  • Couldn't stop the tears flowing by 1:41. Regained my composure towards the end of Amazing Grace... then completely lost it once The Last Post started.

    Rest in peace gents.

  • As Ataturk said: Since ANZAC soldiers died in our country, They are our brothers forever.

    Your Turkish brothers.

    All you, rest in peace.

  • i hate it when they muck up the last post but i guess it must be real hard to get it right.

  • its great that we have so much respect for ANZAC day ,my family lost 3 brave man in Gallipoli and the Western Front ,it also left one family of 10 with no men to run the family farm.

And my family will never forget the loss of those before us.

  • Anzacs and Turks are blood brothers forever

  • I had to be catafalque party for ANZAC day and could barely keep my post, this song was such a moving thing to hear on such a solemn day.... I'm proud to be an Australian and I thank our allies for being such great mates

  • Having served my country for 30 years in our Army, this is a fitting and respectful tribute to all those who serve, served and died for the cause of Freedom. I was blessed by the Lord God with long life (so far) but friends and many comrades died in Viet Nam, the Desert Storm/Desert Shield and OIF/OEF. This, I consider, to be a tribute for any and all service men and women. ALL GAVE SOME, SOME GAVE ALL.

  • May we never forget what they did for my country(Belguim).

I'm from Zonnebeke and i can understand what it must be to losing somewone of your family.

  • As we here in the USA approach our Memorial Day, I thank you from the Bottom of My Heart for such a lovely tribute to those heroes who have fallen and those who have served the cause of freedom around the world.

    God bless you and yours

  • @iambetteriamwhite and can i just add that aussies nz AND turks honour ANZAC day because it is a chance to remember, not celebrate as you think, the young soldiers who were sent to fight and mourn their tragic deaths We remember together because we realise both sides lost lives that day Clearly you have never been to an ANZAC dawn service in gallipoli It is extremely moving to see countries come together no longer enemies to remember the brave fallen men who had no choice but to fight each other

  • @iambetteriamwhite seriously what is your problem? you obviously have no idea what ANZAC day is about. i fail to see how a bunch of young soldiers being gunned down as they ran up the beach at gallipoli on April 25th constitutes a war crime. also australia as a commonwealth country was following orders from the british empire

  • I go every year with a group of yr9 kids to eypres and i peronally lay a poppy on the un marked grave of a digger( a different one each year ),these kid appreciate the sacrifice these brave boys made ,when they see the waste of life for the they are but a few years younger than those lying inTynne Cott cemetry

  • TOYGANYILMAZ - HOW DARE YOU SAY SUCH A HORRIBLE THING ABOUT OUR NATION AND SOLDIER'S ILL MAKE SURE YOU ROT IN HELL FOR LIFE AUSTRALIAN'S DESERVE RESPECT AND A MINUTE OF SILENCE

  • @toyganyilmaz The Australians were sent to Gallipoli to defend the Empire. Why are they there now? Well because thousands of young Aussies were killed by Turkish machine gunners, and their families want to remember and respect those who passed away. I respect the Turkish, but wankers like you who just keep hate going are just the reason everyone was fighting. Show some respect to those young soldiers who died for their country.

  • Let's stop feeding the trolls and just pay a few minutes silence.

  • In remembrance of our allies.

Rest in peace brothers, thanks for being there when the world needed you. You are not forgotten.

    USAF-RET

  • I am a Canadian forces member who just took part in the Anzac day ceremonies, and I was proud to be able to Honor the memories of these brave soldiers.

  • I WONDER HOW THESE SCUM WOULD BE DEALT WITH IF THE NAZIES AND JAPS HAD OF WON

  • I am a proud American Vietnam Vet and I wonder why so many people think of that war as the 'American War'? Many nations fought for the people of Vietnam. I served along side other nation's heroes that were there. The Australians in particular were my favorite. God Bless you all, I'm proud to know you! Lest We Forget!

