I think people just don't get why fighting games players hate hadouken.
Even if its mechanic adds in some ways strategy, it's just an annoying mechanic when it can be spammed at will in a game that is supposed to be all about fighting. The use of hadoken should be limited. It doesn't matter if there are ways to work around it, that's not the issue. To dodge hadoken all the time just isn't an interesting fighting game mechanic, just like juggling. I wanna fight, not play Mario Bros...
akuma was spamming throw throughout the game too, why not talk about that? in the end both players are playing to win. yes, i'm sure a fighting game would be more fun without all the spamming, but these players are at a tournament playing to win. besides, who doesn't have fun when he wins? i find it funny how people are commenting on daigo spamming hadouken but no one mentions akuma spamming grabs.
20 years ago people complained about too many fireballs...fucking assholes are still complaining. Those people are awful at the this game. NO ONE that is good at this game complains about it because they understand its usefulness.
I like how some players complain about others using projectiles. Zoning and spacing is NEVER EVER a good idea. (That last sentence was sarcasm, by the way).
Zoning and creating space is important, but when a fighter throws more projectiles than combos its just plane spam. Diago throws so many hadoukens that a lot of people are going to see it as spam. Eita put out a fraction of the projectiles Diago did and was comboing like a champ.
@AtomicToyRobot I understand that.On the other hand Eita seemed to have had a plan in mind, while Daigo WAS simply using the Hadouken so much that he may as well have been spamming it. Also, a short Hurricane Kick at the right time would easily went straight over the Hadouken, but getting too close would not have been a good idea either. (A la throw attack or bread in butter combos). As Eita summarizes, it is best to utilize combos for when they are the most practical.
@AtomicToyRobot Do you understand that hadoukens build meter? That there's a tactical use.
It's one of the reasons Daigo plays as Ryu. He builds meter so fast that even if his hadoukens are blocked he has full super meter before long to finish round.
If you can't see this strategy then you're a scrub. You're also a scrub if you don't know how to counter them.
The people that have beaten Daigo studied him instead of complaining about him...
@AtomicToyRobot I mean look at 2:10. That round is pure brilliance. He throws only 4 hadoukens this time using them to bait or zone his Eita and not using to build meter.
He reads opponents better than 90% of players out there and gets better the rounds he plays against you.

Thats the point if hes was randomly spamming fireballs you could "shakunetsu gohadou" the hell out of him, but almost every fireball is at a distance where he cant be punished for it, it look like his spamming because the akuma coudnt beat his fireball game and his cr mk. @RKODragon15 zoning, mind games that's ryu's main play style. He's also building meter ,it takes skill i think you should try it and watch how much you get punished for throwing a hadouken at the wrong distance.

@Raffael900me He has hoping to bait out a crouching heavy kick. Diago didn't bite. Eita is a very good Akuma, he knows his links, punishs and combos. He didn't drop a single one, you can see him take rounds from Daigo and even bait out a shoryuken. I personally consider him at least in the top 5 of the best Akumas in the world.
@1stealther i think daigo read that flip. its good not to do so much repetative things with akuma. it can get predictable if not used properly. but at the end of that round, i think that last kck by daigo was luck.
I wish I could play like this I am a Tekken player and I dominate and am very good at it but when trying street fighter I cant get the fighter to do the moves I want him to like the hadoken or the tigger uppercut etc (I play pad). So I haven't been able to get to the intelligent and tricky mind game fighting part of the game that make it so awesome like I do in tekken so I gave up on it. Any tips?
@Callisto70 yeah forget everything about tekken playing it, just because you can do a 12 hit combo doesnt mean you should, sometimes doing a focus attack into ulta is the best course of action.
try to be unpridictable like when you knock someone down move over to them and block at the last second because 90% of people will use a shoryuken when getting up if your close.

I mean even though the announcer clearly pronounces Ryus name very japanese but in the end he does speak english... It is quite strange!
because the game is international , thats why you have the option to choose between eng or jap voices , all capcom games are meant for everyone in the world
konami, capcom, square-enix, Namco, kojima .. are jap companies , but almost 50% of game market is japanese anyways.

Actually that first Ultra attempt was a very common bait used at the highest level. He was baiting a counter sweep by Daigo to Demon it, but Daigo didn't take the bait.
Especially Daigo is famous for his footsies and is very skilled at whiff punishing sweeps. Eita hoped to use that skill to HIS advantage, but it didn't work.
@BromanderShow There are still tournaments for it. Some people prefer it, just like some folks like Hyper Fighting or CE over ST when it comes to SF2.
3:39 Daigo did that combo specifically to put himsellf at a range that would allow him to whiff punish the sweep. He knows the range. He knows the matchup. What a legend.
And @ 5;34 could of been a reflex, because he possibly though akuma would jump forward, and 5:39 akuma did a sweep and he did his special a little too late, a little earlier and he would of hit him.
that shoryuken bait at 5:15 was fuckin nasty. and I'm kinda surprised that worked on Daigo. I'm saying that, of course, because we always expect superhuman play from Daigo.
at 1:50 Akuma/Gouki does a really, really high jump off what appears to be a flip and then spins out. I know how to do the spinning kick through the air but can anyone tell me how he jumped up that high before doing it?

@Timbaland101 not really a reaction at 2:59. Akuma was falling he knew would hit and what he's follow up with 6:22 on the other hand thats a quick reaction. Akuma reacts and kills before before Akuma was in range of the finishing blow.

M Bison= Vega
Akuma= Gouki
in the jap version
and looks like it stayed the same way. US also saved the names so there ll be always diffrences

And @ 5;34 could of been a reflex, because he possibly though akuma would jump forward, and 5:39 akuma did a sweep and he did his special a little too late, a little earlier and he would of hit him.

at 1:50 Akuma/Gouki does a really, really high jump off what appears to be a flip and then spins out. I know how to do the spinning kick through the air but can anyone tell me how he jumped up that high before doing it?

@Timbaland101 not really a reaction at 2:59. Akuma was falling he knew would hit and what he's follow up with 6:22 on the other hand thats a quick reaction. Akuma reacts and kills before before Akuma was in range of the finishing blow.
