@seamoretwillnant it does so, this one is a link to the past (you go to a dark world and light world) and in the dark world monsters appear...usually tough scary ones! Plus the old man is famous in the zelda universe I just forget who he is. Lastly, it is showing us that this is gonna be epic and you need to get it! (plus since if you don't find the pearl you are stuck as a rabbit in the dark world which means you have to run just like the kid).
But maybe I saw a different version of it, because I remember Zelda being in it too; she was holding onto her dress with one nervous fist, if i remember correctly, in this dark and misty place swamp?? Anyone else remember that?
lol. This commercial totally enchanted me as a kid, but bugged me at the same time because the boy did not look at all like Link. ;p
this commercial made me WANT to buy the game for the GBA. i beat it in like 2-3 months but it's still one of the toughest games EVER. but it's also one of the greatest game sagas.
@deftoned You think that makes you so much cooler than the rest of us since you were there when the original first came out? You're such a hipster dude. There is almost no difference between the SNES version and the GBA version, so stop making it seem as if the ones who have only played the GBA version have missed out on something great. By the way, I've played a bit of the SNES version, so I know what I'm talking about.
That's why this is my favorite game of all time!

you even notice that many of the zelda commercials almost always have nothing to do with the actual game?

@seamoretwillnant are you saying this one had nothing to do with lttp?
the old dude was Sahasrahla and the armored guy was the first mini boss, in hyrule castle the ball and chain soldier guarding zelda.
