Laporte has the same behaviour as EOS. Argentina beat them 4 out of the last 5 times and France victory was by 1 point. The only ones surprised about the 17-12 were the French, if you read Loffreda's comments prior to the game he was sure the Pumas will win.
I sincerely think and want Argentina to win. They have the best defense in the tournament so far and they managed to score quite well.
If you look at the stats so far, Argentina's are almost identical to South Africa and at the end, I think is all about perception and belief from your players.
I think Loffreda managed to get that from the Pumas, if EOS can get that from Ireland on Sunday, it will be a great game.

true, if i wasnt irish id be supporting the pumas... they have a great chance to make the semis at least and deserve to make the final. the IRB have been screwing them over for years and they are the best improved team in the world.
they should be in the 6nations (based in portugal, be great for them too). pumas would be in the top3 evey year and would inject some much needed life into the competition.
I was told that Spain and Belgium offered them a place to based their squad and participate on the 6N (if they ever get invited), but I think they want to be part of the 3N. They will get kicked around for 3 yrs but they will improve even more.

Actually, all the 6N teams thought that but it is clear that EOS does not have the vision neither the capacity to adapt Ireland to the different teams they are facing. I am sorry, but Argentina will have you for lunch Sunday.

Anyway, hope springs eternal, this team (on paper) can win the game to go through... all that's needed now is form, belief and a heavy dose of good luck...

Well, agree to disagree about sunday's result... i have to stay optimistic!
But i agree that a lot of blame can be placed on EOS.
But the main issues I have with him are:
- extremely short-sighted selection policy
- refusal to pick players on form
- tragic non-use of the bench

What can I say? Argentina-Ireland has turned into one of the great classics of the RWC (at least on Quarterfinals)
I thought the coming game was going to be another one.
When I saw EOS team selection I knew the Pumas will win solid. The guy has no plan B and doesn't use his bench other than for sitting.
