  • Been told to check this out- the trailer tells me otherwise :/ will add to my rental list by all means.

  • good film :)

  • @evanb0869 that was definitely a redundant statement. Good job

  • Wendigos were evil spirits that possessed cannibals, not warriors of mother nature.

At least get the facts straight.

  • Kinda prjudice, but this my cuz's band and i think they are great!!

  • @41Fllady You mean biased

  • the thing 1982

  • Why can't people appreciate at least some respect to horror movies these days?

Yeah just about everything has been done before but give them some credit, their trying. You know not all horror movies are about nudity and dumb people. They do that cuz everyone expects them to...If they were smart then the people watching would feel stupid as hell. Like the scyfy original movies, I know their cheesy and suck, but atleast their trying new ideas, they just didnt have time to get their true potential

  • Movie sucked. Period. Ron pearlman is a homo shyte actor. Gay ass ghost Deer was gay

  • Funniest movie

  • what the fuck with the ending? i saw it yesterday an i was like wtf?!?

the film itself was very good although the cgi animation sucks soo bad but the finale is so messed up

  • Although this movie has some boring parts, it does have horror factor in it. It's spooky for me! I'm a horror fan, and I actually like this movie. I just need clarification on what happened at the end; it's one of those types that makes you think. For me, this movie is unique and original.

  • Scary as Hell....

  • Great movie.

  • well the movie is really good i really was starting to like it but .what the is happened to a gud ending thats the part that i dont like at all what happened where was she,how did she get in the hospital.

  • Excellent movie. Love how now famous people like to give back by doing independent movies without getting paid much. They supoort the independents because they know they dont have the money for computer graphics and have to rely on a really good story line and good acting to carry the movie. Good psychological thriller with enough blood and guts at the end to satisfy anyone. Relevent subject. Dont want to live long enought to see the results of our infestation of the planet.

  • i was really disappointed with this movie... :P it wasn't awful, but it wasn't very well put together. it started off pretty well actually, but by the plane crash scene i kinda checked out. i really appreciate psychological horror and usually love these kinds of movies but this one didn't fit into that category very well

  • good movie it has its place among others reminds me of the THING the isolation nowhere to go ron pearl man awsome

  • who can i find this awesome song?? help!

  • much much better than that boring 30 Days of Night. I had to shut if off after an hour it was so boring. But this is so much more well acted and scripted. I was really impressed by the shear beauty of this film. It's also highly eerie.

  • can anyone explain to me the ending>? I don't quite get it?

  • pretty good, intense movie. :)

  • wa better than the happening

  • i thought it was a great movie.. the million year old moose/beast was kinda cool. expecially liked the ending,.. it wasn't just happening at their camp, but world wide! lol.. though, the plot was easy to guess throughout the movie.. but overall was a good late night FREEBEE!..

  • Good film, which I very much enjoyed. Ron Perlman is fantastic in the movie, as is the supporting cast. Also, you don't have to agree with the underlying message to enjoy the film. You do, however, have to have an imagination and enjoy suspense.

  • I have seen it yesterday, WHAT A SHITY STORY...

  • is the monster a moose?

  • @LittleRedCyclingHood It's a Mother nature Earth Deer spirit. thats what the Native americans call it

  • @Jaynit i had a dream of that spirit.it tried to run me down,it had moose horns, but wasnt a moose.a week later i was walking to my daughters house in the dark,-40 below,i got the distint feeling it was comming, and i felt it do rushing pass me.i was so scard,i was thanking god to keep me safe til i got to my daughters. when i saw this movie it gave me chills. id appreaciate any coments.im in alsaka

  • Oh my god i hate this movie, yes because of the trailer i was expecting more, but it leaves you board, cold, and just waiting for it to be over. I totally understood the subtext behind all of it but it could've been done so much better. IT WAS LAME. HORRIBLE HORRIABLE MOVIE.... i guess next time i wanna freeze my ass of by just watching a movie i'll watch 30 days of night. atleast it won't put me to sleep.

  • @oreogirl19842002

this movie sucks beyond belief, don't waste your time... No really 98 minutes I will never get back...

  • Loved this film overall. Didn't care much for the political message, however.

  • James Le Gros looks in this trailer like the next F1 champion. Am i right or is it just me.

  • la rente la semana pasada.... y casi me golpea mi mujer por hacerla ver semejante porquería de película.... es la mas piojosa pelicula...sin efectos ...sin triller.... una verdadera porquería de movi....

