Paricutin is a monogenetic volcano, meaning it erupts only once in its life. However, if you look at google earth in the area surrounding Paricutin, you'll see many other older cinder cones. It's part of a volcanic field where each eruption is in a different place, rather than being centralized like in Mount Vesuvius. There will be more eruptions in the area of Paricutin in the future, but they will not be from Paricutin itself.
I'm a bit skeptical how scientists could be so sure of this, but apparently Paracutin is classified as extinct, being a monogenetic volcano (part of a volcanic field without an extensive plumbing system like a regular volcano). Like I say, how scientists, who struggle to predict things like when a volcano will erupt, can be so sure it is extinct and not just dormant sounds a bit fishy.
it´s not a fake I´m from Morelia and I´ve been there 2 times, it is so unbelieveble that the volcano didn´t do anything to the church... you should be there ´cause it´s a beatyful place
Dude, a swer to God it's not fake. I was there last week and it's very impressive how everything is covered by rocks. Probably the sounds of the blasts in the video are fake, but not the images or the story.
