Scared aren't they. Once other countries see how easy and beneficial it is to drop out of the euro, they will follow, shame they forget Iceland so easily. Let Greece go back to Drachma, the rest of the world will flood there on holiday and within 5 years they'll be bouyant
Throwing more money at Greece creates a fiscal black hole into which all of the EU will one day fit comfortably. Unless excessive welfare states are allowed to fail, and allowed to correct their behaviors, they will continue those behaviors at the expense of everyone else.
The cost of buying votes with entitlements is the eventual failure of the monetary system and riots in the streets, fighting over what scraps remain of the Free Lunch.
Sounds like a recipe for mass civil war.
