  • @hoppinglark BTW you can find all the stats I quoted in JAMA

  • @aabsc Funny , because I went to both the CDC and "infoplease" and neither listed "Drugs" as a cause of disease or death. Besides stats like that would be watered down with intentional self harm by people who take an entire bottle of tylenol PM to kill themselves. Sorry to have bring reality to you.

  • @hoppinglark That's it, keep your head deep in that sand. To limit your research to one location (one proven of repeated medical fraud on top of that), when I clearly told you that study is published in JAMA, only proves you can't accept the truth. You're probably a doctor or otherwise profit from the sales of drugs to be ignoring scientific data like you are doing, plus every drug lists some of the diseases it can give you. I have years of research on the subject and wrote a book about it.

  • @aabsc If you have the year and issue, I'll gladly look it up. JAMA is journal that's been around for many years.

But I sighted TWO sources and YOU sighted one.

    Hipocrite much?

Reality is waiting for you to come back to it.

  • wat

  • may cause eyes to pop from sockets XD

  • mary jane is the miracle drug everyone's realllllly afta!

  • Lol

  • hmm 2/14/06. This would be one of them very first yt videos ever

  • Yep in canada they do take this for a song.

  • /watch?v=q3Z8pP65XdM

  • what happened to this song?! I cant find it on jibjab!

  • @andiethewriter nobody cares eat u think, ur a queeer

  • rofl :D

  • Very funny, well made, memorable.... and profoundly misleading. Sadly, many conditions are curable or controllable only with drugs. The exploitation of this fact by pharmaceutical companies in the US is shocking and possibly the songwriter should have focused on that.

  • @andiethewriter Curable? Since when does a drug company make drugs that will put themselves out of business?

  • @andiethewriter Drugs have never and will never cure any disease, they are however the #1 cause of disease and #3 cause of death. Drugs can't cure any disease, only proper diet and lifestyle can, that's what the science proves.

  • lsd isn't addictive so this video is worthless

  • @Alucard3008 this video isnt talking about LSD?

  • originally from JibJab!

  • @nikedabest11 It's actually a song by the Austin Lounge Lizards.

  • @skymanj21 Ohh my bad "/

  • Please watch our videos about Big Pharma.

  • Immortalfrieza is a child who thinks they're smart and know about medications, when clearly they don't.

  • @PHCreations Well he articulated his idea better than you did; he reasonably justifies his opinion, unlike certain comments to which I may be responding. In fact, his opinion is one of the top-rated comments, so don't assume that your criticism comes "clearly" to anyone if you don't explain it. And it's definitely true that people who must chronically take expensive medication often must allocate a large chunk of their income to that end.

  • Love the A Christmas Carol Tiny Tim reference.

  • Actually I think that's Oliver Twist.

  • you realize that 2 12 dollar pills each day for 50 years is over 400,000 dollars? and if you had put that money in a mutual fund that gathered 12% interest (the market average for the last 70 years or so), you'd have over 20 million dollars?

if you're going to bitch about inflation, go ahead, adjust it for inflation. you still come out with almost 3 million dollars in today's currency if you adjust it back with the projected inflation.

    moral? don't do drugs. :D

  • Absolutely BRILLIANT... let's see... 87 side-effects for ONE benefit?

We have plants and CACTI even more powerful than some "drugs".

    Call me for details: 604.808.0383

  • This vid changed my life. forever.

  • 0:28 HAHA

  • I never took acid/lsd but in my mind, it must be something like that happy pill u see walking in the sunshine haha

  • @flesmetwater No. Not really....not even close.

  • @immortalfrieza

The only people I've ever heard be so judgmental about the way others choose to live their lives are Scientologists and Catholics. Which are you and, if neither, what's your excuse?

  • I SPENT 6 YEARS LOOKING FOR THIS VIDEO

  • @Sisound I sent 6 minutes, not even kidding

  • adderall ad?

  • i never thought someone posted this! i loveed this!!! i watched this over 5 years ago! ha i was just thinking about it idk why...

  • "If you experience psychotic episodes, you're crazy"

  • For erections lasting longer than 4 hours, insert your own joke here. Do not resume sexual activity while operating heavy machinery.

