  • Jeez what is it with some people? This worked perfectly for me and was exactly as described on the video. Thank you very much for posting and please ignore the nay-sayers.

  • when i double click to open the dmg file it doesn't open up into imovie it opens up into the dvd player what do i do ?

  • Since you´re not saying anything I don´t really understand what you´re doin

  • try adding a voice fucker

  • This worked! And saved me a lot of time and money and frustration! Thank you so much!

  • How do you open the import window at 1:18 ??

  • Thank you thank you! My boss now thinks I'm a genius :)

  • You are a God!

  • how do you mount the dmg file?

  • @amelialolk you double click on it and then it shows up in Finder as a "mounted drive"

  • THANK YOU SO MUCH!

  • Because you cut off the top and bottom of the video, I can't see how to get to disk utility. Thanks for nothing.

  • @DominicMetal1979 goto applications then utility and disk utility. I had to google it too ;)

  • @DominicMetal1979 in the top left search (Spotlight) type in disk utility or go to Applications --> Utilities --> Disk Utility

  • @DominicMetal1979 search in the magnifying glass finder in the top right hand corner of your mac screen.

  • Please help where is the mount?

  • @Rogroy68 you just double click on the file you created (the dmg file) to mount it

  • @Rogroy68 just double click on the dmg file you created

  • iMovie doesn't open .dmg files, any options to change the .dmg file to a suitable file for iMovie

  • @xRazeHD Open iMovie first, then open (mount) the dmg file and iMovie should automatically detect it and allow you to import that

  • I tried it but once it started, it gave me a message that said "unable to create "OPTIARC DVD RW AD- 5630A.dmg". (permission denied)...?

  • @talyasgr8 You were probably trying to copy a "copy protected" dvd

  • Dude THANKS !Saved me a lot of hassle :)

  • @izhakgmina happy to help

  • @mgUpload the process stops before is finishes, why does it do that?

  • @rpwall11 disk utility process stops input/output error

  • @rpwall11 is the DVD scratched or copy protected?

  • it just doesn't work, iMovies cannot open .dmg files :((

  • @DrLGRegis Open iMovie first, then open (mount) the dmg file and iMovie should automatically detect it and allow you to import that. DMG is an "image" of your dvd, and if you mount it, iMovie will detect it and allow you to import that

  • @DrLGRegis you have to first create the file using Disk Utility and then mount it - double click on the dmg and then iMovie can process it

  • I'm quite confused at 1:14
