For modern programming, I've found myself watching the Discovery, History and Science channels. On occasion, AMC and Fox Movie Channel may have something of interest.
The rest is a big bunch of BLAH, so I've hardly been watching anything on broadcast TV save for what's on the aforementioned channels.
And, thank goodness for video cassette and video disc. Buy entire TV series you want and never have to tune in ever again!
For those of you who hate the commercials as much as I do, simply play them all through muted before watching, and you can watch the whole thing commercial free. =)

@celebratecows Not at all, if they approached it any harder, no one would watch it. Viewers become "uncomfortable" when they think something is being ground into them as a serious situation. By this time they didn't know they were going to get canceled in the third season( naturally) and were just trying to keep the show going.
It's kinda weird, not to long ago, people were wowed by the stuff they saw in StarTrek. Stuff we don't even notice anymore because it's commonplace.
Flat Screen monitors = Flat Screen TV, Communicators = Cell Phones, Food replicators . . . .freakin' microwaves man! LOL. I think the only thing we really notice now is how HUGE the computers are. Takes a whole room full of circuitry on this show to do the same job as a blackberry.
The passageway scene starting at 19:00 has some problems. The "prisoners" should be handcuffed - Kirk could have put them on in mock fashion to make their appearance more credible. Look also at the way he points his weapon at the guard at 19:37 (and away from the "prisoners").
Yea, he wears it on the Season 1 episode: "The City on the Edge of Forever", the one where Kirk and Spock go back to New York in the 1930s to find a drug-induced crazy McCoy :P, he uses the hat, like now, to hide his ears lol

This reminds me of 1984 with the telescreen and the shouting of victory and the figurehead.
This is my favorite Star Trek episode precisely because we see Spock without his shirt! :-) I don't go into a coma or seizures, but I do find it exciting!
This is one of my favorite episodes... next to Mirror, Mirror, the horribley hilarious episode " Plato's stepchildren" and the episode when spock falls in love because of the flower's pollen......
I wish that Spock got more episodes about himself and his culture....

One of my personal favorite episodes.
It tells a great story, has a great moral, and the people that made it had the BALLS to do it the way that it was done.
Hardly anyone had the moxie to do anything like this back then and they basically aren't able to really do anything like this today.

@celebratecows Not at all, if they approached it any harder, no one would watch it. Viewers become "uncomfortable" when they think something is being ground into them as a serious situation. By this time they didn't know they were going to get canceled in the third season( naturally) and were just trying to keep the show going.

It's kinda weird, not to long ago, people were wowed by the stuff they saw in StarTrek. Stuff we don't even notice anymore because it's commonplace.
Flat Screen monitors = Flat Screen TV, Communicators = Cell Phones, Food replicators . . . .freakin' microwaves man! LOL. I think the only thing we really notice now is how HUGE the computers are. Takes a whole room full of circuitry on this show to do the same job as a blackberry.

The passageway scene starting at 19:00 has some problems. The "prisoners" should be handcuffed - Kirk could have put them on in mock fashion to make their appearance more credible. Look also at the way he points his weapon at the guard at 19:37 (and away from the "prisoners").

But I saw that there was an episode with nazis in wikipedia, so I checked it out haha.... It's Spock's hat from "The City on the Edge of Forever!" Spock with no shirt! -dies- Bones in uniform! :D I love military uniforms, even the Nazi ones.
Spock was awesome in this episode with his line about excitement and thrill.
This reminds me of 1984 with the telescreen and the shouting of victory and the figurehead.
