  • The tides come in, the tides go out

  • He just literally doesn't know what he's talking about. Realizing this makes you dislike him a lot less.

  • Vietnam??? What about FDR... Teddy Roosevelt...

  • Bill seems very prejudice of people he disagrees with. Hippies, leftists, socialists, etc.

The difference is, most of the people he accuses of being these things, actually respect other people's views and don't want to force a theocratic, hawkish, neoconservative agenda onto anyone.

The right-wing keep claiming the left have an agenda, but in reality, the only people who have an agenda are the right-wing themselves. Most liberals aren't the ones wanting to erode freedoms, the right-wing are.

  • First we drift left... then we drift right... you can't explain that.

  • r u sick ur face is looks like u have bad bad sick

  • Logic leans left.

Hopefully the United States will wake up soon. Our president is hardly liberal, he continued the Bush Tax cuts, he didn't close Guantanamo, he continues these useless wars overseas, he continues the pointless war on drugs, he frequently supports legislation that benefits the top 1%, etc etc.

We have a country of illiterate Christian morons,

Republicans oppose reforming our education system because the majority of their support comes from morons and hicks.

  • @WeEatBrainz you dumb

  • @TheJasonDR I dumb?

  • @WeEatBrainz Lol...the people that vote democrat are basically only minorities

  • @TheJasonDR (Fixed) Lol...the people that vote Republican are basically only borderline illiterate, bible clutching hicks. See what I did there?!?! I am white and I live one of the whitest communities in New Hampshire. Because we have the second highest percentage of atheists in the United States, a huge majority of young voters are Democrats. Obama is almost as conservative as Bush, unfortunately none of the candidates will fix our doomed country.

  • @WeEatBrainz im Hispanic and I live in a pretty religious part of PA and New Hampshire like other Atheist places is a pretty depressing place to visit...like Russia

  • @TheJasonDR Are you trying to claim that religion makes places less boring? That is hilarious. NYC and many other major cities are non religious.

I find it hilarious that people would actually trust a fictitious book that was written thousands of years ago. Many studies have shown that atheists have much greater knowledge of the bible than Christians. Religion leads to war and death. Christianity is no better than any other archaic religions.

  • Bill O'Reilly and people like him have exposed the ignorance of the right.

  • Bill'O the clown

  • Bill O'reilly is what made us drift to the left.

  • I wonder if O'Reily knows how many thumbs down his videos get and how much people hate him.

  • i just opened 10 videos of this channel and he always gets more thumbs down than up!

  • @andybarone1984 Because children with no political sense watch Bill on youtube and thumbs him down.

  • ill tell what makes people drift to the right... Hitler...

  • @applebaj True, people who realize that an insanely huge government that controls everyones life reminds them of nazi Germany and it leads them to take a more conservative attitude.

  • We've drifted to the LEFT? lolwat

  • @controversyking I'm a communist, Umad bro?

  • @joeyisdamanmofos CPUSA would love to have you lol

  • three things 1. what the fuck is he talking about???? econimically this country is so far right that its hysterical 2. bill o'reiley is stupid 3. all you people think that either political party has an answer to anything??? this country has been declining since the 1970's and you expect me to believe that raising or lowering taxes is gonna solve a thing???? i think what we neeed is a third party to show the insane amount of corruption ON BOTH SIDES

  • @joeyisdamanmofos You must live in la la land. This country is far more liberal now than it has ever been. Kinda like your liberal use of ? marks.

  • @controversyking Honey one question: are you anything but a christian white straight male?

I hope so cause otherwise you need to learn what's called gratitude towards 60s liberals.

And I didn't say "challenging conservatives is awful" (sarcastically), I said challenging AUTHORITY, of any kind.

Please tell me you don't completely disagree with the statement: "Challenging authority and people who govern us is necessary for a social system such as a country or state to grow."

  • @controversyking At what point did I make acceptance a factor, all I'm saying is Bill is basically blaming the hippies as it were, and calling people dumbasses is a great way to get your point across, keep it up buddy.

  • Comment removed

  • @controversyking LULZ, me a Marxist, right :D What part of my comment is Marxist to you?

Do you even know what Marxism is?

Let me save you a trip to Wikipedia; Marxism deals with society and economics, something that nor I or Bill were talking about.

I was talking about accepting change, but you read it and went "Herp-de-derrp, you're pushing Marxism and black people love to fornicate!"

Monty Python sketches make more sense than you just did.

  • Haha yes challenging authority is awful. Never question your superiors everyone.

  • Bill is retarded

  • Tax Income for Top income brackets

    1945 = 91%

    1976 = 70%

    1985 = 50%

    1998 = 40%

    2006 = 35%

You tell me America is drifting to the left on the Economy? BULL S**T

  • @josh10873 - In the 1940s the income taxt for the top 5 percent was 91% in the 50s and 60s it was 70% and under Reagen it was lowered to 40% and bush took it down to 35% Obama tried and faild to raise it to 39% and just recently accepted that maybe it could be lowered to 25%

  • Why did ppl become progressive? Well that's a no brainier - PROGRESS.

