@luvnotvor The islands themselves are not a crucial asset (maybe there is a lot of oil beneath them, I really don't know), but anyway losing them would be surely perceived as a humilliation, and in 1982 they were on the verge of it. A minor defeat you might think. Perhaps, but devastating in terms of prestige and morale.
Even without oil and having to pay a very costly upkeep they won't relinquish their sovereignty. It's just national pride, and so far they can afford it.

@buchanjay Yes, you're right. But sometimes seems, that some people don't know this was the most important air-sea war since WW2 (i think the only one). As i´ve told before, i admire the bravery of our pilots, but i think that the argentinian planning of this war was disaster, and maybe not convenient for our country. In fact, it could be considered some crazy adventure of the "Junta". I really hope all conflicts in the world could be solved in a peaceful way.

@yakacm Reaction? It's just a small piece of history. Besides, what war we've lost? To lost a war we would had to surrender, Argentina never surrendered the islands to you, only the islands garrison surrendered, peace wasn't declared until the 90's and it was without abandoning the dispute over the islands.
