@moosesmokespot def not a grand...well, not anymore anyway. Planeswalkers start high and then sink. Except Jace 2. Who got banned. The book promo Jace'll run you a pretty penny, but you can get the rest of the cards for 100 bucks or less.
but what else do you cut for 2x more teramnats you dont want to cut the oblesse you dont want to cut the charmes or the crule or in to the rollers so what else do you cut..
very cool deck list but I wounder if drooping the loomanrk accnest to add 2 more teramants would be a very good add to the deck list seeing as I want to try our this list but I soo want to add more teramants to the build..bye
i built this deck, and i think you would want to take something else out, because luminarch ascension is very good, and has good synergy with the planeswalkers
Ive noticed tht you use almost all rare or mithic rare crads... how much cash u got? or is it from winning torneys? cuz i just started and i have 2 mithics but 1 is a planeswalker the other is a rampaging baloth. i dont know how u get the amount of mithics and rares u have but nice colection.
Varies how you play: if you draft or not, have enough budget or no to get boxes and seeing the cards' hype. For exemple Ajani Vengant used to be overlooked and not worth so much. Lands and mana bases often cost the most. You can build good decks with only comons and uncommons.
rather then lightning bolt you should try n add volcanic fallout (it cant be countered n it hits all creatures n players for 2 dmg) or pyroclasm (it hits all creatures 2 dmg) or maybe infest (it gives all creatures -2/-2) they are all commons n arnt that much to buy
Sorin Markov is the best planeswalker in deck becaus when it comes into play you may use his second ability - Target player Life total become 10- and you can overrun him then ! Very good deck but very slow !
I would really like to see your sideboard, if you want, post it here or sen message :)
I've tested the deck a bit, and I can say that this deck is weak against other planeswalker decks and such, maybe oblivion rings or maelstrom pulse could be good in the sideboard.
the deck needs chandra nalaar , 1 less into the roil and 1 more luminarch ascension should be a helpful change. obelisk of alara is generally a worse then cruel.
Not really. His list is above the curve for this format and has way to many win conditions. I replaced those problems with better interactions with his opponent.
I dont really agree with your changes. Might be true about the win conditions and you can add in cards like Pulse to keep removal, but I dont like your additions. They seem pointless and screw the deck up to a situation that it doesnt want to be in. Adding Green ruins the mana base.
I disagree that my additions are pointless. LB over BB for a lower curve, Mindbreak is the best card for your worst matchup, Naya Charm returns walkers, fogs, and kills creatures. Garruk eases your curve and puts out blockers. Green doesn't "ruin" the mana; the mana isn't good reguardless. Rupture Spires are unplayable in this format.
I get a good chuckle out of all the posters who completely dismiss this as a shit deck without seeing it in action, and assume EVERYONE is going to side or maindeck 4 hexmages for a rogue deck matchup, it's just so cute :P.
Really like the idea though, I'd like to see it gain some steam.
im using planar cleansing maindeck along new wrath anyway - i'd beat u with multiple destruction of planeswalkers plus taking ur ancension away. One advise is to add counterspells, they do alot in this deck because of the many threats of the metagame.
Cool vid, will we see some recorded matches in the near future? Either post-zen Standard or Extended would be fine with me, I really enjoy watching them.
well , i think since vampires is probably going to be the most popular standard deck, most people will either be running 4 hexmage in the maindeck, or 4 in the side board.
not to mention that, vampires can win turn 5 , get your oppenent to scoop turn 4.
I DUNNO BRIAN
i geuss i havent played this, so i wouldnt really know though.
I've check the sources and the only "Pro" that i have seen post a list that contains Hexmage is Cedric Philips. I still doubt the playability of the card and most likely see it as a sideboard option.
Time will tell when standard actually fleshes itself out in the next few weeks.
Well this is what Paulo Vitor Dama Da Rosa says.. (he made 2 top 8 standard pro tours last year (lol)) "I would also definitely play four Vampire Hexmages in this format. The body with first strike is not irrelevant, blocking and killing most of the, for example (and Goblin Guide *cough cough*). All the control decks are pretty big on Planeswalkers now."
Was there an actual tournament that PV played in or are you just taking his recommendations for deck types? there are differences between saying that a pro plays a card and a pro recommends a card.
well yeah.. this was taken from his most recent article from SCG, reffering to that last 5k.. but his standard vampire list does INCLUDE 4 Hexmage in the main :)
This seems like a really fun deck to play. It isn't too streamlined, and playing a bunch of planeswalkers is always fun. I am a bit sceptical of running four Ajanis and Jaces, then again I've never played with the deck, so I guess I wouldn't know. Also, it does not run Insane Cobra, which is always a good thing. Seems to be very, very expensive, but then again most decks that are competitive in Standard are expensive, so no surprises.
Me neither, but I have decided to hate Lotus Cobra for the sole reason for hating it. I've yet to play against it, but if I do, I kill it right there and then, right?
Seems like with the popularity of Blightning and all the spot removal running around, Hindering Light might be an adequate counterspell. As it is, it acts as a Remand +. It doesn't give you the time walk effect, instead it's a true hard counter. If you're playing control in whatever form, it doesn't seem bad at all. Brining in Negates from the board helps a lot too. I've also been maindecking Identity Crisis in the 4color control deck I've been playing. The options and answer are there.
I need to tune my board differently. There were about 27 at last weeks FNM at our local store. There were probably 18-20 Jund Cascade/Agro decks in the room. I might switch it up and go with your list instead of just a regular 4cc like I did last week. A lot of them weren't running Pulse, and thats all they have for Planeswalkers ebsides attacking into them or Bolting them. We'll see.
dude, today i had a bet with my friend i bet that bitumous blast was 4 mana and he said 5, i thought i was right but we bet and when he won he had to punch me in the f**cking face, magic hurts :(
Right now, control decks in general are pretty soft to Blightning. It is a problem that control decks will have to figure out in order to survive. That is why the $5k results had one control deck in the top 16. Right now it is best to just be coming up with ideas
What a horrible deck. Get over 4 and 5 cc people it's going to die eventually. Sheep building decks based off old formats. This deck is toast to anything that is somewhat aggro. And if you play anywhere else besides fnm and they know how to play aggro against a control deck. you're done. Plus I have 4 pithing needles in my sb and 4 vampire hexmage, 4 duress main. That deck loses to my vampires. You can into the roil my gatekeeper.
Looks good. Although I am worried about how fast the format is shaping up to be. We got jund, r/w aggro, mono red burn/haste and mono white soldiers. That tends to be the effects of a rotation. Aggro pops up everywhere, but regardless, things look really really fast right now. :/
Jund was the only deck i lost to with this deck. I decided to take out baneslayer int he board and put in Jwar Jwar Sphinx. The shroud is proving to be useful. We discuss this card more in detail on Episode 39 of our latest podcast. check it out.
