I think I have seen you and your friend walking on the streets before and I probably have seeing is Ennis is such a small beautiful place. Slan abhaile agus go raibh miile maith agat!x

  • My GG Grandfather came from Ennis. I wish I could find more information about him. His name was James Slattery and he came to the US sometime between 1813 (born) and 1850 (first US census). If anyone knows anything about James, please email me at zaxaz at mac dot com. I would love to reconnect with long long lost family in Ennis Ireland!!

  • Why didn't you use a tripod?? too much camera shake and panning is too fast!

  • So glad you uploaded this video! I recognized many places, my dad's home town is Ennis and my name sake is the County Clare! :)

  • My b/f has lived in Ennis more than 10 years now and hates it with a passion. He doesn't care for the people. He is Irish but from another area. When I came to visit I thought it was lovely really and can't wait to go again later this year. I like your video and appreciate the time you took to make it. :-)

  • I have been living in The Netherlands for the past 35 years and seeing this great video of Ennis, where I was born, made me a little homesick, thanks for posting.

  • I was there last week, stayed in the Auburn Lodge Hotel!! I took a 2 mile walk to the town from there. Nice place but was a bit cold. Went to Cruises bar & restaurant. Had a great time there, Irish people are kind and lovely! Greetings from Mexico!!

  • The method I'm using doesn't require a website, and you don't risk your money! I found it at ez-casino(dot)com, BTW...

  • ur video has just been favorited my friend.

  • This is a great area to visit. I was there in Aug. 91, worked at Moneypoint power plant for 3 wks. Hope to make it over there soon. Had a great time, visited Galway, Limerick, Cliffs of Moher, Bunratty castle, and went to LaHinch and Kilkee. Next year will be 20 years since I was there, hope to get to visit again. People were wonderful and the food was great.

  • My last name is Ennis. I know there probably isn't any connection between my name and this town, but you never know. I am part Irish. You think if i came there I would be welcomed as a king? Only joking, but i do hope to visit some time, looks beautiful.

  • Thank you for the video, I love Ennis, I'm from Cuba and after I scaped in the 90's from the dictator Ennis was my first city of freedom, I would love to see at least in pitures the littler hotel where I lived "Lifford Arms", now I live in America and I cant wait to go back to visit Ennis.

  • Thanks for that!! As an Irish transplant with a yen for the Old Country, and all things Clare, and Ennis...it was wonderful to see the town and the Cathedral. Hello to all Mungovans from the windy city of Chicago!

  • He then moves to the Tech-school (ennis community college) owners of the sports field you saw earlier in the video -> and back to the start on his walk home past the sports field on the way up towards the lahinch road. done this cause im bored but hope it helps with understanding ennis

  • He takes a look at the market from many angles -> moves to the cathedral about 3mins walk from the market but also can be seen from the market over soom buildings -> looks at the old ground hotel, lovely food there -> walks from the old ground up o connells street (main street of ennis) stops at the top of it for some angles of the streets -> walks down abby street -> passes the police station and moves towards the library over the bridge thats parts the two

  • He's walking down the Lahinch road going towards town, first bridge he looks over at the river is the terret bridge over the river fergus -> the field is the tech-schools sports field -> the wallfall (dam) is near the field and is also on the river fergus -> he looks over the 2nd side of the same bridge over looking the dam -> skips about a 7-10min walk to parnel street which is ennis only pedestrian street -> the market is where alot of the shops are, on friday & saturday there is a market.

    chris schmitt

  • Sometimes spellings are changed as they pass from person to person.... do you have roots in this area??

The Irish "Burrenfada" translates as "The Long Road" The village or "Townland" (smaller than a village) of "Burrenfada" is near Cranny just off the N68; Ennis - Lissycassy - Kilrush Road.

    Hope that helps

    James

  • Thanks James for up loading this video of beautiful Ennis. Groups of us as young people used to cycle to Ennis from Limerick in the good old days in the mid to late 50's. I lived in Limerick and Kilkee for many years and also traveled back and forth frequently always stopping in Ennis for half days. Personal question if I may? Your name could be very Irish but your accent is definitely not, least of all a Clare accent! It is positively a..... ah well,...... you know, accent!!