  • @betthegrays2win It was called the Vietnam Conflict, don't upgrade it to a war to satisfy your blood lust

  • @iambetteriamwhite I know the difference between a conflict and a war. You may call it what you like. It was war. Declared or not, it is regarded these days as a war by most but I don't really care what it is called. Those who were there know what it was. I have no 'blood lust'. I hate war or any other name you have for it. I don't know any soldiers or veterans who loved, liked or lusted for it. My only point was that many countries supported the efforts to help the Vietnamese people.

  • @betthegrays2win Why is it that Americans have no sense of history. America didn't bludgeon Vietnam for the common good of the Vietnamese, they didn't want an election to take place which the north were going to win.

America didn't care of the common good.

  • @betthegrays2win Fraser, Nixon, Peacock and all the other war mongers referred to Vietnam as a conflict, to call it a war would have required to declare one. To call it a war as I said only satisfies the blood lust.

  • @betthegrays2win

I had no idea that other nation were in the Vietnam war. Thank you for the education and may God Bless you and keep you safe

  • @betthegrays2win Thank you i'm Australian and my ancestors fought in the war God Bless Australia, God Defend my second home Canada and Lord

    defend the U.S

  • Let ANZAC day be remembered as the war crime that it was,is and always will be.

Lets celebrate 60 years of peace with the Japanese and Germans

  • @ozzyguy67 What dibble, Australia didn't go into battle to help, the governing war mongers couldn't think of being left out. Imagine you a leader of a nation that to this day will send troops anywhere so that we can have a march and continue the myth of ANZAC day, no one anywhere has any idea of what happened 25/04/1915.

The thing that pissed off John Howard was the lack of body bags, then he lost one.

  • Lets get one thing straight. Yes the ANZAC were invading the Ottoman Empire but inturn the Ottoman Empire had been invading countries for centuries and they were allies of the German Empire as part of the central powers. They attacked Russia and lead an assault on Kut with many allied prisoners dying at the hands of ottoman guards (which would constitute real war crimes). They were part of the central powers trying to take over Europe.

  • @sxs0nar Actually all conflicts were a direct treat to Australia. If the Germans and Ottoman empire had succeeded Europe would have been a very different place in the 1930-40s. Who knows if they would have stopped there or gone on to try and invade countries outside Europe.

The Japanese army would have invaded Australia given the right chance.

The cold war was a direct threat to australia because of our ties with the USA and Pine Gap.

Middle Eastern conflicts are a threat to everyone.

  • @sxs0nar but how can you blame the anzacs for something the government chose to do

  • @sxs0nar sure the japs may or may not have had plans to invade but that's not to say that they wouldn't have given half the chance you seam to forget japan had the biggest army in the world at the time and sure ww1 cold war middle east korea they might not have been direct threats but who's to say it wouldn't have been made into a direct threat it's better going over there and dealing with it then waiting for it to kick ya front door in and put a rifle to ya head sure we didn't have to go there

  • Amazing video. I am saddened that more people don't have the pride to stand behind our war vetrans. Whether or not these conflicts posed a direct threat to Australia is not the issue here. The fact is that many young men died in conflicts overseas to keep Australia & England safe. Australian troops fought overseas to not only defend Australians but to fight in wars that were destroying humanity. Whilst you can argue Australia's participation in wars, today Australia will remember them.

  • wow im just reading through the comments and im ashamed by some of the people leaving disrespectful comments. Its ANZAC day you should respect all the soldiers that have fought and given there life for our great country. "They shall not grow old as we that are left grow old. Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn. At the going down of the sun and in the morning. We will remember them. LEST WE FORGET.

  • @ASSIEBLOKE Once you respect all of the fallen, Australians, Americans, English, Germans, Japanese, Russians, North and South Koreans and Vietnamese and all of the civilians that were killed, maybe then we can understand ANZAC day.

  • @iambetteriamwhite I dont think u understand what ANZAC day is. ANZAC stands for Australian and New Zealnd Army Corps, we come to pay our respects to these fallen heroes of ww1. Most countries have a time of the year where soldiers and civillians come together to remember the people that gave there life for there country and yesterday was ANZAC day the day Australians and New Zealanders come together to honour the fall ANZAC heroes.

