I love Men of war, but this seems nice, too. But as a passionate player of World of tanks, i recognized, that the map engine is just the same as in WoT. Anyway, i'm downloading the demo now and lets see how good or bad it really is.

@hyenachase go hull down. Cover w/ camo netting. Hide, shoot, and then scoot. There are a lot of ways to hide a tank, and even more ways to use them in an ambush. Granted, that was a poor ambush with a poor kill zone (too easy to escape) and little coverage of flanks. Also, they left the woods to engage, instead of staying put and using cover and concealment. Finally, they initiated the ambush poorly, and didn't entrap their enemies but rather left cover to engage.

Men of war is still the king.

Although this game has a large battlefield (which is nice), it's simply an arcade compared to MOW which considers ballistics and muzzle velocity of a armor-piercing round to determine whether one particular tank kills another.

Also rounds can ricochet, killing infantry or vehicles nearby, it's possible to penetrate two tanks standing next to one another with very high velocity round. This is what makes a great game!

maybe but the 20mm Flak will never penetrate a King Tiger in MoW, while in Hit points based games like this one all you need is to keep shooting. Hell, in some of those games even infantry can kill a tank with RIFLES if they shoot long enough!

I don't know about realism. Infantry running across an open field like that without smoke would have been cut down by machine gun fire. Also tank battles and AT fire would have been at longer distances.

Play "Men of War". You can play as Japan, UK, Germany, US and the USSR. It's not a tank spamming game, infantry dominate the tanks if they're not used correctly.

@SpaceAgeDiaper If u have read history, u will know that tanks were essential to WWII. And infantry in this game have been made usefull, being able to occupy trenches and buildings, and are also good at clearing tanks. This game is great btw. Got full version :)

I was wondering about a little thing, how the hell could the whole church suddenly explode when the plane hit the tower??? It would have been "ok" if the tower has been destroyed and the plane exploded. But with the whole church exploded? Are the germans hiding tons of explosives in a freakin' church?

Agreed, number of troops onscreen doesn't make the game good or bad. The point is that with Order of War you get the feeling of being a commander of a really huge army and take part in epic battles. That's really great. Not like small MOW skirmishes. In OOW you'll see the real scale of WWII battles.

They are not destroyed by one shot - neither can they be repaired or re-used. When your troops are getting killed one can buy new reinforcements - repairing vehicles is boring...

France and Spain are neighboring countries, their landscapes are very similar in many aspects. Hedgerows are the very special attribute of France? lol. Developers drew the maps according to real existing locations. Honestly, I can't understand what actually confuses u.

The German tactic was to make the allies to fight in the hedgerows.They didn't want to fight in the open cause allied had the advantage in numbers. So the hedgerows were important part of german defensive plans.
