hey man i am about to paint my 88 vette in my garage and i would like some tips i am a ex gm tech of 15 years and i have the knac for the gun and shit ok that said this is the first hole vehicle i am painting ,..i am using ppg deltron ,..color white and i have transtar euro clear i got that to save 150 bux as the car is garage kept and the body suppl;y guy says its good enough so any pointers you can give me? i would appreciate it really and nice job man and you do gra work!!! ty

Yes that is the real finished car and it still shines ...the best part is that it can be retouched and blended even years later as long as I use the same DuPont base coat and clear coat ...if you take our stupidity and drunkenness out this cars paint job is as good or better then say, a Lamborghini and all thanks to Miami and Angel

for example we finished the right rear quarter for days in order to loose the factory wave, cause with this level of high shin if you don't coat the car with a thin layer of icing and several layers of primer then hand wit sand it with an 18 inch block on some parts and a light duty orbital sander in some other parts it would look like you just got MAACOed and at the end, the heavy clear topcoat was sanded with 1000 and 2000 grade sandpaper using the same tools

after that the whole car was buffed with a DeWalt high speed orbital [ my Milwaukee wasnt fast enough for Miami so I had to buy a 2nd one ] did I mention that we used four deferment color coded buffing compound with matching color coded wheels at a cost of $500 then a fishing compound cleaned with a shammy ShamWow :-)

No doubt you guys got skills..reason I asked about overspray was ,,,,well...I was in the booth last week when a friend of mine painted a Mustang..red as well..and when we left both of us were covered in red paint...LOL..we weren't wearing masks and even my nose hairs were red. my friend is an experienced painter ( I am NOT )..did he do something wrong?

YES HE DID SOMETHING VERY WRONG!!!! No joke what you guys did may not harm you if this was the 1st time but for him ,day in and day out this kind of behavior can kill him in his 50s if not sooner paint over spray is an iterating substance just like asbestos where long term and contentious exposure can and will kill no ifs or buts about it

, we removed the masks momentary to show some spraying on film which we couldn't do at the main event since the area was contained in poly sheets over PVC frame
