Saint John Bosco, a priest who loved like Christ, who saw Christ in the poor, and a priest who always had a cassock on, even when playing football with the boys.
If anyone has ever read about St.John Bosco's vision of hell then you probably know how serious the whole thing is but there is one moment i find extremely hillarious:
The moment when St.John Bosco visits hell and suddenly he says something like:
@Tristan2020CP I know. I went to DBTC. The school was very fortunate and blessed to have the relic on its first week of the new year! Too bad it was only from January 6 to 8, right? I got the chance to approach the relic twice. It's really amazing that you feel like St. John Bosco is really a father of yours once you get to see the relic personally.
Nowadays, the Salesians are still practicing this philosophy. Although, they have expelled quite a number of students because some of them have become "uncontrollable" for the Salesians. Although I still see your point there, but think about it: They do give the students a lot of chances to change... perhaps what you are saying applies only to some Salesians but not all of them
I am so blessed to be a part of the Salesian family. I study in a Salesian school here in the Philippines and St. John Bosco's relic just visited our school! Don Bosco's teachings helped me to change. VIVA DON BOSCO!
my daughter has just read a fiction book which included mention of Don Bosco and she was so fascinated by him, she wants to know all about his life. I was thrilled to find this, she loved it. Thanks
Very wonderful, thanks so much for sharing. I was blessed enough to be able to see Don Bosco's relics today in Southern California, his relics are here in the US for a very short visit. I appreciate you taking the time (quite a while I'm sure!) to upload this to share with all of us, God bless you :)
The Rector Fr. Paul of PANJIM GOA has become so fat eating like a glutton the free food of the society that he has forgotten the rules laid down by St. John Bosco.
The Goan Salesians are living a luxurious lives, they are non caring and wait for a simple opportunity to expel pupils (children) The rector in PANJIM GOA Fr. Paul and Fr. Jose the hostel incharge expelled a pupil who was picked up from the road as a kid and looked after since a little child for silly reason. I think Don Bosco would have expelled these two priests
I must say I agree with dj9769. The present day Salesians expel immediately unruly or bad children from their schools completely in contrast to what St. John Bosco did. He would convince and save such children and give them special Love. I know quite a few cases with evidence that occured in DON BOSCO high school and DON BOSCO HOSTEL in PANJIM GOA- Menino
@MeninodeValpoi Not all the Salesians do that. I am a student of a Salesian school in the Philippines and the Salesian sisters and fathers still teach Don Bosco's teachings... to run, jump, and play but never sin. Viva Don Bosco!
@flamestar04 Yes Boss, I know not all the Salesians, These are the Salesians from GOA only who are like that. The Italian, British, American etc Salesians are so holy and so helpful that they love the flock of the Lord and not themselves or their luxuries. That is why I said that St, John Bosco would have expelled these two priests for such behaviour towards children whom he loved so much. I am only talking about the Salesians of GOAN origin. Just visit Goa one day & see yourself their arrogancy
@dominicsaviodevotee: Please do post more life of saints movies..you do inspire me and I'm sure a lot more to live saintly with virtues Jesus Christ has taught us. Our good Lord uses you in this little deed yet with great impact .
I sincerely admire what Don Bosco has done for the poor & abandoned children. He is such an inspiration. BUT, what has happened to the current Don Bosco educational philosophy? Unlike how it was founded, a student that is found to be "unruly and disobedient" gets expelled and left to his own devices. Where is the conversion? Shouldn't the current Salesians be practicing what they preach?
I'm not being a rebel. I'm just stating an undeniable fact.
im a boscinian too, this story makes me cry during our religion class on don bosco victorias :( i really love Don Bosco for he changed many boys even me... his life story changed me
Some one put "Therese" back up, a week after it was taken down, and now Luke filmes took it down again just this morning. I'm sure the devil must be dancing with joy.
