Well that's a change, most planes go in the other way! Probably a perfectly good tail section out there you could Gorilla Glue on there! I am yet to damage the tail of 1 of my planes
@SaraDirect23 he was way out there! you should see where me and my buds fly ours! lol it was a DLE, what do you expect?!!! lol the only times my DA 50 died were my fault... 1, bad vent line system when i was starting out, 2. clogged fuel filter, 3. forgot to set my flying throttle trim... I love my DA's!
lol did the same thing to my yak except on landing had a microburst and just took my huge yak and same damage right in half and wing tips punched but a week later ;-)
i fly rc and that commentator made me spit tea all over my screen when he said well he'll get in his car easier now, classic, but hey its all part of the fun if you cant laugh about a crash, dont start flying they ALL crash one day no matter how good you are
It's not like it was painstakingly assembled by the guy, people in sweat shops put then together, which is why he can just buy a new one. It is one of the risks with hovering this close to the ground and if you are not prepared to have this happen, don't fly that close to the ground!
that dude speeks the truth ... half of the fun at rc shows is the crashing ... yes its amazing to see the high performance piloting ... but its also awsome to watch crashes its part of the fun and like he said just money no lives at stake
Is that DB sound Collin,That guy is being in the trade for ages, and it put a spark to the hobby, nothing wrong with the comment, those pilots can afford them crashes, and for sure is not the first one!
Bad thing about composite ARTFs like that is repairing them is a big no no because to get them as strong as they were before would require increasing the weight a staggering amount, they are reasonably cheap though!
lol yeah we had BME 30% edge 540 and we had an engine failure after going strait into virtical climb then the motor quit and we tried to save it but it pancaked into the ground if we only had the extra 3 ft would have made all the difference. sad thing was the wings were fine and the tail plane had no damage but the front was ripped of and the pilot was found ten ft from the point of impact lol not joking, we declared him dead at the scene. one of the baffels can loose in the muffler, no airflow
Sorry, i was getting confused with the linguo, what i meant was that it is an incredibly light structure, effectively just strong enough as it needs to be to keep weight down
That comentator is a total idiot!!! You don't say stupid things like that when a person crashes a $5000 dollar plane. If I were the pilot I would have beat the shit out of him in the stands!
british humer u dont understand it lol as is with most north american people. he just trying to make it good along a littler bit better, its allways to joke about it instead of getting depressed. and yeah 5000 well the motor is fine the recever and probley most of the servos are fine and if anythink thats reparible. outher wise u can somtimes order a new tail assembly and if u cant do that well he just lost 1000 in an airfram.
Have always found announcers interesting. They tell you what you are going to see then tell you what you are seeing then tell you what you just saw. The announcer loves the sound his own voice and the crowd wishes he would shut up.
Airshow commentator = entertainer = funny comments = not an asshole, it's his job.
Lighten up it's just R/C no lives at stake, just money. Every time you take your big plane and fly hard ground level 3D. You know there is a good chance it will crash. If you can't afford to crash, just keep the plane higher up. And when you do crash, smile and take it like a man! :)
im not too found of yaks but sorry dude, i lost my plane in a field and it was totally destroyed once i found it.......btw it is fun to fly 3d, but sometimes it goes bad..thats why i stick with moderate stunt planes like the super sportster .60(super tigre rules!)
Dude ,I am just starting out with 3-d, and i have my first compotition 3 weeks away, and i JUST CRASHED MY AIRPLANE, That announcer is an ass!!, He should have some appreciatation, for the money, time and effort they put in to there air-craft to entertain the crowd, what an ASS!

The guy crashed because he made the wrong decision (he put the plane there, and he knew engines can fail) so he is unsafe!

$5000 is a bit high. $1700-$2300 max maybe. For $650 he can be up in air with new plane. Or replace the fuse, good thing about ARF's
