You can find clocks at your local Goodwill, American Red Cross, or Salvation Army Store for about $1.00. Just take out the parts and you've saved money, as well as helped out those organizations.
I'd love to see an episode about a more grown up way to decorate for Halloween. Maybe something that does not involve loads of streamers and plastic skeletons.
indeed, that tin (and the candies) are very, very dutch ^^ and they still sell those tins in the tourist shops here...we even have a yoghurt version ^ ^''
you should really oil your bit if you are drilling through metal. if you don't you could send red hot bits of metal flying around, or catch the material with the bit and . . . well bad things happen.
I have loads of shoes and keep adding more, is there something I can use to make a shoes rack for my wardrobe which I can add to if (if who am I kidding) needed?
Not a good episode at all, too easy. Don't tell me that woman earns a living from making something a child can make?
there is no way you were able to get that tin in Denmark. 1. it's written in dutch, not danish on the tin 2. it says it's from the Netherlands at the bottom and 3. i live in copenhagen and have never seen that product in any stores or second hand shops. so where did you get it?
Pretty sure there's still a such thing as imports. And just because you live in Copenhagen doesn't mean you've seen every product ever sold in Denmark. She said she doesn't like to buy stuff new,so what if -- and this might be a long shot -- but what if one of the millions of people living in Denmark bought the tin while in the Netherlands, brought it back to Denmark, and put it in a second-hand shop where, as fate would have it, Andrea sees it and buys it?
that may not be entirely true...there are alot of people that can't really make things too well and those who support people that are this creative...also it'd be cool getting a one-of-a-kind clock (or whatever)
Just remember, if you intend to send a clock through the mail don't put the battery in otherwise someone at the mail centre might think it's a bomb and call in the bomb squad......KABOOOOM. Ha ha ha ha.....Great episode Meg.
You could always revamp old clocks that still have working mechanisms or cheap ones that look nasty? I'm sure that would be cheaper and more convenient than ordering parts online.
It takes a bit for the good quality to come up. If you watch it right when it shows up, it gives you bad quality. Don't know why but that's just how it's working at the moment.
Every single week youtube takes about an hour to up-load the best quality. Every single week the quality isn't up to par the first hour, but then it always gets to how it should. It's youtube.

Health and safety wasn't an issue for the making of that clock common sense to clamp the tin down before drilling

I just buy a clock and take the cover off and the pieces apart and replace the background with something more interesting....
silverbracelet6 2 years ago 5
How would you know what time it is..... There's no numbers on the clocks.
stuffrocks123 2 years ago
@stuffrocks123 Common Sense you do know how to tell the time don't you.
Boudica999 2 years ago
because the number placement is universal and its for decorative purposes only.
Bccaundefined 2 years ago
@stuffrocks123 well these kinds of clocks are more for decor but you can kinda see what time of the day it is
you could add like stripes, dots or numbers if you actually want to know the exact time

Neat, but a hole in sheet metal would be a lot easier with a hand punch - no jagged edges or bent surfaces.

A tin from Denmark? It says "Haagsche Hopjes", which is Dutch. ;)
But the ideas for making a clock are great! I especially like the clock hands that are curly and old-fashioned.
