games and soundtracks were the best in that era, the technical limitations really challenged the developers, the results were so many different games, great soundtracks, and as i said before different gamestyles but fucking FLUENT gamestyles. the last 10 years there have been like 1 or 2 inventions and everybody copies it. 1985-1999 (release Q3, counterstrike, UT) were the releases of true gaming gold. nowadays its kid's shit with laggy, blury, and unprecise shitty controls and dumbeddown games.

i remember playing a game where main character is: a half naked bald guy, with black pants and with only eyes on his face and maybe ears. he used a staff to fight. there was a level where you must go through firing building. you could climb on ceiling and mostly everywhere to pass the level, then there was somekind of forest level, where you have to get to the top of the really tall tree to face a boss. if anyone remember this, maybe someone could tell it to me, because i really miss that game.!

@txfnero well one reason I think is because games onthe nes and snes and games from that time period didn't have as much capability to save progress as games today while games today have better graphics and still the potental for the same diffulty the abaility to constantly save games allows you to be almost guranted to be able to beat them on every playthrough thus greatly reduceing replayability on these older (nes and snes) games you rarely had that so it would keep you coming back
