  • ok this is interesting,my previous post just vanished!! okay here i go again!! kent i only lost 3 lousy kilos during induction which is frustrating cuz i read ppl lose whopping 7-8 kgs on induction alone! my weight has stalled pathetically & even with regular exercise now i havent experienced ne new weight loss in two weeks now! :( im super discouraged! all i introduced new to my diet were rye crackers with creme cheese & olives, thats it..plz help

  • hi kent im super disappointed & frustrated in myself at the moment...i lost a lousy 3 kilos during the induction phase(& i read ppl lose like 7-8 kilos on induction alone!) i haven't lost any weight after that at all,all i introduced new in my OWL phase were olives and rye crackers that i have with creme cheese cuz i was tired of eating string cheese all the time :( ive also started exercising regularly but the scale STILL wont budge & im not noticing ne loss in inches or anything as well :(

  • @believinatkins My suggestion would be to watch the Post Induction Stall video and the OWL videos.

Rye crackers are one of the later things to add (whole grain rung - Rung 9).

The weight loss stall could be the body just adjusting to the weight loss in Induction. 3 kilos is still weight off.

  • Great video! Very helpful!

  • I need help!! I finished induction and lost 15 pounds and u cant tell not even in my clothes. Now im on OWL. Problem is im eating the same thing everyday (I need something new) but im a picky eater. Through induction I never went over 10 carbs, cause i dont like veggies or peppers, seafood etc... Is it bad not eating til the limit of your carbs? What exactly can u eat on OWL? I am just stuck cause there is no store that sells the atkins cooking stuff u need. Please Help!!

  • You don't "need" anything. Check out my "OWL End of a good thing?" video where I describe each carbohydrate rung and how to progress through them. The first week is just extra vegetables. From there you add:

    2. Dairy

    3. Nuts and Seeds

    4. Berries and Melons

There should be lots of things that starts entering your diet -- things like blueberry mock danish or strawberry and cream cheese. None of these involve anything more exotic than the exterior of the grocery store in the staples.

  • Don't be so quick to give up on veggies... Check out my faux rice and fauxtatoes recipe videos as unique ways to get in vegetables in your diet.

  • Great video : ) I liked the format! Very good points : )

  • I admire you so much because You lost all your weight, and you didn't just stop trying to help people. I know of some folks that lost all their weight, and now they never make videos. You give back to people. Kudos :)

  • You are welcome, and I am still waiting on your return to making videos. :-D I give back because others first gave to me.

  • Great video, Kent! Thank you!

  • You are very welcome, Christina.

  • can you tell me if "not " eating enough can slow down weight loss ? ive only been losing a pound a week for the last 3 weeks and was just thinking i may not be eating enough..some days i have 12-15 carbs to try to speed up weight loss but the opposite is happening !!! thank you

  • You can slow down weight loss by not eating as much as the body attempts to hang on to what it has. I would NOT drop my carbs to speed to weight loss. I may drop a new food I added or an additional amount of food I added, but the carb reduction would be a secondary response.

The importance is not to start over thinking the weight loss. If you feel you must try something, make sure you are drinking enough water or increase the exercise to work on fitness.

  • Great video but your absolutely right :)

  • Thanks! You know us guys hate being absolutely right. :-D

  • Thanks for the great video. I have been discouraged in the past when I have a great weight training workout and the weight would go up a couple pounds the next morning. I suspected maybe water retention in the muscles but thanks for giving me the definitive answer.

  • Great Great Video and so so RIGHT ON!

    Thanks Kent!

  • I was hesitant in making a video that at all emphasized the scale, but eventually I said I had to recognize the beast or the addiction. I certainly had and still do have a scale addiction, but it is all about understanding where we are and if we are on the right road or not.

  • thanks sweety! love your videos. have a great week.

  • You too, and thanks for watching!

  • Why was the video made in the car?

    Did THEY found you?

    ;-)

  • The establishment is on to me...

  • Wow! I never thought of quite a few of those issues when it comes to the scale. I did follow a schedule, but how about that ton of water I drank before I went to bed, and one day I used the bathroom first, and the next I didn't!!! and.... I never thought about the exercise part either!

    Very good information! Thank you!

PS everyone should have a light weight, hospital type, one piece gown for weigh in time!! LOLOL

    Good luck everyone!

  • Thanks for watching!

PS - Truth be told, I think there is only one uniform for weighing in, and it requires lots of privacy. :-)

  • great video

  • Thank you, and I am eagerly awaiting your next video too.

  • I feel off the atkins wagon bad these past few days and I know that I need to get back on track but Im just not as ready to go back to square one . How do I start all over again when I really dont feel ready this time,. I know i need to get back to it, but I just cant for some reason....

Thanks Kent for another great video

  • Sometimes it takes figuring out why we started down this path in the first place. iAlejandro had a powerful story yesterday about his dad's diabetes and not wanting to follow in his footsteps. Figure out why you fell off -- where you bored, unprepared, didn't care any more -- and you'll know what you need address as you start back up.

The choices that were easy before can be as easy now.

  • 58 pounds down, I remember the beginning of this year watching your videos with hesitation. Very happy I ended up sticking with it ^^

  • wowie!!! thats great news..why dont you make a video??? i would love to see your results!!

  • Fantastic progress... Your hard work is definitely showing up on the scale.

  • WoW I'm the first to say thanks for the new video!! Rebecca

  • Thank you for watching and being my first. :-) I hesitated making this video as I didn't want to stress people out or overthink the weigh in as most times it is simple, but I realized that sometimes the stress is too much.

  • yeah thank you ..i was thinking perhaps i should up my exercise is stead of cutting back my carbs ...thank you for your speedy response as i was just about to give up ..yikes