  • @tango76763 es que eres un pendejo.

  • Very good movie - important message that might be bit diluted for people that expect another streamline horror movie.

It have strong ties with a North American indigenous folklore and the myth of Wendigo spirits....

Definitelly need some insight and a bit of brain from the audience to get the message.......

  • It wasnt a good movie at all...

Good actors, good photography, maybe good theme, but is not well done, bad effects, where is the thriller? does not scare

Soooo Boring!! watse of time and money (if you payed for it).

  • @Ribieru You noob. Its suppose to make you think, not make you freak out. OPnly noobs watch movies such as Friday the Thirteenth for some useless noobish scenes. Go hpme and sleep.

  • @TalesIncs

    -_-OK

  • @TalesIncs Still a waste of movie... noob haha

  • the problem wit this movie is that it really just doesnt tie all the occurances throughout the movie together. Its just up in the air as to what happened to each an everyone. The concept wasn't bad i guess "nature fighting back" but imo wasnt a great movie. It was like not one single thing taking people out but a bunch of different unexplained things. You are just left with many questions or theories UNANSWERED.

  • Excellent movie, made perfect sense. It's not for people with AD/HD, but for people who enjoy slowly building tension. !!!!SPOILER!!!!!: Some people don't seem grasp that some of the things seen in the movie were hallucinations, not real!!!!

  • im not so sure that it was all hallucination. I mean, like the tape they all saw, and the foot prints surrounding the one guys hut that he found after, what he thought was the quick wind gusts.

  • i watched this it was a really bad moviee

  • this was the stupidest movie ever. made no sense

  • "What if the very thing we're trying to draw out of the earth rose up and faced us? What would that look like?" (Not quite a direct quote from the film, but close enough.)

This movie's not much more complicated than that. A 100-minute Twilight Zone episode in which a minor character dies of a nosebleed. The last sixty seconds are better than all of The Happening, which is not, I admit, very difficult to accomplish.

  • Terrbile movie, watched it last night None of it made sense either, also teribble ending

  • This is a great movie regardless of what people are saying about it. it has an important message that souldnt be overlooked, even if it is a bit dramaticized.

  • too be honest the movie is kinda boring.. not bad tho.. just a lil bit weird and in the end it makes u think lol.. not worth buying it in my opinion but rent it!

  • just saw it its a alright movie kinda boring somthimes and leaving you with qeustions at the end but its diffrent and has a good message if you like creepy movies you will probobly enjoy this i would give it a 6.5 out of 10.

  • Pay no attnetion to Al Gore below, this movie is more about Wendigo monsters attacking people with global warming in the distant background. Decent film for what it was

  • He said that the movie just mentioned it- which it did, the piece of ice falling along with the "world changing" line are obviously a nod to climate change.

If I understand the movie correclty, the wendigos were attacking people because of the climate change and drilling. at least i think that is what was going on.

I thought the movie was pretty good. Not great, but good. I look forward to watching it again, and if another movie similar to this was made then I would definitley watch it.

  • Any Movie that mentions 'CLIMATE CHANGE' gets a thumbs up! Deforestation: The hidden cause of global warming. In the next 24 hrs, deforestation will release as much CO2 into the atmosphere as 8 million people flying from London to New York. Stopping loggers is the fastest, cheapest solution 2climate change. Forests home 2 1.6 billion of world's poorest rely on them 4 subsistence. TREES protect the earth & they do it 4 free!

  • aren't their large structures that we've made to help reduce the CO2 levels in our atmospheres?

  • Not everything has to be fucking blood and guts, if you can't appreciate psychological horror, then your not good enough to a fan of horror.

  • @bud389 psycho horrors are best,im not fan of monsters or serial killers. i like this kind of horror.sry for english :=)

  • @whitedragon257 Movies like Hills have eyes is so stupid. Why would anyone watch it? Are you like a retard or wad?

  • ron pirlman in my god

  • may not have had a good plot to some people's standards, but i quite liked the film. not to mention i have a deep respect for Ron Perlman, since he narrated all the Fallout games and voiced Clayface in Batman: The Animated Series.

  • This movie was a waste of time. I experienced the Arctic in a remote camp like this one. I could have come up with something better that ghost carribou making retards go insane. How about robot polar bears or even better being stuck out there nobody but Owl Gore.

  • reminds me of that sfiles episode...

  • It was pretty good considering most horror films these days, and the low budget.

