  • the decks called "superfriends"

  • would the deck have enough creature destruction since you dont have creatures to block there attacks on your planeswalkers?

  • Just to make sure I am not counting wrong, is this running 61 cards?

  • Thrumming bird ftw.

  • This deck was made before worldwake was even out how could he get contagion enegine :D

  • He needs 4 Contagion engine for Proliferation

  • you do know he is not a dragon he may take the form of a dragon but he is a bolas indicated bellow the image.

  • perhaps some proliferation would help.

  • isn't that deck very very slow? Oh wait you said it at the end!

  • isn't that deck very very slow?

  • God this was badass, and wouldve worked if the vivid / reflecting lands were legal when this video was made. :]

  • best friends

  • a nice deck man

  • 5 color COntrol PW is pure fun sauce

  • You should run walls of denials.

  • nice Foil elspeth;)

  • lol u win most expensive deck to not run baneslayer!!!

  • cool thanks

  • What did you take out to put the agony warps in.

  • bit blast

  • Wouldnt that deck cost alot of money? like, a grand or more....

  • no idea, i dont buy cards i just open them or trade.

  • @moosesmokespot

at the time most of the walkers were about 10$ except Elsbeth

  • @moosesmokespot yes

  • @moosesmokespot lol no not a grand.

  • @moosesmokespot

    LOL NO!

  • @moosesmokespot def not a grand...well, not anymore anyway. Planeswalkers start high and then sink. Except Jace 2. Who got banned. The book promo Jace'll run you a pretty penny, but you can get the rest of the cards for 100 bucks or less.

  • Can you post an updated decklist?

  • i dont have one.

  • @carthwolf Can you MAKE one?

  • @dicebagdaryl Of planeswalkers? I haven't played much magic lately. I dont think I would be qualified to make a good planeswalker deck atm.

  • Why dont you put lighting bolts?

  • You should call that deck [power rangers].lol

  • but what else do you cut for 2x more teramnats you dont want to cut the oblesse you dont want to cut the charmes or the crule or in to the rollers so what else do you cut..

  • I put in 2 agony warps. The mana is easier and it does more for killing something and fogging.

  • very cool deck list but I wounder if drooping the loomanrk accnest to add 2 more teramants would be a very good add to the deck list seeing as I want to try our this list but I soo want to add more teramants to the build..bye

  • i built this deck, and i think you would want to take something else out, because luminarch ascension is very good, and has good synergy with the planeswalkers

  • just a question, is your deck supposed to be running 61 cards, cuz i did a decklist, and counted 61 cards using the exact same decklist

  • i decided to run 61 yes.

  • You can save alot using Terramorphic Expanse instead of four of the fetch lands and duals from Zendikar.a little slower but still fun

  • Well obviously it depends on where ya get the cards but mine based on cost in my area...about four hundred bucks.yikes.

  • how much would this deck cost?

  • probably quite a bit =(

  • show off deck and good too

  • rofl, nice idea there dude :)

But ....... toooooo much expensive :(

  • And i put in two Thought Hemmorage cause i only got three Ajani and Day of Judgment and its great

  • I also used Grixis Charm instead of Esper.more bounce and it kills Malakir Bloodwitch

  • Comment removed

  • hey will you guys do a play of a eldrazi green or a jaceretor deck?

  • YELLOW SLEEVES FTW!!!!

  • i built this deck and i love it =] it won my fnm 4-0

  • i really reccomend grixis charms on this deck. it has bounce and kill to protect planeswalkers, and can pump alot of angels for a heavy beatdown.

  • Ive noticed tht you use almost all rare or mithic rare crads... how much cash u got? or is it from winning torneys? cuz i just started and i have 2 mithics but 1 is a planeswalker the other is a rampaging baloth. i dont know how u get the amount of mithics and rares u have but nice colection.

  • how much money do you have i mean dam you run top dollar cards

  • what the fuck its not for type 2?

