Iv just bought the Tracer LEDray Tactical 400 170m beam 400 Lumens four filters Red Blue Amber and Green its got four modes low medium high and strobe they also do the Tactical 700 ie 700 lumens and 250m beam...the 400 has upto 150 hours run time on low :-)
so you feel good that the fenix pd10 would be a good addition to my edc, but still be size efficient? cuz thats what im looking for...i dont want a big light or a baby light ..the dimensions on this one look good
Depends on the size you want. I personally have a backup light with me always, and an older small one in my coat for lending purposes. This TK10 on this video is the previous one. Look into possibly a TK11 or TK12 if this size is fine for you. I do not own any more TK models because they are a bit too big for my EDC purposes. I keep a PD30+ on my belt which is very very bright but has smaller profile than the TK range
If you mean can the PD30 be used as an offensive impact device, you could yes. The only possible down side with the PD30 is you can not use it for morse code and it has not been designed with massive recoil in mind. However if your weapon has low recoil, i don't see any reason why a PD30+ would not suit your needs.
the original TK10 is about $69.95 and thats a 225 Lumen maximum. The Q5 version of the TK11 is about $78.00 and has a brightness of also 225 Lumens maximum. The TK11 R2 led version costs $85.00 with a maximum of 240 Lumens. All of those lights are very good, just pick the best one that will fit your needs. I would suggest either the TK10 or the TK11 R2 depending on how much you want to spend.
i just checked your video out. I would definitely add a flashlight to your edc. Bare minimum i would suggest a Fenix PD10 which im going to get soon. However if you want something a bit bigger there are Fenix lights designed to take massive amounts of shock from the recoil of weapons. The nice small PD10 would co on a keyring or something and be super bright, or super dull depending on how you decide to use it at the time. I have a PD30+, P1D Q5 with me everywhere and 4 spare batteries.
I bought an energizer small tactical light 90 lumens for $44.00 at target and an energizer 1 watt 50 lumens for $17.00....the light you have is to expensive. I made a short video about them just to show the light output. I like surefire but man there steep on the price.
...have found even 60 lumens too bright for close work under car hoods and such so i bought a pelicanPM6 3330 for those tasks with 41 lumens for 40 hours....so with a T1 and TK10 and a PM6 3330 i got all bases covered and all 3 use the same CR 123 batteries
i got both the TK10 and the T1 and both are outstanding @225 lumens and only using 2 of the CR123 battreies...i use the T1 for outdoors because the clip is more hardcore and the TK10 with clip removed for my night stand because of the cigar ring...have dropped the T1 about 5 times from 2-4 feet high onto concrete and no problems except for gouges from pointed rocks and such...installed the wrist thong and I dont seem to drop it anymore...
i have one of these, and i must say i am very satisfied! excellent light. my tac light collection has only just begun though, i plan on buying a few more different models from Fenix, and also Coast and Surefire... thanks for the video. This light is awesome!!!
manditory to equip it with the led bulb, not the lumens you would get from some lights but decent, down side is is that the housing the batteries are in isnt insulated and the batteries will be drained in cold weather
I just got my TK10 in olive color to use in the house. It exceeded my expectations. It definately has a solid and rugid feel to it. The size and weight is just right.
I haven't really used it much, but I am already falling in love with this flashlight. For $70, you can't beat this deal.
I will be purchasing an identical one in black to use when I'm on the road.
I was debating between a TK10 and PD30, but I prefer the more tactical, rugged design of the TK10/20.
What are the laws for tactile lights in the UK. I know they have all sorts of prohibitions for defensive weapons. Do you think the police would give you trouble for having an aggressive looking defense bezel?
There are no laws that i am aware of for flashlights. However if you have a light thats got an agressive bezel, i would leave it at home because a light is important, so if they take it from you your screwed.
"laws for tactical lights"? Man you guys need to escape while you can...practically a 3rd world country at this point.
Don't get me wrong, our 2A is under attack by the socialist thugs, but to not even have the most basic right to self defense is straight out of 1984. You guys wrote that right...?
This Fenix TK10 is awesome. Went through a few reviews on this already, and I'm definitely gonna replace my Pelican M6 with this for my law enforcement work.
One thing. It is actually not "fully waterproof", but it is waterproof to the IPX-8 Standard. I guess that means it can be a couple feet or so under water for a while. Still, hard to beat for the price. Cheers.
I have been a member there for a long time. Im on my second account here, since i was away for a long time my old one got deleted, so i had to make it again, but i have been there for a long time. Thanks
Yes but some people are more interested in lights than other peopls, and keep up with technology in that field.. Computer wizzes are geeks, flashlight fans are flashaholics, because we are always buying the new thing and enjoying blinding light, while other people are there in the dark. Funny they laugh at us by day, and want to make friends in the darkness.. Funny huh? If they had a light THEY would control their own destiny while the hour is late.. Ah well.
Dang.. That's quite a speech for a.. flashlight, heheh. I got some nice flashlights.. I just don't memorize all the brands and all that and know all about them and the names of the people that make them and stuff.. Heheh