  • @ASSIEBLOKE Oh dear, most countries don't have a national day of war. Only Australia wallows in it's own blood lust for war. Most countries remember Armistice day , a day when the arms were laid down. Australia with it's war mongering attitude can only celebrate a war crime which it committed. ANZAC day has nothing to do with heroes. Heroes don't commit war crimes as the ANZACS did.

  • @iambetteriamwhite ..........well you have showen us all that u have no respect for the ANZAC's or this country. Let me ask you this where did u get this idea that Australia has a blood lust for war and a war mongering attitude because I find this funny considering we are a defence force and I would like to read up on you're so call ANZAC's......... war crimes plz send a link from where you got this information

  • Haven’t eaten or slept properly in days. Praying for a quick and painless death, because praying to live is waste of time. Many consider this day to be the birth of our national identity, myself included. PLEASE think of this before you write your disrespectful comments. It doesn’t matter if you think they didn’t save our way of life. These men fought and died for what they believe in, that should always be remembered. LEST WE FORGET.

  • What is wrong with you people!!! ANZAC Day is a time to reflect on what they did. We can not imagine what they went through. The idiots with the negative comments would not have the balls to say this in public. You would get your head caved in, and you know it. So why say this crap sitting behind a monitor. Think about it... you’re in a trench next to dead mates, ready to go over the top and run into enemy fire, knowing your chance of survival in next to zero. You have trench foot, dysentery,

  • @calcar16 Oh haven't we read the script

  • @iambetteriamwhite Whats your point? Its all fact. And what war crimes did they commit?

    You can't be Australian.

  • Keep hold of our traditions and faiths, lest we forget - then some other replace it with their own!!!!!!!!!

  • @sxs0nar Oh never has a truer word been said.

  • amazing version

  • @ozzyguy67Only speak when you are spoken to, now there is a good boy and be silent

  • lest we forget!

  • Lest we forget.

  • Lest we forget.

  • A soldier offers his country a blank check... ANZAC day is about remembering the fallen and the ones in service, if u got anythink negative to say keep it to urself coz this video is about honourin the ANZACs. If you got somethink to say about soldiers comment on ur own countries army.

  • Lest We Forget..

  • Thank you for this very fitting tribute, we will keep these young brave men alive in our memories. If not for them our world would be a very different place today. The now reaches back to the past and thanks them for their ultimate sacrifices.

We remember them not to glorify war but, for the ideals and the way of life that they bravely fought for. Lest we forget.

  • Thankyou ANZACS.

  • Thank You.

  • Comment removed

  • I served beside you. You always hold a place in my heart. My blood is your blood. Without you I wouldn't be here! I thank you for my life. I will never forget.

  • With out trying to be offensive to some of you who have lost family,This post isnt about you! This post is about the men and women who gave their lives for us all... If your family member promised they would return but never..thats unfortunate.

I`m sure they didnt intend on dieing when they made that promise.

So can we just pay our respects here without the self pitty?

  • "They shall not grow old, as we that are left grow old:

    Age shall not weary them, Nor the years contemn;

At the going down of the sun, and in the morning...

    We Shall Remember Them."

All those who fought bravely and who gave their all so that we could have freedom and peace, will be honoured and are not forgotten.

Thank you for sharing this clip and part of your families story with us.

  • An extremely moving clip. I was looking for an Anzac Day tribute clip to post a link to on my Facebook page for Monday and I can't go past this. With may Scottish, English, Aussie and Kiwi friends (not mention the Canadians and Americans) it will be greatly appreciated and watched with great emotion. Thank you for making it.

  • is it just me or is it impossible not to cry??

  • Excellent

  • As we approach ANZAC Day 2011, let us all reflect on what we have gained, by these brave soldiers who gave all to keep us free to do what we are doing today!

    LEST WE FORGET

  • WTF!!!!!!!!! who would dislike this. im feel like crying. you 10 people have know idear what it would be like. imagine you family dieing around you. thats what it would feel like. and you dislike a tribute to the fallen.

