As I understand it, this is a currently being constructed (in other words, work in progress) uniform soon to be a Captain of the 29th Foot in the American revolution (not a marine uniform). It lacks the epaulet (just one on the right shoulder), the spatter dashes or (more appropriately for the 29th) gaiters, as well as the piping and sash.
In truth, the uniform is going to be a bit less ambitious than when I first posted this. It's going to be enlisted (the gorget is going away). The piping was silver for officers, but rarely seen on uniforms of the 29th in America.
If you mean by the wrong era, this is not Napoleonic, and the second ship displayed is the Surprise. Granted, from the film Master and Commander and refitted, but the original ship was the HMS Rose, a Revolution era frigate. The other ship shown is the Californian, which is not era but houses Revolutionary war living history programs for fifth grade children.
Ignore the experts...At least you went to the effort of putting the uniform on and actually doing something...What have they done eh?

Did the 29th not have gold lace on the officers coat?
