I am the exact same way. I would much rather be lean and as strong as physically possible than bulky. That is why I find Randy's videos to be an inspiration to my training. The fact that someone who only weighs 205 can press this much weight gives me hope that I can do this much one day.
Incline BP is way harder too so 345 on incline is outstanding!
Thats awesome brother! Form is flawless and the fact that you can keep it going after the acceleration drops that much is amazing. When my lifts slow that much it is not long before they go into reverse! You just keep pouring on the power dude!
Thanks bro...probably because I train more for strength increases than I do for size (i.e. lower reps like a powerlifter, rather than 7 to 9 reps like a bodybuilder). I would much rather be strong for my size and keep my agility (see my vid "Athletic Versatility My Way..." to see what I mean) than be a big, bulky wimp! LOL
My strength has come from years of slow, progressive training. I started working out with weights when I was 10.
All the time bro...that's why you have to cycle things. Take a few workouts and deload, etc. Look up Westside Barbell's conjugate method for some details on how to use their pendulum wave.
I am bad for not resting enough...try picking four core bench exercises (like regular bench, floor presses, close-grips, and close-grip high inclines) and do one of them as your core exercise each week. Develope PR's for each one and rotate through them each week to try and constantly break those PR's. It keeps your body from getting bored and overtraining. Whenever you start to feel weak, deload for a week, and start all over. Good luck bro.
great job Randy! awesome job on the PR.. you should be hittin 400 very soon on regular bench.. you should do a 390 bench next time you max out.. anyway, 5 stars!
Thanks Mark. Yeah, my old PR was 340 lbs that I did a month ago (the last time I did inclines). I am close to my short-term goal of 350 lbs...(long-term is 365 lbs).
five stars by the way, just to clue you in i was racing to 365 too, but i only hit 345. You are almost at 400 now, make sure to tell us all how it feels.
great job man, i've been following your vids since day 1. remember me? I suggested you try close grip bench presses along with squats. Do you finally feel it paying off for you?
Yeah man, I remember you. Thanks for all the suggestions/comments...everything is slowly starting to pay off. I have only been squating for a month and a half...so a little early for me to comment on that.
slow but surely, "Yeah baby!"

Very strong! But I am curious and I mean no disrespect, your size doesn't seem to match your strength curious why do you think that is?
