Uh, the goverment does not pay for laid off and underpaid workers, unemployment insurance does. However, the government does pay for welfare. It's worked really well in our inner cities, i mean no one is compaining right. When people have more money the spend it, invest it, deposite it, or give it away which leads to more jobs, more wealth for all, and properity. Spreading the wealth has never worked everywhere and has lead to dispare, everywhere it is tried.

They should not vote just by what the candidate says during the debates. They need to know the history of the candidate. History repeats itself, always. I never saw Obama as the first African American candidate with a chance to win. First, he's half white, second he's not decended from slaves. While this is largely semantics, I feel his win is not merely a victory for African Americans, but blacks around the world. It is also a victory for whites and mixed race people, as Obama is just as much a part of them. But, African Americans need their milestone so I won't be a dick about it.

Sorry, I didn't get this sooner. American youth have spoken. There is no way this country will be come a socialist society. Be we DO need some social reforms. Our veterans should not have to fight thru red tape to get services from a country whose freedoms were protected by those same veterans. Uh, the goverment does not pay for laid off and underpaid workers, unemployment insurance does. However, the government does pay for welfare. It's worked really well in our inner cities, i mean no one is compaining right. When people have more money the spend it, invest it, deposite it, or give it away which leads to more jobs, more wealth for all, and properity. Spreading the wealth has never worked everywhere and has lead to dispare, everywhere it is tried.

Great video. I agree all of todays youth need to vote. However, they need to be thoroughly informed. They have to know who they are voting for and why. They should not vote just by what the candidate says during the debates. They need to know the history of the candidate. History repeats itself, always. I believe there were alot of "false" votes for President this year. Many voting for him just because of race, many voting for his well spoken word. I feel they are, but hope their not wrong.

I'm afraid it doesn't work like that. Those who voted against Prop 8 were raised in 1940, with 1940s beliefs. At that time, desegregation was still a reality. Blacks sat in the back of the bus.
Today, the kids watch shows like Queer Eye for a Straight Guy, Third Wheel, Ellen, and many other shows that have gay themes.
We will have equal rights. It took African Americans about 200 years, but I suspect it will only take 10 more years for gays - at least in California.

Ya, I have some friends that are 'Ordained Ministers' it cost $30.00 online and they send you a certificate.
All the pastors I know said Yes on 8. It passed by the way. Along with a landslide vote against 'gay marriage' in Florida and also in Arizona. And Arkansas went as far as to deny adoption rights to the unwed.
30 states now have passed laws and legislation to preserve marriage for what it is, 1man+1woman.
This will be a US constitution ammendment in the future and will be laid to rest.

I might also add, voting on Prop 8 was strictly along age demographics.
People over age 65 voted overwhelmingly for Prop 8.
People under 30 voted overwhelming against Prop 8.
People in between were more or less evenly split.

I think it is very important to vote. It is our sacred duty to vote. And although this is too late, it is important to vote for the person you think will do the best job. NOT to block the other guy. I never saw Obama as the first African American candidate with a chance to win. First, he's half white, second he's not decended from slaves. While this is largely semantics, I feel his win is not merely a victory for African Americans, but blacks around the world. It is also a victory for whites and mixed race people, as Obama is just as much a part of them. But, African Americans need their milestone so I won't be a dick about it.

It's the first time ever that I found this election to be the most important for the world in since many years. I shed a tear and had a big smile when the news came from CNN that Obama prevailed and I even felt victorious even though I'm not an American.

Actually Palin got credibility considering shes the only one of the candidate that has Executive experience but what move me away from the ticket is that she dont know what the job of the vice president does, now i didnt get an A on my Government class but i remember well that the VP dont control the senate but they're responsible for the tie breaker incase it happens. (which i doubt now with a Democratic majority in the house)

nowhere near those states...sigh' again with the "...drill baby, drill..." slogan. When both campaign knows theres only 3% of oil in the US and we use 25% is a no brainer that drilling which also takes about years to do wont even affect the gas prices if it goes up again. I'm no environmentalist but i know that the earth wont have oil forever and is partly cost of the global warming going on the world.

Yeah I agree, It's not like Obama and McCain are that vastly different that the country will change, Obamma has his Hope and Change message, but what I want in a candidate Is Honesty and Action, all I see is a bunch of pretenders who play a game of politics and have no "life changing" policies.

the other thing is that people elect the president based on where he stands on the issues and he really has no influence over most of those issues (did bush overturn Roe v Wade?) it's congress that's the center player, but everyone says that there rep is awesome and everyone elses sucks, so nothing really changes.