Srsly, if conservatives always won we'd still be in the dark ages; progressive minds bring about new ideas & change, like - kings are NOT ordained by god, women can vote, black people are equal, the earth is round, the moon causes tides, etc. As long as we hail progress and forget & mock the conservative mind like we have since the renaissance we should be alight.

The world turns and changes, but not in a 'no spin zone'.

  • God forbid we progress forward in our cultural and political systems. That would just be awful. Let's just stay ignorant and keep being traditional for tradition's sake. Makes sense.

  • Come to Alaska for the book promotion!

  • On economic issues USA is heading right not left - only on social issues is it getting more liberal

  • This can't possibly be the real bill o channel. There's no way that fox and fools would let anyone post negative comments on their chief talking head.

  • Why can't the right seem to understand that questioning beliefs, traditions, and authority is GOOD? How will we move forward and strengthen these areas of society if we just turn a blind eye to them? It's evolution.

  • Because the country was liberal and secular first but then drifted to the RIGHT. Duh.

  • Last time I checked, "tradition" is not always best.

  • Oh this is funny. We shifted to the left? We're shifting to the right. Dems today are pushing bills that Reps pushed years ago.

Bill, you never cease to amaze me with your ignorance.

  • That was a really long way of saying "advances in science and distribution of information"

  • The Constitution is a secular document---in about 444 words, not once is "God" written, for example. And, I implore someone to show me where in the Constitution does it prevent Gay Marriage?

Bill is referring to social convention, which is not always in line with our Constitution, and basic moral arguments for individual rights. Bill can have his religion, but just because most Americans are Christian does not mean that we have a national religion.

  • Bill O'Reilly is the worst human being that has ever existed.

  • I believe the reason why the country is drifting more to the left is because the right keeps trying to differentiate themselves from the left too much. For example, 100 years ago both were equally grounded in reality. But give it a while up to date and the right lets in and praises people like Ronald Reagan, Sarah Palin, Bill O'Reilly, and most of the cast of Fox News.

I'm just glad I can safely say "I'm the most rare republican you'll find, a smart one" otherwise I'd be embarrassed to say such

  • kadabra goes in, alakazam comes out.

    you cant explain that.

  • lol 666 views. Seems appropriate for a Bill O'Reilly video.

  • sit your distorted view of reality butt down

  • BILL, I HOPE YOU GET IN GOOD WITH THE NEW WORLD ORDER, YOU SELL^OUT

  • The Left Right false dichotomy is a trap for feeble minds.

Listening to voices who portend against the left or the right are the ones silently laughing at your stupidity for allowing yourself to become distracted and hypnotized by propaganda.

The only thing which matters is liberty.

  • @batfly

Freedom for the individual to believe in and do whatever they want, without impeding the liberty of others, is liberty.

Regardless of the ideals a majority believes in, they do not have the right to force them on others.

Liberty is the right to do it wrong. Liberty is the freedom to make mistakes.

The breath of Liberty inhales tolerance and exhales forgiveness.

  • Secularity is the principal reason we are not in the dark ages.

  • @kdwormy Wrong. It is curiosity. "Secularity" as you coined the term is merely an extreme opposite of what I will refer to as fundamentalism. Secularity can indeed restrict intellectual curiosity just as fundamentalism has done. For instance, strict denial of the existence of a god does not allow searching nor theorizing on the possibility of a god.

  • @Samurai4Jesus Secularity does not require you to deny the existence of god, and even if it were a permissible interpretation it is not useful as secularism is usually a reference toward what lawmakers ought not impose on law abiders, not vice versa. Eliminating religious issues from basic politics has been a central source of human progress. Virtually all instances where this is not true prove this idea.

  • Hippies go in, hippies go out

Drugs go in, drugs go out

    Can't explain that can, yah?

  • This is a complete and utter lie. O'Reilly and his gang rewrite history to sell a bill of goods to people so that they will go along with the Right's campaign to eliminate the Middle Class to provide cheap salves to their corporate buddies.

  • O'Reilly's advocacy of Christianity based on the waves coming in and going out is based on one of the three major arguments that supports the existence of God. This particular one is the teleological argument which originated from Thomas Aquinas who claimed that the intricate system of the world, and the way it all works together in a never ending cycle, is the ultimate proof of God's existence. The others two arguments are the cosmological and ontological approaches.

  • @CaptainPriceLives It's still fucking retarded no matter how fancy you word it.

  • @Canukles Well centuries of philosophers would disagree with you. It's one of the most accepted proofs of God's existence there is. I don't follow that theory, but if people do I can see why and I respect it as a valid train of thought.