  • As one who devoted their life to health care, I must say you have described our system with 100% accuracy. Too bad you thought you were kidding...

  • "May cause eyes to pop from sockets"..ROTFLMAO!

  • Pay close attention to the screen ticker towards the end.

  • Has anybody on here thought that the problem has been government? Health care and insurance costs so much because it can't cross state lines AND because of stupid lawsuits, if we had it so that loser pays (should a malpractice suit be seen as stupid) then insurance companies would fight for doctors more and would keep a lot less money, which would bring down medication costs.

  • No pill in the history of medicine has ever cured anybody. Pills don`t work. They make you sick and keep you sick. You want to be sick? Well, you ARE sick if you take pills.

  • love it

  • im twacked

  • If you notice, whenever the family is standing and they turn into pills and wave, the dad is sticking up his middle finger. lol

  • Cyntarala, that isn't the point. The point is about the problems with under-tested medicines being marketed to gullible consumers, and how flashy advertising gets people to waste their hard-earned money on something that will either do more harm than good, or that they could get the same medicine for a fraction of the price and plainer packaging. It isn't a "Medicines are bad" message.

  • lol mild electric shock sensations

  • OMG- LMFAO!! -& that's from one who KNOWS the life of a guinea pig! 20+ yrs trying to treat & survive mental illness/TRD, (&drug sideeffects)..I'd just like to say there is NOTHING funny about possibly this most misunderstood & frustrating disease on earth. Just because you can't see it doesn't mean it's not just as fatal as cancer. Thank God I still have a sense of humor, and thanks Austin Lounge Lizards for this hilarious respite (&eye-opener for better healthcare) Ye-haw!!

  • Really?

Well, I don't buy this message. There are times that my back hurts so bad I NEED an advil or something stronger.

Just pray that you stay well & don't ever have a need for medication.

I certainly would be miserable without a certain medication.

  • I'm sorry to hear that... This video is only meant to be a joke, pointing out that there are people taking medicines even though they don't need to. Sometimes medications are necessary, but other times people take the ideas put in their head by ads and create something out of nothing. I hope that we all stay healthy and don't have need for medications, useless or otherwise.

  • this was meant to be a joke but of course it needs to attract the disability grievance mongerers... I bet that "chemical imbalance" is why you all have rotten attitudes too right??

jeez, you big pharma zombies are as bad as a mob of divorced dykes at an Obama rally...

  • I agree with Nelenata, this is a stab at marketed medicines, as opposed to medicines in general. When I was growing up, there were never any pharmaceutical commercials, as I recall.

  • my dad was prescribed Flowmax by his doctor

i figured out he wasnt drinking enough water

I went to jail after the doctor shot me up with catabolic steroids for poison ivy

I needed to wash the poison ivy oil off my body with a shower head and rub juice from the stalk found in touch me not/jewel weed. Best plant ever.

  • lol me and my friend are doing about drugs and underaged smoking and pissed and cried with laughter it was soo funnyy!!! lol :P

  • what are you doing?

  • VOID IN WISCONSIN!!!????!

  • battery's not included

  • "Take two $12 pills each day for 50 years", this is the biggest problem with drugs. Not only are they riduculously overpriced, but you can't just take pill once or twice and solve the problem forever. Instead let's just make a crappy and ineffective pill that people have to take for the rest of their lives.

  • @immortalfrieza It's not always that, but usually, it's that the drugs in the pill are to powerful to be scarfed down in gallons. They need to be introduced to your body before they can start taking effect. Come on man,a nd I'm only 14.

  • @PHCreations You've completely missed the point, and that is that you shouldn't have to take a pill over and over, you should just take it a few times and the problem should be solved once and for all. It's not that it isn't possible to make pills that can solve a problem as so, or that it would be too potent to be safely taken, it's that, why try to solve a problem when the companies can cheat us out of our money by just making us take a pill forever.

