I test drove a Rx8 2004 the other day and the car doesnt hesitate to spin the tires going into second specially around 8800 RPM on a standard transmission. Also the standards claim to have more horse power which is crazy... Also If you stay into it you can burn the tires hard going into 3rd gear if you know how to drive a standard ;)

I haven't heard great things about the STI.. Aparently the WRX is about 0.2 seconds quicker to 60 and a more comfortable ride... That new 370Z looks MEAN and I am going to assume that it is fast, I have found the Rx8 is just so balanced that its a pleasure to drive.... albeit that the gas mileage is a little bit of a downer and if you are over 6'2 do not get the sunroof or you'll be banging your head lol

Exhausts and intakes don't do much for the rx8. The HKS Hipower works well on a naturally aspirated rx8 but when used in conjunction with a turbo the gains will be significant.

the intake worked wonders for me. much louder and i did notice an increase in power. i got someone to rev my car a little and even from the back i still hear the intake over the exhuast! some exhuasts claim 3-4 gains while others claim 7-8. i wouldn't pay $600-$800 for either of those gains, but with the intake if i could squeeze 9-10 horsepower gains for $450 i'd buy it. think you could give me a wild guess as to what gains you got?