  • @CaptainPriceLives As would centuries of other philosophers agree. There is no proof of god because there is no god, it's like saying "Look how water falls from the sky, then goes away, then comes back. There must be a man with a magical weather machine doing it, it can't possibly be a natural process, it's too complex."

  • @Canukles How do you know there's no God? That's the beauty of the whole situation. No one knows. And just because some people think it's more likely that system was designed by a supreme being than just happening by chance is fine with me. After all, what's more likely? Intelligent design or the big bang theory? When you think about it, it's really a toss up to most people.

  • @CaptainPriceLives Yeah yeah I know you can't really know anything as a definite, there were always be a 'possibility' of there being a god, however it is so unlikely, why even bother? Especially with religions, what makes people so sure theirs is the correct one, if any? However I find the big bang theory a bit more likely than an already intelligent entity being randomly creating itself and then the universe. Might as well say how do you know there's no flying spaghetti monster? same chances.

  • @Canukles And you can certainly feel that way, but when I look around at all the amazing things on Earth, and I say, did a few exploding atoms really create all this?, it really does make you wonder. Definitely no way of knowing for sure.

  • @CaptainPriceLives That's definitely one of the more 'reasonable' creationist viewpoints I've heard, but my logic goes somewhat the opposite, the universe is so virtually infinite, no being could possibly make it, it must be random.

  • @Canukles And I can definitely see why'd you think that. It's a good argument. Guess we'll just have to wait and see.

  • We are more secular because it works better the fundamentalism. Afghanistan anyone? That is what fundamentalism brings ya!

  • Bill is partially correct. It started with the civil rights movement in the 60s. The hippies played off of it about the war. Many Baby Boomers were raised with Dr Spocks permissive parenting methods and this played a role with the Hippy movement. The Boomers raised Generation X and many went even further against traditional parenting with their own kids. Add to this the desegeration of schools, the liberal influences that young people have had from liberal writers and there you have it.

  • Did fox discourage you from hosting these questions on youtube?

  • You mean to tell me that Emerson and Thoreau, and even Jefferson were traditionalists? No wonder Fox News viewers are the most misinformed.

  • And reality has a well-known liberal bias.

  • @ryanmail2004 Most of the world is liberal.

  • I like spinach.

  • doesn't it look like bill has more age spots than he did the last time one of these stupid videos was posted?

  • the us is drifting to the left? it's official: bill o'reilly lives in bizarro world.

  • @jeatcleave this country has drifted left. for example, social security, medicare, medicaid, and other GOVERNMENT entitlement programs. basically when Roosevelt enacted the New Deal this country took a HUGE shift to the left. now we are slowly drifting left with the help of the PROGRESSIVES (hints the name). what are they progressing to? they are progressing to more and more government control and basically a socialistic state.

  • @ColbyQuinn lol

  • @ColbyQuinn I'd say we're progressing more towards civil rights and rational thought, and away from things like slavery and theocracy. But that's just me. There might be a hole in my tin foil hat.

  • wow...fucking wow

  • We turned progressive when FDR enacted the new deal and the social contracts of the 50's/60's which led to the strong middle class, and prosperous powerful superpower which is the US. Since Reagan however, the US has drifted far towards to the right and the policies reflect this. Nearly all of Obama's positions were formerly Republican policies (Romney healthcare, cap n trade, surge in afghanistan, wants to cut entitlements)

  • Read a history book dear man.... ever hear of a little thing called 'The Enlightenment'?

  • Yeah Bill, cause there was no such thing as peace lovers, or drugs, or liberal ideas of any kind before Vietnam.

    Haha

  • country drifts in, country drifts out, you can't explain that

  • @Athanas379 How'd the country get there? Who put it there

  • It's unfair to say that liberals, seculars, and progressives think that "America is a bad country."

  • Yes, blame the hippies, bulletproof. Everyone knows there were no drugs in the United States until the 1960s.

  • @Canukles but you guys blame conservatives and Bush 24/7.

  • @TheyHearUsNow Who is 'us'? Sorry but you're horribly generalizing, just because I don't agree with a crackpot conservative doesn't make me a liberal, and just because you're a liberal doesn't necessarily mean you blame Bush or conservatives. Just like being a conservative doesn't mean you always blame the hippies or 'damned liberals'.

  • cant explain that

  • he called himself a big shot... wow

leaves a bad taste in my mouth

  • Vietnam, huh? Interesting.

  • It hasn't drifted towards the left. Bill O'Reilly is fucking delusional.

  • It almost sounds like traditional values implies going to war pretty easily, and modernizing means getting hooked on drugs and starting to question authority (i.e. not being sheep).

I like how bill keeps making these video's. It's so completely different from shows and scenes he's really known for. Another big plus is how comments are left open as well as the like/dislike functions.

  • If the alternative to being associated with "hippies" is constant pointless war then sign me up.
