@kylem1112 The people with downs syndrome like me are usually happy..like anyone else. You are happy if you make up your mind to be. Attitude is what matters and feeling good is a choice for us as well as anyone. I like this movie it is about people like me and anyone else..cause we are more alike than most people know! My days are pretty good and sometimes it sucks to be different but usually it is ok...have a great day!

a family friend has a little girl my son's age, and she is the friendliest little lady i know. none of the so called "normal" kids say hi to me like she will. and a smile to light up the world. they are sincerity concentrated, and while i never have spoken to my son about her being different, he always says hi to her and not the other kids. i can only hope he grows up to be like Duane. thank you for sharing. just down the road a piece. I can't believe I haven't heard about this before. I have a brother 4 years yournger than me (he's 22 at the moment) who has downsyndrome and I can't and don't want to imagine my life without him. He's not nearly as functioning as Rene but he can communicate his needs and is understandable when you have been around him for a while. Being in the military I don't get to see him as much as I would like and watching this film makes me miss him more than ever. I just want to say God bless them all!

I go to school with a boy called peter. He has down syndrome, and when I was younger, I used to think that he was annoying. Now I realise that kids with downs syndrome aren't so different after all, in fact they are more fun and happy to be around than normal people. God bless Rene, and the director of this movie.

@QuasiCMSxProductions I used to be one of those people too, mainly because I never really met any of them and they look different but now my daughter is down's and she is so amazing. She does look different but she is the most beautiful thing I've ever seen!! Also, you need to forgive yourself for those thoughts, after all you were a teenager and you are very remorseful now. You can't change the past so beating yourself up over will never be productive. Just change & forgive yourself! :)

This is an awesome video.When i was in school i use to do like OJT (On the job training) but because of my condition the teachers wouldn't let me go outside to go work,So I ended up being like a student assistant for kids like this,and omg it was awesome.The teacher told me i had like condition that i understood these types of kids,and still do.I wish i would go back again.

Most people think A D.S. person are all about love and what joy they bring into this world.And they teach us so much about life and ourselves on how we treat others. Perhaps it's true,however my Granddaughter(age 2) is constantly being hit and abused by her D.S. step brother (age 8) for absolutely no reason at all. Now one would say that this is the only way he can communicate with others by way of physical expression . Just as love is an emotion, Anger among D.S. people is very real.

However, I, too, have been on the wrong end of anger that a person with Down's had, & it wasn't because of anything I'd done. She was just one of the rare violent ones & couldn't help what she did. So I know that this does happen, too. Thankfully it is rare, though.