  • @immortalfrieza I'm okay with swallowing lithium for the next 80 years if it keeps me sane! (bipolar)

  • @kashzone If you have to keep taking a drug for 80 years to keep yourself sane, then you are not solving the problem. You're not sane, you're just under the illusion that you're sane. What if you get worse and the drugs are no longer enough? What if you develop an immunity to the drugs? If either happened, you'd be nuts again before you know it, and you might not be able to stop it this time. Now, if we had something that actually fixed the problem, you'd never have to worry about it again.

  • @immortalfrieza Of course not! I'm well aware that the lithium could stop working in 3 months. I'm on the watch for it.. There is no cure for the underlying chemical imbalance. I'm okay with that too. I'm okay with the 'illusion' of sanity. Keeping my glutamate system in check makes me feel sane, so who are you to say I'm not? Think about things.. Medicated sanity > insanity.

  • @kashzone I guess I've always had a problem with people living in an illusion, because it means they typically don't work to make that illusion a reality, and with even the few that do, it's a very small minority. Sure, if we were just buying ourselves time to find a REAL cure it that would be one thing, but as it stands, no one is even trying. So unless you got off your butt and found a cure yourself, you're going to have to spend the rest of your life worrying about your "chemical imbalance".

  • @immortalfrieza You can tell all of your bipolar friends that their permanent cure is here, and has been since the 1950s -- the lobotomy! But I am stable on lithium, and I am not worrying about my chemical imbalance (which for some reason, you've garnished with quotations). You don't know what you're talking about, because this is not something YOU have to live with. This is precisely why people are not coming to you for mental help!

  • @kashzone Sure, you're stable NOW, but I'll bet anything that at the back of your mind you're worrying that it'll affect you any minute now, even without you realizing it. In fact, it could be affecting you right now despite the drugs in unnoticable ways. I put chemical imbalance in quotations because no one knows what causes mental illnesses of any kind, they have theories, but they'd be lucky if those theories last a decade. All they do is throw drugs at people until something has an affect.

  • @immortalfrieza I don't worry about being affected by it, and I know I am not having mood swings anymore. Mine were not "that bad" to begin with (to the outside world), because I was pretty high-functioning before I knew something was wrong. I was the one that researched mood stabilizers and found the ones I wanted to try, and my doctor listened to me. Why is it that you keep commenting with the tone you do? Hostility towards the world of psychiatry?

  • @kashzone I despise any industry and people that are pointless, especially ones that act like they're doing something, but in reality are doing nothing but cheating everyone out of their money and getting in the way of real progress. Stop pretending you've actually fixed your bipolar disorder, don't act like you or your doctors have actually done anything.

  • @immortalfrieza Man, I don't see why you're so negative about taking medication to prevent symptoms of an non-treatable illness. "Getting in the way of real progress"? What in the fuck are you talking about? There's never going to be a cure, stop deluding yourself that everything should be fixable with a one-time drug dose. I didn't say I've fixed it, I'm just saying that I no longer experience symptoms. It's because I take a drug daily. A drug I get for free, here in Canada. Stop commenting.

  • @kashzone Drugs only make diseases worst over time because on top of not addressing the cause of the disease you're doing something that WILL cause additional diseases, 100% of drugs end up causing additional diseases, prescription drugs are the #1 cause of disease and #3 cause of death. The cure to all chronic diseases is already known and proven and the cure is proper diet and lifestyle. Every chronic "incurable" disease is caused by bad diet/lifestyle and can be cured with proper diet

  • @aabsc Are you saying that my asthma (a chronic disease) was caused by by "bad diet/lifestyle"? If so, then you sir are retarded. And don't even try to wiggle your way out of this; you said EVERY chronic incurable disease

  • @blueflame1866 Absolutely, Asthma is largely due to dehydration, sugar and caffeine, those are the major causes, though other foods and/or nutritional deficiencies can also contribute. Asthma can be permanently cured by drinking more water, avoiding sugar and caffeine and other minor changes may or may not also be needed. This not only avoids the side effects of drugs, but also prevents other problems that can also result from dehydration, sugar and caffeine.