  • this is ^^ the new set just came out not long back n alot of the cards in it are from it =P

  • I want to net deck this next friday. would anyone recomend playing it in type2, or too risky?

  • can we see this deck play an aggro deck?

  • why did you go with a 61 card deck?

  • do i have to buy every card seperate or dose it come in one huge deck. also how much dose it cost??

  • Varies how you play: if you draft or not, have enough budget or no to get boxes and seeing the cards' hype. For exemple Ajani Vengant used to be overlooked and not worth so much. Lands and mana bases often cost the most. You can build good decks with only comons and uncommons.

  • could i add lightning bolt instead of day of jugd. im on a budget. only 14 =/ christmas= this deck =]

  • rather then lightning bolt you should try n add volcanic fallout (it cant be countered n it hits all creatures n players for 2 dmg) or pyroclasm (it hits all creatures 2 dmg) or maybe infest (it gives all creatures -2/-2) they are all commons n arnt that much to buy

  • Sorin Markov is the best planeswalker in deck becaus when it comes into play you may use his second ability - Target player Life total become 10- and you can overrun him then ! Very good deck but very slow !

  • I still standby the fact that Jace and Ajani are the best. Sorins good but not close to the power for the cost of the aforementioned.

  • this deck runs 61 cards?

  • It does. Bryan told me the other day that it is to achieve 25.5 lands

  • I would really like to see your sideboard, if you want, post it here or sen message :)

I've tested the deck a bit, and I can say that this deck is weak against other planeswalker decks and such, maybe oblivion rings or maelstrom pulse could be good in the sideboard.

  • the deck needs chandra nalaar , 1 less into the roil and 1 more luminarch ascension should be a helpful change. obelisk of alara is generally a worse then cruel.

  • wow.... lots of foil. i want them too =]

  • eh ive tested 4 color mana bases more than enough and they sure do suck

how can you not play premission?

what can you do against goblin ruinblaster that is hugely popular because its good against jund?

also its funny how you cant counter pulse which can destroy your freaking win cons like obelisk and bolas.

  • in the board you have permission.

  • :P .

  • -1 Nicol, -1 Sorin, -1 Vess, -2 Bituminous Blast, -3 Into the Roil, -1 Cruel, -1 Obelisk, -2 Luminarch, -1 Terminate. +4 Garruk, +3 Naya Charm, +2 Lightning Bolt, +4 Mindbreak Trap. Mana is bad. Other than that it's playable.

  • Your comments are legit for YOUR deck, but this is his deck. So do these suggestions fit within HIS deck strategy?

  • Bad advice is bad.

  • Who is responsible this.

  • What? I am responding to lllllllll who is 3 posts below my original post.

  • Not really. His list is above the curve for this format and has way to many win conditions. I replaced those problems with better interactions with his opponent.

  • I dont really agree with your changes. Might be true about the win conditions and you can add in cards like Pulse to keep removal, but I dont like your additions. They seem pointless and screw the deck up to a situation that it doesnt want to be in. Adding Green ruins the mana base.

  • Comment removed

  • I disagree that my additions are pointless. LB over BB for a lower curve, Mindbreak is the best card for your worst matchup, Naya Charm returns walkers, fogs, and kills creatures. Garruk eases your curve and puts out blockers. Green doesn't "ruin" the mana; the mana isn't good reguardless. Rupture Spires are unplayable in this format.

  • sent you a message.

  • I get a good chuckle out of all the posters who completely dismiss this as a shit deck without seeing it in action, and assume EVERYONE is going to side or maindeck 4 hexmages for a rogue deck matchup, it's just so cute :P.

Really like the idea though, I'd like to see it gain some steam.

  • Thanks for the comment!

  • I herd u can't kick a spell if ur cascaded into it

  • I sure hope you're kidding...

  • looks fun. i hope you keep us posted on your podcast about how well you do with the deck!

