  • Thank you both (Geneva and husband) for making and sharing such a lovely video of the way birth is supposed to happen. I also am thrilled to see another mom smiling through transition, like I did while I labored and birthed my daughter (second child, first homebirth). Now I'm pregnant with kid #3 and planning another homebirth, and it is SO encouraging and helpful to see videos and read stories from lovely families like yours!

  • aww my birthday is feb. 3rd too :)

  • This video is better than James birth

  • "so... we're going to have a baby tonight" she says it like " so.... we're going to have chicken for diner." just real gross and creepy with very inappropriate music. Just a creepy video. There is no way I would put my most intimate moments on youtube and then edit it like an asshole. just gross.

  • Im curious as to what the first song is?

Congrats on the birth of your little one/ones as I have seen you have just had another! She looked like a trooper!! Good work :D

  • Dopplers are dangerous...babies don't like them, but film is nice:)

  • wats the song at 3:33

  • This was so beautiful and loving. I choose not to have children of mine own due to heredity problems and I have never even seen a birth before today. Thanks for bringing a child (I guess now 2 children!) into a caring, warm family. Your love for one another shines through!

  • awweeee thank you for sharing this :) so lovely

  • I was moved to tears. I'm a 48 yo grandfather. Thanks for sharing. How brave.

  • Wonderful!!!!amazing couple and hansom little man!!!!!

  • That is so inspirational that shee couldnt help but smile while she was in so much pain. Ive never seen too two people in as much love as you too are! This video made me cry so much! I hope to find a husband as good as you are soon and have sexy bbies! haha

  • I think that home birth is good and cheap! I thought it was sad when that one girl did a home birth all by herself with no ones help and no one was there. that is just sad. but i guess it was her own fault for being a slut i guess

  • Damn

  • Thank you for sharing. I find myself at a quarter past ten most nights looking to watch at least one healthy happy home birth... Those closest to me are very supportive of my desire to do a home birth, but I do get occasional negative comments from the few who disapprove. I sleep a little sounder with another families success on my mind as I contemplate my approaching/first labor experience consciously and unconsciously.

  • @EmalineBlack I got plenty of negative or doubtful comments leading up to this birth, and I too found it so helpful to see and read about the positive experiences of others. I spent the last few weeks just devouring birth stories online. I wish you a beautiful, happy, healthy birth, and I'd be happy to answer questions if you have any! Ten days ago we welcomed our second son in another wonderful (albeit very different!) homebirth and it was just as incredible experience as the first time. :)

  • It's hard not to cry with such a beautiful mama and beautiful daddy and beautiful birth. I'm due in two months, and I thank you for sharing this. I hope to be smiling too. After all, it's one of the most incredible things that can happen.

  • @zomba23 Right on!!!

  • to be a mother is great experience

  • Ar00:43 uoy can see the cat

  • thank you for sharing your lovely positive experience, this is what women need to give them confidence

  • lovly wife, i wish i have a gf or wife like her, she was soo lovly i have seen some other women that are crying and shouting scraming ohhhhhhhh, oaaaaaahhhhh.

    she was soo calm.

  • @pepdoggdammexican. You don't know anything about them. My mom had an at home birth and she is a millonare.

  • This is what I want!

  • That's how poor people have babies.

  • @pepdoggdamexican that has got to be one of the most ignorant comment I have read. Some women have a fear of hospitals especially when it comes to new babies. I have had 4 babies and I personally would never choose to deliver at home. I get paranoid of waht could go wrong and being in hospital helps to settle me down. I have tons of respect for someone who has the courage and strength to accomplish delivering a baby in their own home!

  • this is one of my favourite videos about birth. Everyone is supporting the mother and everyone seems to be relaxed and happy. i like the cat walking through the video, in the background , and i find it so good, that the father is not beeing excluded.taking part in his own way.We dont need to be afraid of birth... this is the wonderful message of this video... i will watch it again and again, until i am no more afraid of birth... thank you for posting it !!!! :) ***

  • Amazing, Simply amazing. Thanks so much for sharing this amazing video!

  • this is stupid

  • @gncc94 WHAT THE FUCK?!

Why would you call a past of your life stupid!? Speaking of being an idiot, you top the scale.

That bug in your mind is dying from the stench of being a retard and going to hell won't be a fucking

punishment. Go back the time YOU were born and let that whore or, your mother call you stupid. witch in

    this case, you are...Pff, stupid...

  • wow!I haven't seen a mom who has that kind of wonderful smiles in between contractions,...wonderful...:)

  • kITTY cat :)))

  • Thanks for sharing this, I feel kind of weird being a stranger to you and all but it was really great seeing this done at home and how brave you were. Beautiful baby by the way.

  • Lovely video. It looks like you had a nice homebirth and a super cute little boy! I also had a homebirth, last summer. My little boy is 9 months now. It was a great experience as well. Thanks for sharing!

  • WOW! Well done you! Your baby is SO beautiful!