  • phantom man-eating caribou will cause the end of the world. lmao.

  • ok i just watched the movie and im pretty sure that " monster" is just a giant man eating ghost caribou, then it has little babies and they eat the person.

  • LOL hmmmm this is not true cause ive been researching what kind of gas could make humans mad or insane its a kind of gas that usually found on the oil and when exposed you;ll get insane just like youve consume drugs or overdose of medicine> i hate this movie every oil miner get killed cause they are exposed but not the girl well the director of this movie makes no sense like including the :27 thats a pretty bad idea bad movie bad plot and bad ending cause it says the alaska is melting.

  • utter shit. the ending was the worse of any i think ive ever seen, complete shit.

  • just saw this shit.

    i can picture the pitch.

Director =there are ghosts in the ice & their leaking out. And also its a gas that turn people to madness. And also its monsters that can only be seen at night & it has horns & wings.

Producer =WTF? you said it was ghosts at the start!

Director = yes ghosts & gas & it has wings & stuff.

    Producer = ...

Director = Oh! it will have HellBoy in it

Producer = HELLBOY! i love that guy. Wen can u start filming

    Director = Cha Ching!

  • i doubt it got that far, i think a team of complete divs made it. blair and brown must have had somthing to do with it, it was that much of a fuck up.

  • This was the shittiest movie i've ever seen. what i hated most was the very ending... what the hell was that woman staring at on the street?!? there's no explanation whatsoever. if you're going to make a movie, make sure it makes sense.

  • ya it definitely wasn't very good plot wise, and it wasn't good concept wise.

Despite this I enjoyed the film, I think that the atmosphere and acting gave it brownie points.

  • i actually liked this movie it wasnt really my type cuz i love gory movies but i thought it was a good movie. it was very creepy

  • bleghsd japanese horrors french horror and italian

  • the atmosphere of the film was excellent, I didn't like the plot or the acting, I loved the way it was presented though. If they would have invested in using this style of film with a better plot and acting that would be great.

  • this movie is stephen king in true film form. it was a great movie on a very human level. i loved it. and say what you will about the monster, it fit the idea perfectly and was very original.

  • Hey i ate lunch with the lunch Lady person in this movie, her name is Joanne Shenandoah, very good singer!

  • that was very random

  • the movie is great, just that, you have to understand what is about, not scary shit, or gore, stuff like that...it's about life & nature...Hoffman (the main actor) was right...nature is a living thing, just like us, she is protecting herself against us, like we do with other enemies...like, when it rains, or is cold as hell outside, twisters and other things...nature fights back, like we do with viruses...that was his theory...you should see this one, it has a great subject...

  • Nice ViDeo it was better in the begginging

  • More Hellboy/Ron Perlman stuff please...

    :-)

  • this movie looks weird....and was that a dragon in the trailer?? I think i'll just stick with japanese horrors

  • Go back to 4chan please

  • this movie disturbed me

  • wow by the looks of the trailer it looks very LAME. Whew... i almost bought it at blockbuster.

  • fucking boring shit

what fucking ghost raindeers kill people? fucking stupid movie

  • i will watch this on halloween

  • i love this movie. but the trailer reveals far too much.

  • one simple thing : DO NOT WASTE TIME OF YOUR LIFE ON THE PLANET WATCHING THIS FILM.

  • I loved it.

  • @dnlxl agree.. it sucked big time =(

  • i thought this was going to be a really stupid movie, but i actually liked it a lot. it was believable, and fairly disturbing... i reccomend it. 7/10.

  • I dont understand, I just watched the movie, why did the girl wake up in a holpital at the end and walk outside and it ended, i dont understand what happened.

  • early in the movie someone said "what if this is happening everywhere?"

She got rescued and woke up in a hospital.

The evil that came out of the earth spread everywhere.

  • i assume that whatever disturbed their drilling plans, went further to bring the balance by..... punishing mankind...... sort of "The Happening" thing

  • The film had more to do with atmospheric anomalies caused by the melting of natural minerals in the polar ice caps (something that has been frozen for thousands of years until now), causing hallucinations, mental breakdowns, etc. That would explain why some of the crew were acting out strangely or violently.

The film simply conveys: We are a virus on this planet and as we all know, life imitates itself. If your body fights off a virus, why wouldn't the planet fight us?

  • is this like "remake" of The Thing? Looks like a good movie.. have to watch..

  • No!! don't watch!! this was the stupidest movie of the decade.

