  • In southeastern, Pennsylvania we have had a rather MILD Fall / Winter. The gnats seem to be fascinated with one of our windows and they continue to swarm it and eventually find there way inside. I have checked the weather stripping, no obvious places I can see. I have cleaned the window, inside and out as well as the tracks with bleach and then nuked with with Raid flying insect and it seems to slow them down. I am going to try your solution and have put bowls outside and inside the window.

  • @SherlockHolmesofUK There is an evergreen type busy just outside the window so I am guessing they may be nesting in there. Our issue is not food related. I have taken a cup of bleach too and put down the bathroom sink, the drain to the shower and one in the toilet bowl and used a brush to spread it around.

If you have any advice, suggestions I would love to hear them!

  • that gnat... *puts on sunglasses* just took a nap

  • @PyroManiacFagumz hahahahaha

  • Thank you!! I am one those people that flails my arms around, cursing, hoping my anger will drive the gnats away. My husband just laughs- because, of course, they never seem to bother him. I am going to try this RIGHT NOW! Thanks =)

  • @TheShayminfreak Thanks for the tip and watching and commenting on the video.

  • @badboyorganics well yesterday i found out what the gnat culprit was! i didnt know i put a bag with a piece of fruit in it into my pantry!! oh it was hell finding out thats where they were coming from, it was so nasty. they are gone now, cleaned it out then put the apple cider vinegar/soap out to kill a couple that was left. for how ever else that is reading this....THEY ARE COMING FROM SOMEWHERE SO FIND OUT FAST OR THEY WILL BE YOUR PERMANENT COMPANY LOL

  • @danithestormchaser yeah, i didn't get gnats until i bought some house plants. i think it's happened before. better not to have plants in the first place.

  • @daveheel We usually bring them in from the grocery store with our fruits and veggies.

    Thanks for watching and commenting.

  • I have been fighting in the "Gnat Wars" for 10 years now, My secret weapon that I use is simple. Take a glass, pour some wine in it (acidic) and stir in a bit of real sugar (not Splenda). Put plastic wrap over the lid and use a toothpick to poke about 5-10 holes in the top of it. Set it and forget it. You will eventually win.

  • @lespaul678 awesome tip. Thanks for watching, commenting and sharing.

  • your not attacking the problem which is the knat larvea that are feeding on the roots-use aza-max or azatrol

  • @sleepingowl1 actually they were on the bananas and we disposed of them.

  • @badboyorganics Thank you, I tried, it's working, but there are still gnats around. I used apple cider vinegar and red wine, but it's not attracting a lot of them. Maybe I'm not using enough

  • @CharRTroy Try different ratios. Yours might have a more sophisticated taste. :-)

  • if a gnat is flyin around ur house wat kind of soap do u use with vinegar juz 2 kill a gnat?

  • @ajose231 any liquid soap will do. Once they get in the concosion, then they will not be able to get out and drown.

  • the best kind of gnat is a dead gnat

    A - FUCKING - MEN brother

  • @livingisaight LOL.....

    Devin

  • for plants with fungus gnats, put a thick layer of pure sand (you can buy decorative desert sand form a store in a bag if you want) and dig out a little of the top of the soil and replace it with bone dry desert sand and don't water the sand and let the soil below dry out some. fungus gnat larva thrive in over-saturated soil. Fruit flies are a different story.

  • See this works but it takes a couple days to actually get rid of them. When u put it where they are they seem to fly around it and play around the bowl forever. Some don't even care about the shit lol. I had a few that were more attracted to my lcd screen than the vinigar.

  • @danithestormchaser

Have you tried my suggestion in this video?

  • This works well, I also use an old bannana peal in a sandwhich bag. Put some Small holes at the top of the bag the peal attracks them then you got them.

  • @marthale7 Excellent tip. I'm going to use this in our worm bins since the gnats have gotten bad in the worm bin.

    Thanks!

  • I would take a can of beer & leave it open over night & let it go flat.

  • I liked it but I think old beer wodks better, but I didn't thimk about the soap part. Thanks for the idea.

  • @35LoveBug Old beer? Explain what would be considered old beer?

    thanks!
