They are far to expensive for what they are and they are very unreliable which right now is very important in sandy areas such as Afghanistan. Dont reffer to them as "Your russian plane" I am British so actually i have an unbiased view on this.
Thats why Pilots of Eurofighters have a special suit (at least over here) which makes that possible. There are only a few Eurofighter in Afghanistan they are now in Libya. No plane is good in sandy territory because the sand is bad for every engine. Even if i hate these computer simulations but 82% of aerial combat would win the EF against a Su-35 the F-22 91%.

I think stealth planes (F-22 and F-35) are a dead end. Far too expensive. New radars unstealth these planes. Visual range combat is going to be the rule.
@Germanyisthebest1 Every plane has a radar cross section. Stealth just means that you have a very small radar cross section. It's not about whether you can be unstealthed, every plane can be. It's about at what distance this may be done. The F22 is not invisible to radar.
I don't mean to say that stealth is useless. But, it is not the most important aspect of a fighter plane. Nevertheless huge amounts are money are being spent for this feature alone. Then you have infrared sensors. Visual identification. So radar cross section is only one aspect of stealth.

The EF2000 isn't easy to see on radar to. Stealth isn't invisible modern radars can detect stealth fighters. The F22 will not win ! When the communication systems, radar and weapon systems is out then it's only stealth. A fighter without this systems on is worthless "so what if it's stealthy" ? The EU is working on a new radar that will make the Eurofighter even more stealthy. The F22 has many problems corrosion, high cost, system failures. The EF2000 has everything a good fighter needs.

@jc005e The Eurofighter was purposely designed NOT TO BE STEALTH! It was specifically designed as a fats interceptor to meet the launch of Russian bombers! Stealth was not a requirement! The plane was designed during the 'cold war' era and when the plane came into active service, the 'cold war' had finished. The futuristic Joint Strike Fighter designed in UK and jointly built in US and UK are to be put on carriers where 'stealth' is a requirement as the will have an attack role!

@jc005e from the word "the" - "classified". can be said about every single jet of today. the f22 could never sustain a 9g turn for long. this is many factors. the design of the f22, doesn't have any canards. this means the f22 is unable to hold a tight angle, and therefore 9g. the F22 can constantly reach 9g frequently, but not sustained. ive spoken the some EF pilots at an airshow, and they are really short. one claimed he was once 5"11, and there he was in his 30's 5"6-8 ish.

@jc005e There are many different methods of measuring turn speed. In a sustained high speed turn the F-22 and the Rafale are slightly better. However the Typhoon can dump speed and turn instintaniously which is a trick the other aircraft can not do. If you have ever piloted a speedboat you will know that's the way to do it. Such comparisons are useless anyway since these aircraft do different jobs and do, genuinely have diferent "pros and cons" but that level of reaonableness is not for YouTube

When you send troops into harms way you give them the best and not a plane that makes local jobs. I am surprised the USAF allowed NATO this much technology plus the F-35-L2-NJSF has stealth capability that can be upgraded. The USAF Top Gun Acadamy and training by our USAF pilots cannot be beat. Plus it standardizes and had universal repair and maintenance for every NATO member.

The USAF has a lot of time for the Typhoon - literally, as they run a rolling exercise programme with RAF Typhoons out of China Lake. The Typhoons act as 'aggressors' for F-22s because they are better than F-15s (which is saying a lot) and compare well with potential enemy Sukhois. Typhoon is the only system to have 'shot down' F-22s in simulated combat.

This Plane could do litte in Libia, it was the Rafiale and the Tornado that did the Job, The RAF has spent most of it's allocation of these planes in the tranch 1 and 2, to make a political statement, These planes cannot do ground attack, (but once) Thats what is in demand now. The Tornado preseded it, and if the get the F 35 on track, it will replace the Tornado.
The Typhoon will just be relagated to a stunt plane. (why else will no one else buy it?)

Thats why Pilots of Eurofighters have a special suit (at least over here) which makes that possible. There are only a few Eurofighter in Afghanistan they are now in Libya. No plane is good in sandy territory because the sand is bad for every engine. Even if i hate these computer simulations but 82% of aerial combat would win the EF against a Su-35 the F-22 91%.

My dream airforce:
Eurofighter Typhoon for dogfighting;
Rafale (or modified typhoon) for aircraft carrier;
A-10 thunderbolt (and/or Apache helicopters) for close air support;
F-16 or Tornado as fighter/bombers
Awacs and UAVs for air reconnaissance
I think stealth planes (F-22 and F-35) are a dead end. Far too expensive. New radars unstealth these planes. Visual range combat is going to be the rule.

I don't mean to say that stealth is useless. But, it is not the most important aspect of a fighter plane. Nevertheless huge amounts are money are being spent for this feature alone. Then you have infrared sensors. Visual identification. So radar cross section is only one aspect of stealth.

The EF2000 isn't easy to see on radar to. Stealth isn't invisible modern radars can detect stealth fighters. The F22 will not win ! When the communication systems, radar and weapon systems is out then it's only stealth. A fighter without this systems on is worthless "so what if it's stealthy" ? The EU is working on a new radar that will make the Eurofighter even more stealthy. The F22 has many problems corrosion, high cost, system failures. The EF2000 has everything a good fighter needs.

@jc005e The Eurofighter was purposely designed NOT TO BE STEALTH! It was specifically designed as a fats interceptor to meet the launch of Russian bombers! Stealth was not a requirement! The plane was designed during the 'cold war' era and when the plane came into active service, the 'cold war' had finished. The futuristic Joint Strike Fighter designed in UK and jointly built in US and UK are to be put on carriers where 'stealth' is a requirement as the will have an attack role!

@jc005e from the word "the" - "classified". can be said about every single jet of today. the f22 could never sustain a 9g turn for long. this is many factors. the design of the f22, doesn't have any canards. this means the f22 is unable to hold a tight angle, and therefore 9g. the F22 can constantly reach 9g frequently, but not sustained. ive spoken the some EF pilots at an airshow, and they are really short. one claimed he was once 5"11, and there he was in his 30's 5"6-8 ish.

@jc005e There are many different methods of measuring turn speed. In a sustained high speed turn the F-22 and the Rafale are slightly better. However the Typhoon can dump speed and turn instintaniously which is a trick the other aircraft can not do. If you have ever piloted a speedboat you will know that's the way to do it. Such comparisons are useless anyway since these aircraft do different jobs and do, genuinely have diferent "pros and cons" but that level of reaonableness is not for YouTube

@sigis72 Eurofagger was obsolete B4 it flew its first test flight. It has control problems with computer system. When you send troops into harms way you give them the best and not a plane that makes local jobs. I am surprised the USAF allowed NATO this much technology plus the F-35-L2-NJSF has stealth capability that can be upgraded. The USAF Top Gun Acadamy and training by our USAF pilots cannot be beat. Plus it standardizes and had universal repair and maintenance for every NATO member.

The USAF has a lot of time for the Typhoon - literally, as they run a rolling exercise programme with RAF Typhoons out of China Lake. The Typhoons act as 'aggressors' for F-22s because they are better than F-15s (which is saying a lot) and compare well with potential enemy Sukhois. Typhoon is the only system to have 'shot down' F-22s in simulated combat.
