  • It's an Oligotrich ciliate. Identifying to genus level is more difficult, but consider Strobilidium, Strombidium or Halteria.

  • okay um its obviously a volvox? i learned this in 7th grade, get your facts straight.

  • @ew1998 I don't think this is Volvox. This is because Volvox are green, for starters, and they also have semicells. They don't have cilia, and they move slower. But I can see how this would look like Volvox at a glance.

  • It looks like what would be a heliozoan, but they cannot move their spines!

  • Nope it's definitely not a heliozoan, actinosphaerium or any of it's stiff spined relatives and is not a water mite....hmmm.