  • makes me proud to be a piper

  • Hello ANZACS, you had your order to conquer Turkey, my Grandfathers had the order to save our country. What happend, happend! You have my deepest respect! From a good Turk!

  • @WizzzardOezil The Turks were an honourable enemy who fought with courage in defence of their homeland, something that Australians can understand and respect. I'm proud that our nations are now friends. Lest we remember them also.

  • Lest We Forget

  • My grandparents were also of the old breed. Amazing people. Never complained about what they did or asked for respect. You may be a world away but I mourn with you and honor all soldiers and Marines.

  • Never before in the history of human conflict, has so much been owed... by so many... to so few.

    Churchill.

  • Awesome tribute to the brave and heroic.

  • Thank you for taking the time for this production. It was incredibly touching and some of the best piping I have heard. The ten people who disliked this video should listen again, and think for a moment what their lives would be like if it were not for those brave men and women who gave the ultimate sacrifice.

  • bagpipes makes me proud to have scottish in me

  • to then ten ppl who disliked this i doubt you have any idea of wot it takes to do wot these men have done for us to give wot they have given for us to see wot they have seen for us

god bless them all from the boer war to afghanistan u will not be forgotten

  • @TheGiantsandwich - Thank You :)

  • @TheGiantsandwich

Well said. The10 sad morons that haven't any respect or gratitude. As I write this 227 v 10 ~ Enough said! "We WILL Remember Them!"

  • @TheGiantsandwich This sickening obsession that Australia has with war is laughable. The celebration of the failed invasion of Turkey being some kind of a pillar that a nation is built on is for the simple minded and don't forget, ANZAC day is a celebration of a war crime conducted by war criminals.

  • @iambetteriamwhite You clearly have no idea what ANZAC day is about or you would not be talking such shit.

  • @spanked1999 War crimes are war crimes

  • @iambetteriamwhite Is that all you can say. Get a life! Fighting in a war and war crimes are at different ends of the scale. Maybe you should look up what constitutes a war crime before running you mouth of spewing bullshit.

  • War crimes are war crimes

  • @iambetteriamwhite THINK YA SELF LUCKY TO EVEN POST THAT YA DOG THESE MEN AND WOMEN DIED SO YOU COULD LIVE YA MUNGROL

  • @dabeast5816 Dear dabeast, I think you will find the spelling is mongrel, you have been worshiping war criminals for far too long.

  • @iambetteriamwhite well judging by the name MATE you'd rather side with the nazi's then the anzacs

  • @dabeast5816 The Nazis and the ANZAC's never forght each other, history isn't one of your strong points either. I will give you one thing, they are both war criminals.

  • @iambetteriamwhite idiot we fought the nazis in north africa and their was aussie troops in france from D-Day onward fighting the nazis and fought isnt spelt with an R in it

  • @TheGiantsandwich well actually it is there not their, if you want to be the spelling police.

  • @TheGiantsandwich You're right there is no r in fought but you history dear sandwich is appalling. The word ANZAC originated from the failed invasion of Turkey in 1915 and there it remained. So you must deduce that the Nazis and the ANZAC's could not and have not fought in combat .

  • @iambetteriamwhite if your comment were true there wouldnt be korean or vietnam vets marching in the parade your logic is faulty as well as unpopular have fun trying to show everyone how smart you are and being proven wrong about it :)

  • Comment removed

  • My, you are ignorant of history. Australian troops fought the Germans in Greece, Syria, Egypt, Libya, on Crete. Further, the RAF bombers over Germany had a high proportion of Australians in their flight crews. The 2nd New Zealand division fought in Greece, on Crete, in Egypt, in Libya, and Italy. Australians died defending Malaya, Singapore, Sumatra, Java, Timor, and New Guinea. They were the first to defeat a Japanese land force. They died alongside US forces.