The premise is, 'the earth' itself, is haunting the evil white man for drilling for oil.

It's a modern day flop like the thin red line.

  • What was stupid about it? You could at least post something tangible or back up your review with a worthwhile response.

  • the movie wasnt completely horrible, i just watched it last night, the one kid who was sexie :P, had no point in being nude, but his ass was hot :P but i really dont get why he had to be nude for the scene...idc :P

  • I'm easily scared, and this movie was so horrifying that it put me to sleep.

Not worth the time I spent in front of the television.

  • I saw this movie last night, it was good and pretty scary. I enjoyed it for the most part, the director did a good job of setting a really eerie mood. The only thing that was bad was the ending, they didn't explain very much what was going on and it makes me think the screenwriter couldn't come up with a good ending, so he just left it up to us. If they fixed the ending it could've been a great movie.

  • The director had planned on the edndind being the women carried away by the wendigo. But he thought that was too much, so he chose a more subtle ending. I'm pretty sure you can hear stampeding if you listen close enough at the very end. So does that mean the Wendigo destroyed everything??

  • Is the wendigo that deer looking thing? I thought there was more than one of them. Anyway I still would've liked a little more info.

  • Oh, dear. O_O I love Ron Perlman, but this is too skeery for li'l ole meeeeeeeee... O_O

  • The ending itself was good for me... just those deer/phantom things that I presume to be 'Wendigos' because of the director's obsession with that myth almost ruined it... but the film had a nice, very slow pace I enjoyed, so it wasn't that bad for me... just average.

  • this movie is a shit with a stupid ending and a retarded ghost-deers thats all.

  • GAYEST MOVIE EVER MADE

  • Where d I know that big actors voice from?!?!?

  • hell boy

  • This movie had potential, but the dragging from the beginning for 45min with no plot what so ever, KILLED IT! I was bored to dead for teh first 45min.

and teh Ending..OMG SUCK ASS BIG TIME!!

Honestly, if u try to want it, even 20min, u will walk away, its bored as hell.

  • i thought it was a really good movie, i myself am a independent film maker, i loved the plot and the actors, ron pearlman is a really good actor.

  • download from filenest..com

  • ATTACK OF THE UNDEAD DEER!!! OH NO!!! SO EVIL!!!! (someone get santa, his deer are on the loose!!!)

  • the killer is a dear?

  • It's story is based on the mythology of the wendigo. It's mentioned in the movie several times...i don't know if its a deer.

  • Just watched this movie last night. We thought it was okay. Not really scary except for a couple of spots. Just real eerie. The ending was strange and the dragon/moose/whatever they were didn't make that much sense. I'd give it 2 out of 5 stars.

  • this movie was so gay, what the fuck was up with the ending? and what the hell period! I mean, none of it is understandable what so ever. There really is no point to the whole damn thing. I mean what the hell? It just got stupider and stupider the whole movie. do not buy and do not rent this crap

  • a ripoff of Carpenter's 'The Thing'

  • 30 days of night was filmed in the snow lol

  • Okay, I'm no Director, but I sure know how this movie could have been made better:

    1. Change the Ending

    2. What kind of horror film is made during the winter.. in the snow.. it would have been a whole lot scarier if it wasn't in the snow

    3. Hire better actors

    4. Less Romance

Yea, well, that's my advice for this horrible movie... Said it was the bestmovie of the year.. gimme a break.

  • What kind of horror film is made during the winter in the snow? Let me think...The Thing?

  • This movie looked awesome, and had potential. It was ruined. This was a completely shitty movie I saw. Not worth your time.

Watch the first hour, use your imagination for the ending, and it'll be better off in your head.

    Worst ending ever.

  • Open your eyes! Do you see that this film is another deplorable horror flick?

  • watever

  • Awsome movie! Love Ron Perlman!

  • the film is great

  • i just rented this movie today and i have to say it was the dumbest shit i have ever seen, i'd be surprised if any one thought it was good...

  • this was a decent movie not great not bad

  • this movie fuckin sucked and was hard to understand

were those ghost things real? were they fucking dragon-mooses?

    idk

  • This film had potential, but it couldn't pull it together. Bummer, cause director Larry Fessenden is a talented filmmaker. Cool concept, but poorly executed :(

  • looks great!

  • i saw the movie a few minutes ago....it think the atmosphere was very creepy but the final was a bit strange...and i didnt understand the end....and what happened to maxwells dead body...?

  • what happens at the end of the movoe

  • Lol @ people not believing in global warming.

