This game loves confusing weapons that people use, regardless of what they actually use. Selan is a swordswoman who always has a rod, Dekar's sprite had an axe despite him using swords and talking about using swords, and now Artea despite being established as a bow wielder in the last game, apparently uses a sword.

I'm pretty sure Artea is female in the German version. At least I always assumed that. Maybe because of the artworks? I don't know. It's the same as with the sprite in Secret of Mana. It's clearly female in the German version (we can have differences in gender in many of our nouns, like the one for "sprite", that's why I know).

Ents are a race that are basically huge sentient trees from the Lord of the Rings books. I'm not really sure why they call trees "Trents" in some games. A google search didn't give me anything linking it to trees...