  • @wuf0170 Dear wufi, the discussion was did the ANZACs and the Nazis take the battle field against each other? The answer is no. The battles you mention were fought in the second world war. It is also interesting to note that all the battles including you mention, none of them were fought under the Australian flag, all were fought under the red ensign.

  • @iambetteriamwhite In fact ANZACs did fight Nazi Germany during WW2. During the Greece campaign the Australian 1 Corps had New Zealand troops attached. On the 12th April 1941 the Corps was officially renamed the ANZAC corps. These was also an ANZAC battalion during the Vietnam War as well as an ANZAC battle group in East Timor. You should study your history better before commenting.

  • @1900mariner Selective choice of history. The ANZAC were disbanded in 1916. The 1915 version of the did not fight the NAZIS nor did they fight Germans they fought Turks . The 1941 version was as you correctly say was corps renamed. Still 1915 is still a war crime

  • @TheGiantsandwich We would know life as we now know it if it were not for these men. God Bless their precious souls. Lest We Forget.

  • God Bless all you Ozzy boys

  • me eyes are laden wi tears....

  • Great Video!

  • I went to belgium last year I found a grave of a man who was in my great grandads battalion I could feel tears running down my face and a lump in the back of my throat as I read the message his family had engraved and the rising sun on his grave.

R.I.P to all Aussies Kiwis Brits Canadians Yanks

  • Those heroes that shed their blood and lost their lives…

You are now living in the soil of a friendly country. Therefore rest in peace. There is no difference between the Johnnies and the Mehmets to us where they lie side by side here in this country of ours…

You, the mothers, who sent their sons from faraway countries wipe away your tears; your sons are now lying in our bosom and are in peace, after having lost their lives on this land they have become our sons as well."

  • @coskun1981 What a load of war mongering bull shit

  • I attend every anzac dawn parade because if it wasnt for the Anzacs, we wouldn't be living in a free country.

In rememberance for my Great Grandfather LT kealy, ww1 & ww2

Grandfather land corporal Kealy ww2 who fought along side his father for australia and Ireland

my poppa Seargant Tame Karena of the 28th maori battalion and his brother mohi who died over in galipolli in action.

    I salute you.

  • they both give you goosebumps them songs.. :(

  • My hat is off to the brave Anzacs of the Great War and World War II. And to the Diggers I had the privlidge to serve next to in Iraq. From a Yank GI... Thank you, and you will always be rememberd

  • to all the aussies and the kiwis who bravely defend their country on the last line of defence againts the japs.... i salute you.... (a moment of silent)

  • I think we Brits should keep our poppies and wear them again on ANZAC Day as a mark of respect and appreciation, I think the Aussies and Kiwis wear their poppies on ANZAC Day - 25th April

  • @Whitbywatcher God bless the diggers

  • God bless the diggers

  • @Whitbywatcher yeah my great grandad was an ANZAC and I live in the UK at the moment and I normally wear a poppy on ANZAC day

  • This is a great tribute! Very fitting for all ANZACs!

  • Very nice tribute!:))

  • Thankyou...A fitting tribute to your Grandfather and all that have served...

  • For those from the ANZAC nations that fought and died, those that remember, and those that think we have forgotten: we have not, nor shall we. They shall not grow old, as we that are left grow old. Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn. At the dawning of the day, and the going down of the sun, we WILL remember them. Thank you from GB.

  • great tribute all around the world should acknoledge all the people who gave their lives for their countries over any war peace be with them and let them always be in our hearts and never forget them and koalsa69 great vid i had the pleasure to serve with an aussie officer when i was with the royal artillery an he was the best bloke ive ever served under even if it was for such a short time.

  • Australia and New Zealand might have fought Turkey in WW1, but now Turkey does a great job despite the many problems looking after ANZAC Cove and the related battlefields, and the thousands of NZ and Australian war dead there. Because of that, we share a unique bond with a former foe that not many nations are able to do.

New Zealanders and Australians who have made the pilgrimage to Gallipoli and our Turkish hosts will understand this particularly well.

