  • "Someday not far away from here

My dear, I swear I'll see you

And we will hear the seraphs cry

For they will still envy you and I"

    This song. <3 :')

  • ... BUT THE WIND PICKED UP

  • La Dispute: The most underrated band i know of.

  • He sounds like Jesse Eisenberg to me.

  • @TehReeves Oh my gosh. He does.

  • I'm glad I'm not the only one that couldn't help but think Annabel Lee when I heard this. I looked it up just to comment only to see that the top comment beat me to it.

  • so much passion, and emotion in their music. And the lyrics are great!

  • my friend loves this band but i dont have anything good to say bout them...just cus i dont want to be that guy thats just like there fuckin terrible how can you listen to this...i hate those people lol

  • @Machelett96 Well then you don't like music with soul

  • @Machelett96 FAG!

  • @Machelett96 To each his own i guess, lol. And thanks for not being one of those guys lol. But i very much disagree with you. I have more good things to say about this band than can be written in the space provided. I have nothing bad to say. So much passion in the music, its incredible. But, as i said, to each his own.

  • I've noticed a few songs that are poems of theirs, for example, five - hear hear album, said the king to the river and only everything below must be poems also!

  • Why is Tubthumping by Chumbawamba on the right? It doesn't have anything to do with this song hahaha

  • His voice has much pain behind it.. Kinda wrenches my heart. </3

  • did anyone else, when they first heard them was like WTF O.o,

the you read the lyric's and your <3 ^____^.

  • I remember the first time i heard this band, i listened to them because i hadnt heard of them before..but then i really listened to the music, and i was speechless. Literally. It was just soo much emotion and so much passion and its pure genious. That is good music right there. When songs leave you literally speechless.

  • i cant stop listening to this. ohmigod.

  • you gotta be funkin kidding me!

  • @himynameisjordanx

    E. E. Cummings, actually.

  • IZZY LIKES THIS SONG AHA ;) x

  • Man So Fucking amazing till this day!!!!!!!!!

  • Wow this is seriously the most beautiful thing I've ever heard. I literally just teared up. He sounds so genuine, I can't even take it.

  • I remember listening to La Dispute once. ONCE & although I never followed the band I never forgot how incredible their songs are. I truly was a fan from that one time.

  • i have to say, it sounds akward and out of place when he says "then the wind picked up"

  • It reminds me more of The Tempest. |:

  • ...can i get pregnant from this?

  • @keezyjbandit That was the stupidest, most motherfucking disrespectful comment i have ever seen in a video before. Do the world a favor, and kill your youtube account, get off the fucking computer, and do the same to yourself.

  • @ZombieBoyHello excuse me motherfucker? i must say that your criticism on my fucking comment was the most disrespectful comment i have ever seen on a video. how the fuck is that disrespectful? you're a sorry piece of shit.

  • love this song omg

  • Whoever disliked this is a dumbass.

  • Who the fuck would dislike this?!

  • But the wind picked up..

  • 'I said, understand, if you're cold I'll keep you warm, and besides, there's so much beauty in a storm' - reminds me of the girl I like! This is just perfect music.

  • I fucked the shit out of the replay button. (:

  • I like the lyrics, but I feel as if they;re a bit ripped off of Poe's Anna Bell Lee

  • I am amazed with the lyrics used in La Dispute's songs. I had the honor of seeing these guys live. Very nice. Perfect study music ;)

  • Beautiful. Gets me every time.

  • should be longer.

  • :41

  • and... song:"But the wind picked up...It pulled her out into the sea"

Poem: "That the wind came out of the cloud by night,

Chilling and killing my Annabel Lee"

Song:"It pulled her out into the sea"

Poem:"To shut her up in a sepulchre

In this kingdom by the sea... in her tomb by the sounding sea."

Maybe this song was inspired by the poem. Did anyone else notice it? I feel kind of like a nerd now... Lol.

  • @theofferingx I have to agree. I think maybe La Dispute wanted to put the poem to a song, so to speak. The two pieces aren't exactly the same, but they are so strikingly similar that I would be surprised to hear otherwise.

Either way, they are both very chilling, and very awesome.

  • @BWeinrich that's correct, and inspired by Tanabata's leyend too, vega and altair, the river, etc etc

  • @BWeinrich Actually, Three on their Here, Hear album is mostly the same poem. It wouldn't be too surprising, a lot of their music and poems are inspired by other poems, stories and legends.

  • @theofferingx We know that it was inspired by that poem... they have another song that is basically that poem put to music.

  • @MrSexiSatan I did not know that.

  • @theofferingx we learn new thing every day haha

  • @theofferingx look at their song called THREE and you'll see.

  • @theofferingx that's what I kept relating it to throughout the entire song.

  • @theofferingx lol now that you pointed it out i can see what you mean and if it is true they were inspired by the poem this will be the second band i know of that used this poem in their music

  • @theofferingx also rise said the king to the river and other songs are inspired by poe's poems :)

  • @theofferingx such small hands and nobody not even the rain are both inspired from a poem by e.e cummings, just tu meantion it :D

  • @thatkleiner3 Edgar Allen Poe, actually.

  • @theofferingx

wiki says it was written by a16 yo friend of the lead singer. He wrote it after a breakup with his girl.

  • @theofferingx I think La Dispute were inspired by many great artist, such as Edgar Allan Poe and Shakespeare, too.

  • @theofferingx yeah true, whats more poe wrote about seraphs too. whats even more they used a part of the poem in song 'three'

  • @theofferingx A great deal of their music is inspired by poems and other works, this album itself is inspired by Asian folklore. Jordan references "Annabel Lee" quite a bit in his writings, actually.

  • Reminds me of the poem Annabel Lee by Poe. Song:"Out where the stones stand up like thrones beside the ocean" Poem:"...In this kingdom by the sea"

Song:"You think some seraph up above

Is trying to rob us of our love"/"And we will hear the seraphs cry

For they will still envy you and I" Poem:"The angels, not half so happy in heaven,

Went envying her and me"/"the winged seraphs of heaven

    Coveted her and me"

  • this song reminds me of this Baseball Warlock by Cape Renewal. google them. only song i like by them though.

  • this is my favorite song

  • Every lyric these guys come up with is amazing

  • It's hard for me to stop listening to this band.

  • How could oyu not like this song

  • You cant deny the lyrical magic here theses men know something we dont

  • always have wonderful lyrics.

  • yummers

  • .lyrically brilliant.

  • I think this song is by far their best song ever.

  • I think I have to agree.

  • MMMMMM