  • @blueflame1866 I wanted to add that by posting this you've also proven your gullibility because you've obviously swallowed whatever nonsense doctors told you and you weren't even bothered to look at an unbiased source that would have told you asthma is largely due to what I said below, and that's supported by independent science, the only "science" to prove medications work is done by the very companies selling them, not unbiased studies like what I mentioned below. Learn to think for yourself.

  • @blueflame1866 One third and last message, please take the time to search the internet for "asthma dehydration", you'll find tons of UNBIASED studies (not done by people trying to sell you the product in question as is the case with drugs) proving the undeniable link between asthma and dehydration, and sugar and caffeine also cause dehydration which is why they are also causes of Asthma. You've proven that you only listened to people trying to sell you something, please look at unbiased sources.

  • @immortalfrieza

Well then let's see you invent the miracle drug that somehow prevents aging, so that people will never have high blood pressure, type II diabetes, cholesterol imbalance, loss of renal function, loss of neuronal function etc.

  • @hoppinglark That "miracle drug" is called a healthy diet.

  • @aabsc Are you implying that people would live forever if they simply had a healthy diet?

People age, they slowly have degration of organ function, we can slow the effects but we can't stop it. That's my point.

  • @hoppinglark No, but in Hunza which is a poor country with no hospitals, no drugs, no pesticides (so all food is organic and unprocessed), most live up to 100, with a few reaching 120. What causes the premature degradation of organs is all the chemicals, processed foods and prescription drugs people are taking, drugs alone are the #1 cause of disease and #3 cause of death.

  • @aabsc Hunza is not a country

  • @immortalfrieza So what is your alternative?

  • May cause life as seen in Dickens's fiction...

"Please sir, may I have some more?"

"No, sorry. Your HMO doesn't cover refills"

  • Not Jib Jab its the Austin Lounge Lizards

  • may not be reproduced without the expressed written consent of Major League Baseball

  • yeah lol can I use this song in a youtube video? thats what I like about this band and other bands who release their music under a creative commons license, you can use their songs in videos and its ok.

  • Sweet Genius

  • Awesome!!!! One of the best videos ever put forth by Jib Jab. Excellent parody on the health care system in the US.

  • True

its just very wierd that Jibjab doesnt have this vid on their site anymore

  • @ericon52168 I notice that too....hmmmm

  • batteries not included?? LOL

  • haha... making fun of canadians is an american pastime... i might note that i'm canadian

  • Do Canadians sometimes find U.S. Quarters in their change?

    :)

  • Not usually. Almost never actually. We find tons of American pennies though :)

  • well at this rate, the US quarter will be worth a penny anytime soon :P

  • i feel i'm canadian, but i live in the USA

  • @alabs56 Uhhh...they weren't making fun of Canadians, they were saying "In Canada they get this for a song" meaning Canada has a great healthcare system

  • @guidomith I'm in Canada too and if you think we have great healthcare you are delusional. It's much worst than in the USA because health insurance covers strictly medical quackery like drugs and surgery. All scientifically supported treatments that are proven to cure diseases are not covered or taught to doctors. This also means you are forced to pay for quack medical doctors even if you're smart enough to know they're quacks. I had an "incurable" disease and am now cured of it without drugs.

  • this was done by us at The Animation Farm, in austin, TX about 4 years ago (or so). the music is by the austin lounge lizards, and we won a telly award for this.

  • Hey man, im doing drama for my HSC, and i was wondering if im allowed to sing a verse from this in my monologue performance?

  • @azitiz so long as you consult your physician first!!! lol! good luck widdit :)

  • i couldnt find this on jibjabs originals i guess they removed it

  • who sings this i love it

  • does anybody else hear a very high pitched sound while the video is playing?

  • if a death occurs stop using Progenitorivox !!!! lol

  • omgggg I remember watching this like 3 years ago!!!

  • IVe ToooCK abouTa 2wenteeY PiLz

  • bEsT tHiNg eVeR, nO?

  • Its ok to HAVE Adderall 20 mg, Xanax 2 mg, Norco 10/325 just in case...not DO them everyday...

