(the ones with the cameras on the top) brilliant surveillance craft can hide with just the camera above & have night sight & infra red. There are also several chinooks (nicknamed flying cigars) these are great the big lifters and carriers of the show. I wont go on but take a look in the choppers on the google images, I love these (BIRD GO !!!)

I love the AH64 what a beast, the Comanche and the Hind don't come up level with this. I always wanted to pilot this monster, i wanted to be a chopper pilot for so long - the Apache was my dream - may just have settled partly for the Chinook - but the Apache was my 1st and best. (Just in case you wonder Yes I am female, 40 and married) but once I just wanted to be let loose in this wonderful piece of work.

ya remember 1993? no, remember in Somalia, ya the "blackhawk down" mission. where we thought we would face a few dozen people sprayin nd prayin, no the army used their "rangers" who were supposed to be above standards and called for air support upon FIRST ENGAGEMENT. then had to have 3 armor coloums come in to save the failed rangers, who saved em, Marines and Delta Force

the army is more operational in afghanistan cause its bigger, but for the most part (1of2)

the army has 8 weeks of boot where they make you feel bad about yourself (they call it "breaking them down and building them up) then teach you how to shoot a rifle jump over a few obstacles and how to clean said rifle.

there is little to non existant true dicapline in the army

their "rangers" had to be saved by the Marine version of the grunt (and Delta force who i give huge props to)

the army is in trouble, they call in said armored coloums and choppers.

I would still take the Apache because of the obvious technological advantage, But just its ability to hide and stalk would give it that edge. If the blackshark flew high and fast the Apache would see and kill it and if the Blackshark played in the weeds on the Apaches turf it would be at a huge disadvantage and the Apache would kill it.

The hind and blackshark on the other hand where made to be fast brutes that come in hit you hard and fly out. You have to understand most of our stuff both American and Russian where created to fight on the European country side not the mountains and deserts of the middle east.

They dont have the cash. it has always been known that Soviet/Russian pilots recieve about 10% of the flight hours that western pilots do.

Mi-28 has nothing to do with the Apache, it's an evolutionary development of the HIND, better optimized for the anti-tank role, logically resulting in such a design.

They're both awesome as hell, and you'll never fly in either of them.

the mi-28 is pretty much a direct copy of the apache. Oh yea, not to mention the Russians only have 50 in service, while the rest of the world has a combined total of about 900. Also, the Russians lag far behind in terms of radar and crew training.
