i like the prime series, i own all of them and theyre a good sequel to the metroid series..........still they couldnt fetch to the super metroid feeling. super metroid felt like purest sci fi and nobody in the game explained whats happening in the world there, you had to use your imagination
They are completely ignoring what they were before anyway... now it's all about waving around with a stupid remote that barely does anything more than a controller. But well at least they have a Metroid game on the Wii.
They should remake super metroid in 3D. i know old fans hate primes but i thought they were the gamecubes greatest hits. the wii one is not bad its just to easy. the controls are great though. at least they are making prime 1 and 2 with wii controls. there are also rumors of a new metroid game sceduled for 2012
i think metroid prime hunters should be 2d and just called metroid hunters. i dont have i but i dont like the controls in the demo. and i mainly like prime cause im better at them. i got 100% on mp3 on hypermode in like 7 hours but i cant get past the maridia boss in super metroid. i beat fusion a bout a month ago. and i then beat classic metroid cause i linked to prime 1 and i beat metroid 2 for my friend.
I think Super Metroid should be kept 2D. What I would love to see is an HD remix, along the lines of the recent Super Street Fighter 2 HD Remix that Xbox and PS3 got.
I do love Metroid Prime series, though. Just that Super Metroid worked so beautifully as 2D. Really nailed that feeling of claustrophobia home. :)

The Prime series is just as it should be. Retro managed to stick to the original formula and translate it quite well to 3D. Excluding Corruption, the sense of exploration and solitude is very much intact in the Prime games.
why excluding Metroid Prime 3: Corruption? i thought it was a pretty good game and i've played the rest of the other old school metroid series. but then again everybody has the right to an opinion. i just want to know what are your thoughts.
personally, I'm about the biggest fan of the series as there can be... I remember playing the first 8bit game when I was six. For me, so far the only downside to any part of the series is that you can't play the second installment 'metroid II the return of samus unless you still have a copy of the old game boy game. That was my favorite out of the whole series, and I gotta say I'm kinda pissed they scrapped the 'virtual boy' incarnation.

@notabear1 So you're not a real fan of the series if you didn't like the style of Other M. How was it always her character, I don't remember her crying before the Ridley fight in Super or Prime.

Super Metroid was an old SNES game with no dialogue at all. Prime wasn't even made by the original writers or developers. You can't sit and think that Prime is her character when it hasn't much to do with the original game.

I don't like when any game gives you too much guidance on where to go or what to do. Prime only gave you vague hints which you could turn off.
Actually, it is the Brinstar theme. Yes, in Brawl it says MP2 Multiplayer, but that's not the actual name. The only other time Brinstar of this kind was used was in MP2. It's like saying that the Lower Norfair theme in Super Metroid is not that, just because it made its way into MP2 in Torvus Bog.
Where's the bass line on the movement that starts around 0:80? Also, could have used a little more crescendo-decrescendo on the keyboard harmony on the movement from 0:23 - 0:36. Other than that, not bad.
Beautiful. It takes a lot of skill to mix up the formula like that and still get it to sound good.

That would be silly to make a 3D version of this game... it would be like making a HD/Dolby Surround version of Kid Icarus, there would be no point!
I liked Prime, but the problem is that now there's no longer 2D Metroids, not even for the handhelds! That sucks, the 2D Metroids were awesome!

Actually, it is the Brinstar theme. Yes, in Brawl it says MP2 Multiplayer, but that's not the actual name. The only other time Brinstar of this kind was used was in MP2. It's like saying that the Lower Norfair theme in Super Metroid is not that, just because it made its way into MP2 in Torvus Bog.