  • Progenitorivox may not be reproduced without the expressed written consent of Major League Baseball. Progenitorivox may cause drowsiness or restlessness in lab animals. Do not resume sexual activity while operating heavy machinery without consulting your physician. For erections lasting longer than four hours, insert your own joke here. If you experience psychotic episodes, you're crazy. If death occurs, discontinue use of Progenitorivox immediately. If symptoms persist, consult your physician.

  • The opinions expressed in this song are not necessarily those of SquabbMerlCo or its subsidiaries. Progenitorivox is not available, anywhere. Offer void in Wisconsin. Any resemblance to actual drugs, living or dead, is purely coincidental. Any unauthorized use of your judgment in the application of Progenitorivox is strictly prohibited.

  • best video ever!!!! I LOVE JIBJAB

  • hahahaha i love this video

it's so true, this is the only country in the world where we market drugs on television. "Do you find yourself blinking too much? Tired at night? Bored in class? TAKE THESE PILLS!!!"

  • it angers me how its not on the jibjab site anymore. D:<

  • "if death occurs discontinue use immediately" LOL

  • LOL "BATTERIES NOT INCLUDED!"

those viewers look soo functional, that overpriced pill is for meee xDD LOL

  • court dockets? deportation?! holy s***t im getting me some of dat xDD

yays my favorite jibjab of all time^^

  • This is the newest album by the Austin Lounge Lizards. By the way, it's: if psychotic episodes occur, you're crazy (not discontinue)

  • why don't health insurance companies compete as aggressively as car insurance companies?

  • @jbbremerton Because you don't NEED a new car as bad aq s you may NEED health care :)

  • this video kicks ass

  • i love this vid

  • Lol "for an erection lasting more than four hours insert your own joke here"

  • "my disease my not be fatal, but i can ease my fears by taking two twelve dollar pills each day for fifty years" that sums it up. people are living longer than ever before regardless of smoking, heart disease, cancer, aids, etc.

  • Why did they take this video off Jib Jab? It's such a good video.

  • For the people arguing about it...Insulin IS a drug. Yes it is naturally occuring, but a lot of drugs are, doesn't make them not drugs.

It had to be approved by the FDA, it's on the olympics banned drug list and it's also, like many drugs, abused by certain individuals.

It's abused the same way as HGH, bodybuilders use it to help them bulk up.

  • You are one of, without a dobut, gullable mother fuckers going around son.... just reading your statement questions why you were born.

  • i want that pill

  • this was not made bye jibjab, its made by a... lets say "contractor" for jibjab, it's only published by jibjab.

If you dont believe me look for "go ahead and die" it's made by the same guy, but is NOT on youtube

  • Jib Jab animaters, yes, but not a friend at school, which is what I said...

  • I want this pill, but i dont have the expressed written consent of Major League Baseball.. LOL

  • ROfl this wa made by a friend of mine at school. HIs name is Mark P. (I dont no how to spell last name (

  • Dude your a lair... Its made by JibJab(dot)com

Next time dont lie, nobody likes lairs...

  • lol, liar!! Hehe, busted!! :D

  • The Austin Lounge Lizards are Amazing!!!

  • PS: How is my post spam, if you disagree give it a thumbs down but it's not spam.

  • Just got put on 2 more Rx's today.

  • Lol, I saw this 4 years ago. Still funny.

  • ahahhaha i lllllove this video

  • Why would Moore present this in his "movie?" He wants you to have drugs. He just thinks the government should buy all the drugs for you.

  • Exactly. Moore isn't exactly what I would call a proactive about health. Just wait till something goes wrong and rely on (toxic)drugs. Hey as long as the government pays for it. Canada, by the way is ranked #35 in overall health, not much better than the USA'S ranking of #37. He failed to mention that. The truth is that WE control our health and are the only ones that should be responsible for it (or the lack of it) and nutrition is the key. ZERO health conditions are caused by a lack of drugs!

  • jakepetro-"Moore isn't exactly what I would call a proactive about health."

You know, i really wish that before people go off on Moore for what he has or hasn't said, they actually found out what Moore has and hasn't actually said.

For instance, in numerous interviews he did when sicko came out, Moore said that one good way to reduce the power of big Pharma is to LIVE HEALTHIER so we do't' get sick

"ZERO health conditions are caused by a lack of drugs!"