  • To all Australian and New Zealand servicemen and women, of all colours and classes who fought and died so far from home for our freedom, the UK will never forget your sacrifice and will be eternally grateful. Today we wear our poppies proudly and hold our heads in silence to remember ordinary people asked to do extraordinary things in the name of liberty. Lest we forget.

  • im lost for words

  • great video, and many thanks to your garndfather and many like him who have given us the freedom that we have today.

to all our service men and women all over the world, come home safe is all we ask.

  • This video made me cry for al least an hour. My Grandad wasn't a WWI vet, but he served in WWII in New Guinea. Cecil Edwin Cloherty, you were a bloody legend, life ending in 1997. I'll never forget you. RIP

  • Turkey should be as proud as us ANZACS for all sides fought with honor and respect. It is my belief what Churchill asked of us was wrong and ill advised and I am as proud of the Turks for how they fought us and when we hurt most Mustafa Ataturks words helped heal those wounds

  • R I P FOREVER TO ALLTHOSE WHO DIED And to all those that lost famliy out in ww1 and 2 i am sorry i lost my great great uncle in ww1

  • Wow. Just discovered this. Hearing this, and seeing this, makes me want to cry. It brings back those memories of loved ones. Especially hearing The Last Post, which they played at my grandfathers funeral. Tough.

You've done a brilliant job - Thank you.

  • This has been a video long since (2-odd years now) saved to my favourites, and i think its time to comment.

This is a really lovely memorial video- many thanks for your tribute Koala. I truly hope that the "modern era" of humanity never forgets where war has lead us in the past.

The Last Post for me is the Ultimate act of memorial for all those men and women who died - WHATEVER THEIR NATIONALITY.

Here's hoping humanity eventually learns from its past.

    Chem,

    N.I.

  • peace

  • I have lost one grandfather, ten great uncles and two great aunties, they all served, god bless

  • at the going down of the sun and in the morning we will remember them

  • on the day of the rising sun we will not forget them

  • Rest in peace all of you. The Anzacs were brave and heroic fighters. Our brothers in arms to this day.

  • beautiful :)

  • 70 years since the Blitz and the beginning of five odd years of destruction in Europe, Asia, and the Pacific. So many young men on both sides gave their all for God and Country. Hopefully it was not in vain.

  • we owe you blokes a lot ,brave diggers

  • 9 people are going to hell! Mercy shall not be given to them

  • My great grand father was a Sargent in the war. lost him, and he promised he would be back! *cries* i always said to myself when i was young, and i would cry when i said it, i said he promised... over and over again :'(

  • To my Uncle Fred. Pilot Lancaster in 1944. Party last night to join her flying friends. I will never forget.

    Thank you Koalsa...

  • ANZAC Day is the best and the worst day of the year for me. My Grandfather went to war, he saw his brother die, but Poppy Jack survived, and became the head of my family. His efforts played a part in shaping our country. Poppy Jack passed away before his time in 2008. I was supposed to march in my Pops place last ANCAC day, but as proud of Pop as I am, simply pinning on his medals made me a blubbering mess. They represented a weight I couldn't bare.

  • great tribute,well done.

  • an old school friend was kill in Afghanista and we play this song, it bring back memories of him.

God bless the soldiers for their safety

  • top notch lads ill always remember why i served in the forces so many friends around the world not 1 i will forget . Always sends shivers down my back respect

    Ian Army Sniper

who ever disrespects Koalsa69 get a life and think to your self why you are here you piece of crap

  • This is a magnificent tribute to all servicepeople who gave their lives in war- especially the approximately 7,000 Australian servicemen who died in the Flanders area and who have no known grave.

  • bloody legend thank you .

  • das ist das beste was ich je gehört habe

  • Im playing this in tribute for New Zealands first soldier killed in Afghanistan, he alongside thousands of others, Have died for freedom and liberty. LEST WE FORGET

  • i know this guy who was in WW2 and was a medic. he landed at the beches of normady and was in malta and sicily. He wrote a biograpy and part of it is in khaki angels. read i little bit and he saw some horrid thing in that war.

  • "Those heroes that shed their blood and lost their lives…