Well i hope you use expencive lithium AA's because i can assure when it gets chilly outside, im going to be the one with the only working light around here . . . I specifically use CR123 lights because they are lithium based and have higher power capacity.
a) my camera can not pick up beam at a distance, thats why i never do that else everyone would think its about as bright as a piece of card. b) i think 200 meters is a little optimistic to be honest, i would think 100 meters would be more accurate. Perhaps the TK11 R2 can do 200 meters but not the TK10
Well, 100 meters is more than enough anyway. I like Fenix torches and I own a couple of L1D's Q5 and L2D's Q5. I'd get the TK10 but somehow I don't feel comfortable with the batteries it takes - not that easy to come by when you need them. :)
If you buy a torch that uses AA batteries, if it gets too cold outside your light will fail at a most awkward time.. Otherwise you can buy expencive lithium AA which really dont last as long as rechargibles, but then AA rechargibles will fail in cold also. This is why i keep a stock of lithium CR123 in the house, and i keep 4 batteries on my belt. The TK10 is nice, but my new favorite is the PD30, better throw, better modes just a good all rounder. Even my little PD20 can hit 80 meters easily!
This is a TK10 video... it does not even have strobe or SOS, why do people even mention it being a problem when its not even on this light? My favorite light thus far is my PD20, and it has all the modes, and i love it. I dont use SOS or strobe much, but im not interested in that, im interested in the brightness modes, so i love it.
They (I think) ALL are waterproof up to 3 meters under water. Watch for the IPX-8 standards (I think it's called like that. They don't have real dive lights but if that's what you want then search "Dive lights" and not "Fenix lights" xD
First of: Not every flashlight has strobe and SOS. The TK10 shown in the vid doesn't has those modes. And alot of people like the modes so if you don't like them then don't use them, how simple is that?
Why? SOS and STROBE are last options in the modes, so you will never have to put them on. Does those 2 modes really turn you off from probably the best quality/price brand at the moment? I would just take it, I am 99% sure you won't regret Fenix. Btw, what brands do you use now?
Better? Better, is relative to the person based on their needs and wants. If you think paying more money makes something better then buy surefire. If you want good quality with features that you want, then buy fenix. I made the mistake of buying a surefire years ago, and regretted it. Too expencive surefires are, and the performance sucks.
no rechargeable models? You can put rechargable batteries in most of the 2 cell lights they make, not to mention the AA and AAA versions can use rechargible lights. People who buy an only rechargible light have less abilities since they are stuck if it dies. At least i can put normal batteries in my 2 cell lights if they die, then recharge them later while im using standard batteries.
Yep. China really knows how to make good quality goods. Thats as long as you buy a high quality product, which is made in china. China is the place you can get good and bad quality. If you pay the money, you get the product, and fenix sure is high quality indeed.
Very nicely! The throw is an all time high for me, and no light i have can beat the TK10. i have a target chimney i always test my lights on, which is 80m away, and while the P3D Q5 is good, the TK10 lights it up so you have perfect vision of it.
Throw is hard to show with the camera, because the camera does not pick up light like this at long distance, i dont have shutter speed settings, because its a motion picture, so sorry, i cant demo the throw.
haha, up yours when the UB2 and UA2 come out, 400 OUT THE FRONT for the UB2, whereas this TK10 is probably is lucky to get 150 out the front. Neither Fenix or Surefire are really bad, extremist brand loyalty on either side is fucking stupid, appreciate that we even have these awesome lights.
yeah, they are finally coming out of the dark ages and putting some modern LED tech in their lights. unfortunately by the time they actually ship, they'll already be fossils. true flashlight geeks will be using the next bin, or figuring out how to overdrive a P7 with active cooling, or using a more pleasant color bin.. a big heavy company like sh*tfire can't keep up no matter what they do.
does it have a strobe mode?

Can you replace light bulbs for the flashlights? I asked Fenix Hong Kong distributor
and they don't sell light bulbs replacement. They told me to buy Maglite instead.

@KANYIUWAH Fenix lights use LED lamps and do not need replacing as they do not "burn out".

haha, up yours when the UB2 and UA2 come out, 400 OUT THE FRONT for the UB2, whereas this TK10 is probably is lucky to get 150 out the front. Neither Fenix or Surefire are really bad, extremist brand loyalty on either side is fucking stupid, appreciate that we even have these awesome lights.

Actually the Tk10 is very good, its got probably about 210 out the front at a guess.

agreed, it's an efficiency LED. oh, PS, I don't hold to either brand.

yeah, they are finally coming out of the dark ages and putting some modern LED tech in their lights. unfortunately by the time they actually ship, they'll already be fossils. true flashlight geeks will be using the next bin, or figuring out how to overdrive a P7 with active cooling, or using a more pleasant color bin.. a big heavy company like sh*tfire can't keep up no matter what they do.

It really is a great light that fenix have made, way better than the T1.

that's one hell of a flashlight! How can you not have this much brightness in your life. I simply have to get one.
