This is fake. I worked at McD's for several years, and I can assure you the food most certainly does decompose. And it doesn't take years, either. The first signs of decomposition begin appearing in about a week (depending on how humid your area is - more humid = mold grows faster; less humid = mold grows slower). I'm not saying it's good to eat. Just that the video is a fake, and the food really does decompose normally.

Back in the early 80's late 70's the claim was that McDonalds added earth worms to their hamburger meat, and they were sued for claiming to have 100% beef. Now today, you are claiming this crap. That is the key, how quickly it dries out. Many things will not rot or mold if dried out quickly... including food fairly universally considered "good" like fruits and vegetables. @amdaglas Don't be a fool. Those dozens of chemicals that preserve the burger and make it "immortal" does it by destrying bacteria (microscopic biological organisms). Your are a biological organism and the preservatives will kill you sowly since the burger is loaded with preservatives.

@kjordon1 i apologise if this sounds like an absurd statement but judging by how you felt it necessary to explain what bacteria are i feel it necessary to point out that chemicals such as ammonia are only used to reduce the risk of salmonella, a side effect of this allows more of the animal to be used. these chemicals listed if you didn't read it are from pesticide "residue" in food... something you are likely to find in every single thing you eat that needs pesticide to keep the crop clean. . .

BS video. It lists all these pesticides but guess what? Even if you never eat fast food, unless you grow your own in a fully enclosed greenhouse using perfectly pure water, perfectly pure fertilizer, perfectly pure soil (!!) you are bound to have chemicals present. To list things McD doesn't deliberately add is nonsensical.
The reason not to consume this fast food is different. Lack of vitamins and minerals combined with excessive salt, sugar & fat, but many eat that way at home regardless.

That is the key, how quickly it dries out. Many things will not rot or mold if dried out quickly... including food fairly universally considered "good" like fruits and vegetables. Put fish or chicken out where it dried completely and it will age about like the burger patty did, though it helps that most things from the supermarket are now injected with saline solution.
Put a MCDonald's hamburger in a bucket of water and THEN see what happens over time. However,

If someone is foolish enough to regularly eat the "food" served at places like McDonald's, let them. That leaves real and wholesome foods for the rest of us who don't pour soda in our Lucky Charms for breakfast (exaggeration to make a point). McDonald's is straight up disgusting, I have not eaten their food since I was 16 (I am now 27). If someone is too lazy to look into what they are eating or just don't care then leave them be, lol. It only shows that the hygiene is so good, the food so sterile that drying out wins over decomposition - the burgers mummify.
No bacteria to do the job.
The list of chemicals is irrelevant without stating the levels. If you count a few molecules, almost every substance is everywhere.
The burger gets digested because your body supplies the enzymes and bacteria.
So I see no problem.