  • im using planar cleansing maindeck along new wrath anyway - i'd beat u with multiple destruction of planeswalkers plus taking ur ancension away. One advise is to add counterspells, they do alot in this deck because of the many threats of the metagame.

  • Sorry Bryan, i just think this decks more of a flashy deck.

but prove all us skeptics wrong, lets see some gameplay.

    like, you vs stan bessy.

    lets see what hes runninnn

  • Cool vid, will we see some recorded matches in the near future? Either post-zen Standard or Extended would be fine with me, I really enjoy watching them.

  • this deck need green for garuk and pulse kill needle

  • what removal cards do you blank? i think it's only path to exile. they can use that on themselves to ramp instead i guess so it's not blanked.

  • I hope my opponent uses their removal on their creatures. I'm totally okay with that.

  • I would really like to see this deck in play if you get the chance. Looks REALLY interesting.

  • i tested and i liked =) But Doble negative on side its better then that trap.

  • oooo

    forgot about that card.

  • What do u think about a red green deck for the new set

  • ok i tested one copy of Magosi, and it is very very good, you should try it out.

  • Do you think that Magosi, The Waterveil would be good in this deck? This seems like the deck it would be perfect for, if it was to go in any deck.

  • Have you ever played against the nightmare that is 4 Vampire Hexmages and 4 Pithing Needles?

  • No sir. But honestly i dont consider vampires a real contender till it gets a few more cards added to it in future sets.

  • Oh yeah,

make a video of you beating stan :D

    or just playing him

  • Stan is in Austin for the Pro Tour.

  • is this 61 cards?

  • yes. offsets the amount of lands. You can cut a card if you wish.

  • I didn't realize until the end that you don't run ANY creatures. This is a cool deck.

  • Minkbreak Trap against what?

  • cascade can be annoying. I would also recommend Swerve in the board for blighting.

  • vampire hexmage recks this.

    :'[

  • Not as bad as one would think.

  • well , i think since vampires is probably going to be the most popular standard deck, most people will either be running 4 hexmage in the maindeck, or 4 in the side board.

not to mention that, vampires can win turn 5 , get your oppenent to scoop turn 4.

    I DUNNO BRIAN

i geuss i havent played this, so i wouldnt really know though.

  • Hexmage only hurts planeswalkers. I dont think it is a card that warrants Main decking. Even in the board it is pretty weak.

    Btw my name is Bryan.

  • bryan greer? HOLY SHIT BRYAN GREER

  • all the pros play 3-4 maindeck..

  • I've check the sources and the only "Pro" that i have seen post a list that contains Hexmage is Cedric Philips. I still doubt the playability of the card and most likely see it as a sideboard option.

Time will tell when standard actually fleshes itself out in the next few weeks.

  • Well this is what Paulo Vitor Dama Da Rosa says.. (he made 2 top 8 standard pro tours last year (lol)) "I would also definitely play four Vampire Hexmages in this format. The body with first strike is not irrelevant, blocking and killing most of the, for example (and Goblin Guide *cough cough*). All the control decks are pretty big on Planeswalkers now."

  • Was there an actual tournament that PV played in or are you just taking his recommendations for deck types? there are differences between saying that a pro plays a card and a pro recommends a card.

  • well yeah.. this was taken from his most recent article from SCG, reffering to that last 5k.. but his standard vampire list does INCLUDE 4 Hexmage in the main :)

  • lol,PVDR made top 8 of Austin with four Vampire Hexmage. To be fair it was for creating 20/20 marit liege tokens rather than killing planeswalkers.

  • Well, this is a standard deck, and the marit lage combo is in extended and maybe legacy.

  • It looks fun, but it's too slow for constructed. I'd drop the Luminarch's, 1 into the roil, and a day of judgment for some pyroclasms.

  • nice deck,

so shiny, I like it very much.

  • i dont like the obelisk or the cruel, might as well run another luminarch ascension and another liliana or nicol bolas?

