that woz an amazing 4mins of footage....my maternal family have lived in plymouth for generations and i sat watching this in awe at the thought that i could be watching my gran on the beach, or shopping with my great-grandmother....surreal....beutiful to watch...thanx for putting it here.
wow! this is far out. one of these kids could be my dad and auntie!!! they lived in plymouth at this time and swam here all the time. they got their medals for swimming out to the sound! this is arare treasure! thank you so much for posting this! :)))
It's odd to see how the community has chaged, people took time to relax, and recreation has chaged too, I saw the young girl playing hockey on the beach, you wouldn't see that anymore.
I didn't see a single fat person either.
The comunity spirit and the 'simple pleasures' is what reached me.
Thanks for puttin this up.
And when boats or suchings come in the childen flock to out interest rather than to heral abuse
Wow, I didn;t realise the diving board had been there for so long. I remember in the 80's everyone used to stop in their tracks if someone was going to dive off the top board. It was all eyes on the diver.... Also interesting views of Plymouth beofre it was flatterned during the blitz - thank you. A lovely city, and very much underrated.