  • beautiful :)

  • Woww Youu Havee A Beauiltful Family an Nicee Videoo I Cantt Waitt Intell Myy Auntt An Momm Have Theree Babyy....... :) :) <3 :)

  • how come fat chicks alwayz have homebirths?

  • @Thathicksboy1 - I'm not quite sure that was appropriate. I believe she is positively gorgeous. I plan on having a home birth when I have my first child (hopefully not for a couple more years) and I'm not heavy set, so it doesn't matter if you are heavy set or not. Please refrain from posting rude comments, thanks. :)

  • @Thathicksboy1 I wouldn't apologize to me, more to the owner of the vid, but it's alright. Just think about what you say to people! ^^ The importance of this vid is how strong the mother was when she gave birth to her child, considering it is a homebirth, and even more important is the baby's birth. Treat others how you expect to be treated :D

  • This was beautiful! Thank you for sharing!

  • Where the fuck is the damn pushing

  • This is the most beautiful thing I have ever seen. Your wife is so strong and such a beautiful woman. And your son is beyond words. Thanks for sharing!

  • aww this is the cutes birth video ever :)

your husband is vewry suportive, & im suprised you were smiling

most women are either screaming or telling the husband stuff lol :)

the baby is soo kutee :)

  • I have been comparing my labors to other women and you guys made it look painless and easy! I felt and sounded like I was dying lol! I guess every woman"s pain threshold varies! I had an epidural twice and it still was excruciating!

  • Really great video. Really inspires me. Congrats to you and your wife and your new sprout:)

  • it's a beautiful video

  • @ncarty13 Well, if you read most of the other comments, I'm sure you'd see that a number of people have found it reassuring or even educational to see an example of birth that doesn't involve a hospital, fear, or medication. When I was pregnant (this is the mother in the video, btw), I found it immensely helpful to watch videos of birth on Youtube in preparation. So, there's a couple reasons for ya! :)

  • @marcclawson57 I saw loads of birth videos on Youtube and read a really big set of stories about chid birth. It's important to be prepared and there's nothing better than seeing other mothers giving birth. Congrats!

  • I was afraid to have birth but after seeing thiserful family it showed me how happy you can be and that i can do it thank so much by the way such a wond

  • @janeballet25 You absolutely can do it!

  • bütün

  • I had a baby on that very same day...just about 4 hours later! It was obviously a wonderful day for natural deliveries! This was a very lovely video indeed!

  • gorgeous baby! btw.

  • I think this is the way to give birth...no anal nurses. (my older siss was giving birth to her second child and she had problems with some of the more religiously minded nurses harassing her abt it not being a 'legitimate' baby. personally, as a humanist, i dont believe any life is 'illegitimate'. life is like all the rest of mother nature....it should be respected)

but, anyway, home birth is a great way...:)

  • @mathdude28 yurt dışı olabilir

  • oh, finally the almighty youtube is letting me comment?

  • censored

  • Was an amazing video! Made me cry.

  • Absolutely beautiful. I'm 26 weeks right now, and I'm preparing for a natural birth. This video has definitely made me feel like I can do it. Thank you for posting.

Oh, and of course, I can't forget to say, mom and babe were beautiful.

  • I watched this video before having my baby at home, and the humming did help! I forgot to keep it low pitched, but even still, it helped me feel like i was really doing something to keep centered. Thank you for this great video!

  • Such a wonderful and beautiful act. The greatest thing a woman will ever do. Even becoming president of a country pales compared to this.

  • Thank you for your extremely tasteful video. It is beautiful!

  • This made me cry the whole way through :) We are delivering in a birthing center and I just found out my baby had turn in a matter of hours ago thank god :D I hope we canhave a wonderful experience life this :) Good Job love :D To both of you:D

  • you are a v lucky man

  • His gramps looks like mine

  • Congrats.

  • whats this song called? its not the one posted where it says song;

    CONGRATS!

  • February 3rd is my birthday:)

  • @harrisonchambliss mine aswell! :)

  • Well done Geneva! Doesn't it make a big difference being at home in your own space? It also makes a big difference switching off the lights. Your fabulous midwives were right - staying in the tub over 90 minutes does often slow things down!

Are inflatable birth pools not available in the USA? This is the second birth film I've seen where this hard-edge pool is used. Inflatable pools are a lot more comfy for the mum.

  • thank you sooooo much for sharing!

    i cried!

i wish all you're family health and joy and good time.

    hilla

    the good witch from Israel

  • yall look like the perfect couple! congratulations!!!

  • what a wonderful memory you have of the birth of your son james....well done!!!

  • I love that as women we can all learn from and teach each other that pregnancy and birth is by nature our greatest path to rediscovery and transformation if we only allow it to be.

We are so amazing, and capable of so much more than we allow ourselves believe! Let's open ourselves up to how wonderful the truth can be and start believing in ourselves, trusting our bodies, and do what we do best...Surround our babies in love, during pregancy, during, birth and everyday thereafter.

