@Flyinginthebluedream Want to talk about picking technique? Chris Poland has the most unique style there is in Megadeth. Marty's tone isn't even close to being as clean as chris's. And that isn't opinion i remember when people had i like holy wars guitar track up online and i compared it to Chris's black friday solo (at the end) and it was way cleaner. Marty is good but not as good.

Drover was good, i enjoy almost all of his work. but to tell the truth Broderick is probably one of the best guitarists in metal, as well a classical, and almost every other style

Broderick can do some amazing stuff, but along with Jeff Young, he's my least favourite Megadeth guitarist. Chris Poland was a creative genius, Marty Friedman was a master of melody, Al Pitrelli just plain rocked, and even though Glen Drover murdered all of Friedman's solos, his own solos were jaw-droppingly good. Chris has got incredible chops and he thinks outside the box, but his tone is dreadful and his phrasing is dodgy.

I saw a vid with Glen Drover doing a Megadeth solo and wasn't impressed. This guy is touring with them for 11 days and sounds this good and not to mention got with the band just a few months ago. Pretty amazing.

I didn't notice the bendings until I read this. He is right, you can tell by listening to the sound from this video of the string bendings part. There are other vids w/ this solo that show the lead guitarist bending the strings that match the sound on the album.