    My diabetic friends would disagree.

  • Your friends don't have diabetes because of lack of drugs/meds. They manage the symptoms with drugs/meds. There has never been a health condition that is caused by a drug deficiency. Period.

Diabetes can be managed with insulin, but the reason people have diabetes is that their pancreas doesn't function properly. The root cause of this is NOT a lack of drugs.

  • "Your friends don't have diabetes because of lack of drugs/meds."

No, but they aren't dead because they have their drugs.

And diabetes, if left untreated, causes leads to other even worse conditions.

So yes, there are people who have medical conditions because they didn't have the right drugs.

Diabetes-"Diabetes can be managed with insulin,"

Which when you are injecting it in your self, counts as a drug.

All you are doing is arguing semantics.

  • It isn't semantics at all. Following your logic:

Headaches are CAUSED by an aspirin deficiency

Cancer is CAUSED by a lack of chemo

Treating and suppressing symptoms is not the same things are determining and addressing the ROOT CAUSE of the illness.

  • my logic? I was following yours. Do you need to re-read what you wrote/

You made the claim that drugs prevent any medical condition.

In fact, sometimes they do. Blindness in diabetics, for instance.

OF course I thought I had made your logical fallacy clear, Whether drugs prevent a medical condition is a bad arguement because their value lies in TREATING an illness.

  • "Treating and suppressing symptoms is not the same things are determining and addressing the ROOT CAUSE of the illness.."

I never said it was. but first you wrongly conclude that drugs can only treat a symptom. and second, you assume that treating an illness or alleviating the symptoms doesn't have value in and of itself.

Again, my friend's diabetes wont' be cured by his insulin but it will keep him from going blind of dying.

And I guess you conceeded the michael moore point?

  • I never said that treating a symptom doesn't have value. Of course we want to make people as comfortable as possible.

I also never said that drugs don't prevent disease once. I said a lack of them isn't the root cause. Please be accurate when you quote me.

  • My one and only point is that there is no illness that was caused by a lack of drugs.

For example: Night blindness is caused by a lack of vitamin a, not a lack of a drug.

Scurvey is caused by a lack of vitamin c complex, not a lack of a drug.

Cancer is caused by a poorly functioning immune system (many factors as to why), not a lack of chemo

Cholesterol levels are primarily caused by what our liver produces (many factors as to why)not a lack of cholesterol drugs

  • My point is...

Drugs treat symptoms. Symptoms are not the root cause. They are the body's call to arms!

Example of a symptom: Fire alarm or smoke detector going off

    Root Cause: Fire

  • Doctors, Doctors, please, lets just take the drugs we have and enjoy the video, it's kinda funny. Shit I gotta go I'm starting to lactate.

  • the question i'm asking myself is why is diabetes and insulin producing such a commotion? can't we pick a more exciting disease? like something from house?

  • Lupus?

  • i'm attempting to mediate by offering that diabetes isn't caused by drugs, but a swift diagnosis and appropriate medication can prevent the decline in health???

  • Insulin is not a drug. So any discussion of diabetes is irrelevant in this context.

  • Diabetes is caused by a diseased pancreas.

  • well, diseased pancreas or lack of response from cells to insulin. (i presume diseased pancreas means cancerous of defective secretory cells....) sorry, just after spending christmas cramming up on diabetes and other stuff....

  • You are right. See, thats the problem with you tube, too many people like me talking about stuff they dont know enough about! Literally just enough to be dangerous!

  • Either your diabetic friends are fucking retarded or pissed cuz of a tard like you speaking for em... how the FUCK can you argue with the fact that zero health conditions are cause by a lack of drugs. Maybe the state of the condition can be controlled by drugs, but what you're saying is nonsense.

  • Always Gets stuck in my head. I think that Micheal Moore should have featured this in Sicko!

  • lol very funny and creative

  • rofl

  • This came from jib jab. All the newer ones are made mostly by morons after to 2005-2006 song. Still, this is really funny.

  • just ther drugs that i need

  • this is hilllarious!