  • Good job Momma! I had an amazing home birth too. It's so great to be able to share our experiences and that joy with other woman. How did you know you wanted to do it at home?

  • @mynaturalchildbirth It was something that I had never even known was possible - all I knew about childbirth was the model one generally sees in movies and on TV. Then a combination of factors - a friend of mine had a very unpleasant experience in the hospital giving birth to her son, and shortly thereafter I found the blog of a woman who had just had a completely unassisted homebirth. It was eyeopening, and I started learning more, and it just felt right to me. I'm so glad I did it!

  • @marcclawson57 do you have the link that blog? I'd love to check it out!

  • @marcclawson57 whta the sonr and congradulations but hes like 3 now :P

  • @marcclawson57 How did it felt having a child?

  • @mynaturalchildbirth

this is the birth I want! hope I can be as calm and in control! I'm staying at home and already have 3. My other births were all lovely but I lost it in transition a bit and paniked! this time I'm gonna hum too!

  • NICE VIDE HOMEBIRTH

  • this was so cool, and i cant believe she was smiling either!!! i sure wasnt with my boys lol not only that, it helps to have your husband/boyfriend telling you how great of a job you're doing, or how awesome you are. Loved the video guys. Wishing you and baby james (not so baby anymore i guess) a happy life :)

  • Nice vid but what's with the loud music? Tends to ruin the effect.

  • This video is so inspiring! i am planning a natural birth and its so good to see peaceful birth...some of these YouTube videos are frighening! Thanks for restoring my faith that I can do this too!

  • Thank you so much for sharing!

  • what a gorgeous video! well done guys he's beautiful.

Mom! You looked fantastic! great to see someone smile like that x

    was James the first??

  • First off, I adore your shirt! And I know this comment is late, and you don't know me, but congrats and I hope you child has a long happy life!

  • Your wife is so calm! I hope with my second due in a month I can be this happy between contractions! Congrats! SO wonderful!

  • you guys are precious, i love seeing births like this!

  • this was really incredible... congratulations to you & thank you for sharing this with everyone. so empowering and beautiful. i teared up when i saw your wife smiling in between contractions. really inspiring!!!

  • Did she do anything to make the birth so easy for her? I am pregnant, and SO scared about having the baby!

  • @MJsmokingcannibal

This is the mum in the video - I didn't do anything in particular! I found the humming helped, though I'm not sure why. Kept me relaxed. I think a lot of it was just my mental state. I read a lot of positive birth stories, asked a lot of questions, pictured the birth being peaceful and pleasant. I also wanted to say, that I didn't find it to be painful the way injury is. It wasn't the pain of something being wrong. It was the pain of hard work, of exertion. Totally worth it.

  • @marcclawson57

i love u uve helped me get rid of the fear of child birth

  • Amazing video, many congratulations, love the name and your son is gorgeous such a handsome boy.

Very well done to the both of you x

  • Wow, she's so amazing!

I don't think there's anything lovelier to see than a pregnant woman smiling like that. Cheesy, but I'm serious. :)

Great of you to be so relaxed and helpful, too. I'm sure it made it a whole lot easier to have you there like that.

And he's SOOO CUTE! I want him! *grabby hands*

How old is he, now? My maths isn't the best. XD

  • @Strezlecky Thank you! He's nineteen months old now. It flies by.

And ur baby james is soooooooooooooooooooooooo beautiful i bet hes even mor handsome now that hes one

  • If I ever have children I want to have a homebirth just like this. In the living room with a big tub, seems less stressful than being crowded by people in blue suits

  • 0:43 the cat looks so weird

  • Thank you so much for this film. Im due in a few weeks, and really enjoyed seeing your humming technique and movement, relaxation... and calmness. All the books Ive read by midwifes say that relaxation is key! Congratulations again...

  • so inspiring!

Thanks for posting. I am 37 weeks and 2 days and getting geared up - I hope to be as calm as this too.

  • what an amazing labour, geneva you were so grounded and beautiful. Dad what a wonderful support you were! I hope that when my time comes to give birth, my experience will be as profound as yours! Thank you for sharing

  • Aw. It is so sweet that as I father you cared enough to make this and support your wife! Not many men do. And all with a sense of humor along the way. Good for you! And congratulations on the beautiful birth and adorable baby! :)

  • what does humming do?

  • @Marleyites I'm pretty sure it keeps the breath flowing and relaxes you. Harder to tense when you're using your voice, and probably calms you down. I'll find out soon, I guess ^^

  • @Marleyites i've heard that making noise during the labor helps with the pain and helps people stay calm.

and maybe she was just that happy =]

  • what a beautiful display of what i think is the most beautiful moments in a persons life!

  • what is the song at the beginning of this video?

  • Looks like an ideal birthing experience! Geneva is amazing. I know I did not look that good, or handle it that well! I love how Dad is right there with her every step of the way. What a great video.
