@greendayrules11 lol. Yes.. Bad Chinese Transmission. Synchronizers don't work. *Now it's - Didn't Work.. we pulled the trans, replaced defective 5th synchronizer.. We're just gonna baby the transmission till we get the tremec
@marcodz1 These mustangs are known for weak / defective getrag transmissions. Once the Tremec T56 Magnum S197 transmission is available, we may do more drag racing with this car. We'll also need drag slicks to break into the 10's. We're not pushing the car 100% yet. We'll focus on long term reliability, road course / high performance driving events and cooling for now.
@marcodz1 also, I'll be honest with you... We're still on the stock, original rear end, gears, drive shaft and transmission. Other shops have gone through axles, numerous ring & pinions, changed drive shafts, etc. 90% of the other guys have little mileage on those parts... whereas we have nearly 13,000 miles on them with 600tq / 600whp.
@JuStCaLLMeEvO How's this, you buy the drag slicks and all the replacement parts that will break, and we'll run a 10 second pass tomorrow.. Sound like a deal? It'll be about $7,000-8,000 worth of parts... tremec t56 magnum transmission, drive shaft, axles, ring & pinion and/or whole rear end. Otherwise, we're going to continue to enjoy a running twin turbo mustang on the street & road courses.
i have 3.55 gears so ive never had to shift into 5th even with a 150 shot of nitrous. but my freind who also has a 5.0 blew his 5th gear and that was on a stock car
hahaha okay you won this one i blew my tranny last Wednesday got stuck in second gear after a powershift but fortunately ford replaced it. i am now purchasing the hellion kit with the 76 mm precision ball bearing turbo wish me luck on that tuning adventure and also most likely a blown tranny..... again
@skinnyvinny287 I'd hold off on doing that stuff for a while. I'd recommend pre-ordering the Tremec T56 S197 Magnum transmission swap kit. The getrag can't hold up to crap.
so what stock tranny and street driven i have a 2011 gt with 17734mi on it its my daily driver and i drive it almost 100 mi to the track with slicks in the back seat, jack and impact wrench in trunk and turn 10.8 with a 125 shot power shifting every gear do about 8 -10 passes and drive home. trannys fine.
@skinnyvinny287 Good luck bud.. you'll soon find out why we didn't shift into 5th gear. Wait until you hear of all the problems with the MT-82 Chinese P.o.s. transmission
Over revving...he did it once shifting to fifth and once staying in fourth the fourth apperantly got a faster time!!!! Y'all should realy know the situation before u start tlking s***
He is not powershifting for a reason! It is a factory transmission in a street driven car....that is his ride to and from the track! He is being easy on it....besides it shows that even a novice driver can turn out an 11.4 with this setup....all factory internals!!!!!
Dude, you have all the fancy bolt on and enough data displays to make a star trek fan jealous. But the last comment is right. If your going to post videos of your driving, learn how to shift. Your time in shifting is costing you tons of time and consistency. Once you leave the line, if your hooked-up, you gas pedal stays on the floor even during shifting. You should be side stepping that clutch pedal too. Meaning, press down on the pedal, make your shift....
@ftlindust ..and slide your foot to the left letting the pedal return on it's own tension. Also, your geared wrong or your rev-limiter is wrong. You should be red-lined in top gear as you pass the finish line or your wasting time. My Olds goes through the lights at 8550 RPM's in 3rd on a automatic. 5k stall, 5:1 gear, 32.5" diameter slick. My shift point is 8600. Try adjusting with tire diameter first, it's cheaper and easier then swapping gears to get "geared" in. This post is ment as pos crit
wow gotta love the sound of the v8
