  • everyone who is grossed out about this is a fucking prude piece of shit. What the fuck do you think happens when a shark eats a fish. Does the shark cook it and then eat it? No. When a lion eats a gazelle, does it go to a restaurant to have it? No, because thats how nature is, if you dont understand that, dont worry, your average.

  • i really feel sorry for that fish...just imagined myself being deep fried from the waist down..gosh

whoever that girl is, i wanna ask her, whats is so damn funny about eating a half deepfried live fish???!!!

  • Sick man, just sick!!!!

You believe in reincarnation aye? May you be a fish cooked that way next life!!

  • @Elecen

We, Japanese and Chinese have a custom of eating fish that way and we don’t consider it sick. Scientifically fishes don’t have receptor of pain because they don’t have neocortex where such receptor usually exists. Actually when I ate fish chopped alive (it’s a Japanese party dish), it didn’t seem to put through pain at all.

    Thanks a comment, anyway.

I'm not familiar with the the fish physiology nor their brain functions. The fact that we may suspect that it does not feel pain, doesn't make it right! They pull out its guts while it's still alive! Even if you didn't feel pain, how would you feel about it?

I understand traditions, and respect them. For example, in western Europe they boil the frogs alive, whereas worldwide they do the same with lobster and crabs.

I don't mean no offence, but I do really find this to be sick!

In an original version of this video, I’ve read about many westerners’ comments about this issue, and I was impressed by the fact many westerners feel it sick. Indeed, not few Japanese or Chinese people find such dishes creepy because we don’t do that way in a daily life. But, very few people feel sympathy about them. I assume that we are so familiar with eating fish, and so love freshness of the fish that we can hardly feel guilty about eating fish without completely killing it.

  • @bigfatcatlover

well, would you ever eat a chickens cooked wing while the head's still alive and moving? I wouldn't! I don't think anyone would!

Every place has its traditions. For example, in Greece (where I originally come from) some people eat tiny little crabs alive and uncooked!!! Many like to eat the eyeballs of fish and suck their brains.

Personally, I find all these disgusting as well. Don't you?

  • @Elecen

I feel creepy about a chicken cooked like that. But, about fish, no. We can feel sympathy only about animals which can express themselves and are familiar with. For, example, I can’t eat dogs or cats attached to me and also can’t eat gold fish that I feed. Especially in the way of this video, absolutely no. But, just a fish, they seem to have no expression, no emotion, no pain. I think there is a difference between just a fish and closer animals in our perspective.

  • 科学的見地から補足。生物が痛みを感じる受容体は新皮質にあるとされています。

    魚には新皮質がないので、痛みは感じないはずだ、というのが一応通説です。
