  • Another success. Congratulations. I wonder if you could just pour the rendered fat into tin cans with wicks wired in place and put in the fridge and pull up formed candles out of the can with water in the bottom after they've been in the fridge all night. Maybe the same with saved tea light candle tins.

  • @MrJoeyBoombotz Thanks! You can definitely pop the candles out of the tea candle tins because they are smooth on the inside, but they burn up pretty quick that way. I'm not sure about tin cans though, it might be hard to get them out.

  • be careful not to run anything solid like bone or plastic thru that grinder. it breaks the cutting blade and no direct replacement parts are available. I happend on that other hamilton beach model grinder blades do work tho. you just have to find them on ebay at garage sales and the goodwill. awesome piece of equipment that will last forever if cared for.

  • I loved your video. i very much appreciate you uploading it. its the best video on the net on rendering fat. I have one question. i'm planning on making some beef tallow not for the purposes you mentioned in your video but to add a bit to my frying oil. i would like to make some tasty McDonald style fries. is this the same process for edible beef tallow or is that a totally different process. Thank you

  • @trevor6744 It smells a bit gamey when boiling, but not too bad really. It kind of smellled like venison burger cooking.

  • @TarotLadyLissa I've heard beef tallow will work equally well and can be bought at the butcher shop, etc.

  • @MiWilderness Yeah most butchers will sell beef suet for around a buck a pound! Then you render it into tallow!
