I used sangria glasses..."

    Into the eyes! \ /

  • Aye ,just snort it man..

  • This guy doesn't just drink scotch his on fucking LSD too...

  • This guy is so great

  • This guy is nuts. Throws away Whiskey and then adds a cup of water to the second glass. Swirls it violently, and in the process spills some more! Maniac!

  • Throw Whisky on the floor?! That's blasphemy!

  • I don't wanna be the man/woman who has to clean his carpet...

But I'll stick to his tricks and advises.

  • You hold the whisky away from your hand when nosing to avoid influence from your hand. But then you hold your finger into the water. Doesn't that influence the taste just as much?

  • I love how uncareful he's being about spilling, it adds to his jolliness somehow.

  • This guy is awesome lol

  • Love this guy!....No pretense ,in fact he'll kill ya;)

  • what an idiot. hope for him he was drunk - otherwise this acting identifies him as uber-douche

  • @skedzinger You are an uber-douche, for using the word uber-douche. He's got the best job in the world, and you are jealous

  • Thank you for the instructions. In your opinion what is the whiskey you like best if you had to chose from Ballantines, J&B, Jim Beam and Jack Daniels? You said to mix something like 35% of water with it, doesn't that change the drinking experience by making the whiskey less strong?

  • I love this little guide, it mixes humor and expertise in a great way.

It also makes me want to discover the secret joys of whisky - currently my tongue and tastebuds still go a little haywire and i'm not so good at picking out the individual flavours but i'm determined not to be put off.

  • Whoa you spilled a lot of whiskey... your office must stink to high heaven

  • Hello Richard, Like your videos. I have one question. I use a glencarin glass for my whiskey, and a lot of experts say that the glencarin is the best glass for Scotch. One of the experts was ralfy.com, who suggested that people should use that glass for both blended and single malt whiskey. What is your opinion. Thanks W.T.

  • this guy must take the bus a lot...

  • Hello, one question.. how do you identify the aromas of dark chocolat, vaunilla, dark fruits, etc? I´m trying to do it but i feel dificulty to do it! Can you show me some tips? and another question... I love Glenmorangie whiskys (quinta ruban). What Whyte and Mackay whisky you recommend?

  • you are pure class my friend ! Thank you for helping me TASTE whiskey/and whisky, rather than DRINKING whiskey/whisky. Once again, pure class.

  • another thing, how areyou measureing the water validity by putting your finger in it?

  • there is no reason for tossing the whisky to the floor. i wish that would stop.

  • @DJICEFALCON i would just throw it into a different bottle :D

  • I have now come home. After years of drinking all sorts of things, just because they were free behind the bar where I work at night, I have now been reborn into the world of Scottish Whisky. As a full blooded Scotsman I am so impressed by this man and what he is doing for the industry. I live in Sydney now but want to badly get involved with this industry, with this company and with this charismatic spokesman. If there is anything I can do, please get in touch.

  • Hello.

    How are ya?

Quite well. Thank you very much.

  • I'll be damn if that aint the romeo y julieta short churchill tubos next to the computer? =D A nice whisky, but even nicer cigar =)) Thank you for your videos, you really open a new world of spirits for me =)

  • I'll be damn if that aint the romeo y julieta short churchill tubos next to the computer? =D A nice whisky, but even nicer cigar =))

  • Is there any reasons you make that noise when you taste the whisky?

  • @Nashtak Because I love the taste! That's it! Hold it a second for every year, swirl it around, but I still get excited by my whiskies. Each one is like a first kiss!

  • @masterblenderrichard I love the passion!

  • @Nashtak he is cuming in his pants while he is tasting that shit...

  • He'll kill ME? My wife'll kill HIM if she sees him even suggesting I throw booze on her floors! His nosing technique reminds me of how dogs get acquainted.

  • @MuKen108 Don't ever dare to say shit about Mr. Patterson, please.

  • @Ichnos76 Thanks for sticking up for me!

  • best job ever

  • Water on Whisky will let come out the real hidden taste...

  • I think this guy just earned himself another sale.... What will it be.... Whyte and Mackay 30 year old? ;-)

  • @FireWaia WHISKY!Not Whiskey.

  • @Ichnos76 at the time, i was drinking it.

  • @Ichnos76 actually it's spelled both ways... Jack Daniels and knob creek spell it "whiskey" on their labels and crown royal spells it "whisky".... just for a few that come to mind.

  • @Lars1540 yeah the scots and the canadians spell it whisky while the irish spell it whiskey. i think whiskey is generally used in the US as well as all those Ameerican bourbons seem to have it with an e

  • @FireWaia Water opens up the flavours in many whiskies.

  • @masterblenderrichard yes, a drop or two.

  • @masterblenderrichard Do you drink anything other than Whyte and Mackay?

  • @masterblenderrichard Well, I've watched videos saying not to put ice in the whiskey because the ice melts and the water messes up the taste. Is it really just the fact that it makes the whskey look, how can I word it, cheap?

  • @gunut4

There is different ways to drink whisky.

water can be added to adjust the taste.

Ice can be added to chill.

Or drink straight for full flavor.

If you add ice then you must add a very small amount of whisky or you will just be drink ice flavor and that is not nice.