Actually even if you're a non-believer, the movie is still fucking good (although the cgi ruins it a bit).

  • This Propaganda film should set some sales records.

Like fastest ever to get to the Walmart $4.99 sale bin.

  • This movie - like most "Pro" global warming movie/docs - insults our intelligence. If they have to try to scare people into believing in something completely bogus..that is just lame.

  • Uh, all movies are fictional. You're the one insulting our intelligence by suggesting we can't tell that cgi caribous aren't real.

    Idiot.

  • what do you have....a high school education from "no I'm right and 98.7% of the rest of the planet is wrong"? Geez. I guess anything aggitates you..which is typical of environmentalists and pro "The sky is falling" groups. from your statement...I see no signs of intellegence. these movies are to suggest something that is more false than accurate. Gore has MILLIONS invested in Global Warming and if doesn't fly..his money does....right out the window. yeah..trust that guy! NOT.

  • I took a shit in the box when I returned the movie. They couldn't tell the difference.

  • thats funny as fuck LMAO

  • Absolutely horrible movie. Almost as bad as the message it was trying to push across.

  • looks amazing

    reminds me of The Thing

  • movie had one of the creepiest atmospheres ever.

  • if this has to do with all the methane gas seepin out of the permafrost as it defrosts.... its a prety stupid movie... its a straight to rental kinda movie..

  • i think that this was an excellent movie and everyone made a great work... but the story is- strange

  • without "the monsters" and the pseudo-greenpeace message it would be a great movie. otherwise it's just average but it has its good moments.

  • I'have watched this movie yesterday, and It was great. You never know what will happen next at every scene.Nice work for director and cast.

  • About the movie; Meh. Not everyone may like it, for various reasons. But, better to have tried but not reached the mark, than try too hard.

Most films these days are quilty of that these days, and they just end up coming across as bad.

  • this movie sucked.cheap sfx and whats with the monsters thing.they show up about less than 1 minute...i cant see why anyone would like this movie....

  • it could be a great movie with more money and with another director. the basic plot is very good but the work out...pff. i'm really sorry about wasting such a good story

  • is it...dinosaur ghosts???

  • 10/10. If Al Gore had made THE THING with the BLAIR WITCH guys. So refreshing from all the torture porn crap going around (hope you're listening Eli)

  • Truth.

    Roth and his 'social/political commentary'.

    My ass!

Hostel is one of the, hands-down, worst films I've ever seen. It's just... stupid. Plan 9 was honestly more entertaining. And I'm not even going to talk about Cabin Fever. Words can't describe.

    Oh, wait... Pancakes!!

  • I saw it but was not that impressed. They were unable to keep the tension going like John Carpenter did in "The Thing". The ending doesn't give much explanation.

  • I've never heard ov this film until i read a review ov it in RueMorgue.

So like, is this thing coming to theatres, is it [supposedly] out on DVD, what?

  • Don't get fooled by the fast edition on this trailer, this movie is scary in a very classy way. Absolutely nothing to do with stupid horror movies done by the bunch these days, it's relentlessly spooky, very nicely shot with some eerie sound effects.

  • I really wanted to enjoy it and there was nothing from making me wantin to hate it but I watched it and I felt kinda cheated. Maybe I was expecting a full blown ghost story but I didnt get spooked once which was a shame. The ending was good though.

  • Matt Saracen and Coach Taylor's wife from Friday Night Lights...yay!

  • is is the thing part 2

  • Looks ordinary. Nothing to do with global warming. A video-hire movie, for sure.

  • heheh, yeah I thought it had something to do with global warming at first, too...

  • when will this be out on dvd and when will it be in theaters here in the US? it's already on dvd in the UK acording to some websites. i gotta see this movie it is great.

  • just bought it on ebay, just waiting for it to come in now

  • How come I can't find this? Straight to DVD but not at Blockbuster?

  • its suppose to be in selected theaters this past wednesday. but its already out on DvD in the uk.

  • Thank you. :)

  • thanks

  • feel like blair witch project plus a little bit of john carpenter's the thing

  • Can't wait to see it.With Ron Perlman...super

  • Doesn't look like a movie about global warming. It looks more like The Thing with a wild mythical monster that has thawed. On the other hand, it does have Ron Pearlman.

  • I loved "the thing", mostly about the apocalyptic setting...this is awesome!

  • Very atmospheric. I hope to see this movie eventually.

  • your a fool
