Cutting taxes on gas would save more than a few cents since it gets taxed 20 something times between the ground and ur car. last I looked it was 28 times but could be differ now it changes alot.

Actually the President can put a cap on the price of certain items, just like in the 70's with Jimmy Carter and the fuel "shortage". So it is possible to cap the price of gas to $2/gallon.

Cutting taxes on gas would save more than a few cents since it gets taxed 20 something times between the ground and ur car. last I looked it was 28 times but could be differ now it changes alot.

It may be possible if we eliminate the Federal gas tax, stop taxing the oil companies at higher rates than we do other companies, allow domestic oil companies to procure domestic oil, reduce restrictions on domestic refineries, etc. The Federal government is responsible for a large chunk of the cost of gasoline.

Actually the President can put a cap on the price of certain items, just like in the 70's with Jimmy Carter and the fuel "shortage". So it is possible to cap the price of gas to $2/gallon.

Ur way, we would be buying foreign oil @ a higher price, but selling it at a lower price which means we'd be losing $.

I say let the oil companies try and leave, they'd be giving up the biggest market in the world. It wouldn't happen they would have to like it or go out of business.
