if you watch the msn live vid of him singing hunger strike"the song he sings annually so he can be given a vocal progress report" recently the 2009 one i thought his vocals were actually so ruined that had he had lost his grit and his singing voice and only had his scream and low tone left, But what it might actually be is a cleared up throat from the rest hes gotten during scream, and he has his signature high range back, its shaky but hes got some pitch volume back
OK, this version isn't bad. But these comments all over that 'his voice has never been better' etc., come on people, what are smoking? Look back at the videos from 89, 90, 91, 94, 96 even, and his concert voice was really a lot better then. He hit every note back then and wasn't afraid to shred it. Like the scream towards the end of "Gun", as one example. You just can't play that song without that scream. Don't bother. When he plays it on this your, he just stands there at that moment, mute.
