My piano teacher used to say, it's easy to play notes. You just plant one finger after the other, and with enough practise, anyone can do it. But when someone plays piano, not just notes, that's when the true musician shows.

And she's right, I understand now. You're able to add that thing, that makes the music come alive, like a good story can make words come alive.

I just don't really like the piano version of the song, i guess. When I think of this song, I think of Disney, Lion King and of childhood. And the way I remember it from the Lion King, it was much more ' airy'', light. This version feels so heavy, and dramatic.

But again, nothing down on your performance, it was great!

IMHO a good attempt but I think you follow the sheet too rigidly - you need to add more passing notes to make the piece more flowing, and don't play the octaves in the base so loudly, it makes the piece sound disjointed. (look at kylelandry's video of this song to see what it sounds like when you improvise a lot)