  • Would die to vamps...if not preboard post board. They are fun decks to play against though

  • This seems like a really fun deck to play. It isn't too streamlined, and playing a bunch of planeswalkers is always fun. I am a bit sceptical of running four Ajanis and Jaces, then again I've never played with the deck, so I guess I wouldn't know. Also, it does not run Insane Cobra, which is always a good thing. Seems to be very, very expensive, but then again most decks that are competitive in Standard are expensive, so no surprises.

  • Thanks for the comment, I dont see how Lotus Cobra would help this deck at all.

  • Me neither, but I have decided to hate Lotus Cobra for the sole reason for hating it. I've yet to play against it, but if I do, I kill it right there and then, right?

  • luminarch assention has no place in constructed play

  • Oh yeah, then how come the Mono White control deck that got 10th at Philly uses it? Answer me that!

  • Cause this is the start of a new format, there is always nooby junk about this time, and tenth? who cares.

  • Seems like with the popularity of Blightning and all the spot removal running around, Hindering Light might be an adequate counterspell. As it is, it acts as a Remand +. It doesn't give you the time walk effect, instead it's a true hard counter. If you're playing control in whatever form, it doesn't seem bad at all. Brining in Negates from the board helps a lot too. I've also been maindecking Identity Crisis in the 4color control deck I've been playing. The options and answer are there.

  • All those cards are currently in my sideboard.

the board i run currently looks like this

    3 Hindering light

    2 Identity Crisis

    2 Mindbreak Trap

    3 Jwar Jwar Sphinx

    4 Celestial Purge

    1 Terminate

  • I need to tune my board differently. There were about 27 at last weeks FNM at our local store. There were probably 18-20 Jund Cascade/Agro decks in the room. I might switch it up and go with your list instead of just a regular 4cc like I did last week. A lot of them weren't running Pulse, and thats all they have for Planeswalkers ebsides attacking into them or Bolting them. We'll see.

  • Vampire Hexmage, is really crushing v. this, especially post board where I can put in my pithing needles and grave to hand spells.

  • dude, today i had a bet with my friend i bet that bitumous blast was 4 mana and he said 5, i thought i was right but we bet and when he won he had to punch me in the f**cking face, magic hurts :(

  • 5c and prob even 4c are dead -again

no more counter lands means no more mana base otherwise cool idea

  • Very creative. I hope you make a video of you playtesting it too, maybe against something new, like Aggro Vampires.

  • Loses to blighting, jund, boros and anything aggro.

    Cool? Yes. Good? no.

  • another person that doesnt know how to play magic.

  • Right now, control decks in general are pretty soft to Blightning. It is a problem that control decks will have to figure out in order to survive. That is why the $5k results had one control deck in the top 16. Right now it is best to just be coming up with ideas

  • thank god someone agrees with me

  • What a horrible deck. Get over 4 and 5 cc people it's going to die eventually. Sheep building decks based off old formats. This deck is toast to anything that is somewhat aggro. And if you play anywhere else besides fnm and they know how to play aggro against a control deck. you're done. Plus I have 4 pithing needles in my sb and 4 vampire hexmage, 4 duress main. That deck loses to my vampires. You can into the roil my gatekeeper.

  • This guy is obv retarded...

  • Day of Judgement. Nicol Bolas next turn. GG's son!

  • Looks good. Although I am worried about how fast the format is shaping up to be. We got jund, r/w aggro, mono red burn/haste and mono white soldiers. That tends to be the effects of a rotation. Aggro pops up everywhere, but regardless, things look really really fast right now. :/

  • Jund was the only deck i lost to with this deck. I decided to take out baneslayer int he board and put in Jwar Jwar Sphinx. The shroud is proving to be useful. We discuss this card more in detail on Episode 39 of our latest podcast. check it out.

  • interesting version...can we see it in action in another vid?

  • its a slow deck, it wouldnt be a walkthrough, just a straight game.

  • Awesome, good watch ty.
