@kthejung Anyone should be able to handle an 1 3/4" line alone, especially with a fog tip. That said, he should have gotten off the steps before really opening that line so the back up guy could get closer and do him some good, and even then he didn't lose the line when he did fall. Great knockdown, though. These guys are real pros.
@FM291 It was Police but when they were told I was riding along with fire they came back and said it was ok to get closer. ( I was following Eng 50 in my car )
Every Department is the best at what they need to do for their specific area. You send a city department into a rural area, their water last 6 minutes and their hoses run limp...you send a rural department into a city, and they are inefficient as hell. I come from a mainly City department, surrounded by rural departments. We all do the job, and we are all damn good at it :) (for the most part, cuz we all see some weird shit happen sometimes).
if any of you have been to philly, you understand when i say a rowhome fire would be scary as hell...it could take out a whole neighborhood if these awesome guys arent there for the rescue
engine 50 D platoon... my co made this job 3rd in engine, plenty of work for all the co,s... on the box. the tip man was the new guy of the co.... he did an awsome job
assuming by your name your from the FDNY I wouldnt expect you to say anything else (dept. pride is a must) but being as im from philly you'll have to forgive me if I dont agree lol. Stay safe brother!
No the EMS told the cop I was riding with PFD he came back and said he was sorry for pushing me back. The video ended when the fire was out, you only miss overhaul.
great nozzle work too.

good knockdown of the fire. back-up man could've done more to help take some pressure of the line for the nozzleman.

Best department in the nation. Organized firefighting - it all started right here in Philly.
Philly also has the most badass looking apparatus.
Hope to join the PFD's ranks someday...Whenever the next exam is.
